Hey! would you mind sending me the steps to replicate this issue? I can’t seem to find a reason code-wise why this would happen.
Okay, so this is how it works. Select to study technology, then max it out by investing 20 points into it. Strength will then automatically max out.
Looks really interesting! I’ll play through more of it when I have more free time.
Often ethical hackers are called ‘white hat’ hackers and unethical ones are called ‘black hat’ hackers. Not really something that has to be changed, but it might be useful later.
In the very first paragraph it says “ruled by it’s iron fist” - “its” is possessive and “it’s” is “it is.” Right now it says “ruled by it is iron fist.” Same mistake is made a page after you choose ethical hacker - it says “figure out it’s(it is) vulnerabilities.”
I’m definitely going to read this, though.
Both have been found and fixed! DashingDon is being updated.
Thank you both!
@GrayCipher I believe I found another bug when investigating the bombs. So, my countdown was at 4, but after checking out the parking lot, my countdown remained at 4.
Found and fixed!
Do love a good cheat menu always fun.
Just a sneak peak at Chapter 2!
In Chapter 2, you get a considerable amount of downtime, which means you have time to spend with the main cast. You could even go on a date, if you choose to! Bear in mind that you won’t be forced to lock in a romance option (yet) and will have more time to hang out with the other characters in later chapters before making a decision. I hope you like the characters and their backstories! They will definitely share more with you the more time you spend with them.
First mission when selecting weapons:
Chris (or Jane) slings his GKX-933 “assaut” rifle as he …" Should be “assault.”
I don’t know a lot about guns myself, but I’m not sure that an AR “cocks.” Isn’t that something revolvers do? You might want to brush up on weapon terminology since I imagine it’ll come up a lot. Especially important since the MC went through a boot camp with military training.
After the mission, I chose to go to the bar but “I don’t drink” and received this error: "Chap 1_2 Line 3128: Non-existent variable ‘hojane.’ Game-breaking bug. Had to restart.
Observations: I’m guessing Jane and Gabriella (sp?) are ROs? And Chris? Will you balance out with another man? Are there more ROs (the more, the merrier)?
I had a lot of fun with this. I felt like I was doing stuff without needing to get too complicated. That’s a fine line to hoe and takes real skill.
I did wonder why my combat medic wasn’t given a cover job in the medical profession. Kind of wish I’d know about the cover jobs before spending my XP.
The thing about cocked guns took me out of the immersion enough that I looked it up. Other things that have been drilled into my head. Guns don’t have “silencers,” they have “suppressors.” It’s not like the movies. There’s still sound. But it’s 2048. Maybe they’ve improved them? It’s just another vocabularly thing that might bother gun enthusiasts.
I had a lot of fun, enough so that I’m going back to restart despite the game-breaking bug. Here’s hoping the other choices don’t shut me out. I was kind of interested in Silver, but he didn’t factor in much & am curious how to get Alicia to like me more. I’m sure that comes later. Mind you, I’m ready to turn against the government, but not as a terrorist!
Found and fixed!
I meant to say that you chambered a round, but I struggle to find a more layman term for this; though I can see where you’re coming with this.
Found and fixed! issue was caused by me working on C2. My bad!
That’s definitely a typo, I’m going to go through my code and replace ‘silencer’ in the next patch.
I’m glad you enjoyed the characters! There will be more characters released at some point, but this is the starting cast that I’m focusing on first, as the entire story diverges at some point.
As I mentioned in an earlier post, C2 will involve a LOT of hangout options, including with Alicia.
Thanks for writing this comment! I can tell that you took a lot of time with this, and I appreciate your feedback. I hope you still like the story enough to overlook the certain terminology issues I may have made!
I’m not one that understands coding, but my guess is that games like this, focusing on stats that doesn’t jump around like some other crazy games I’ve seen, will probably be much easier and faster to write. I have always been of the opinion that, one can do a whole lot more with a whole lot less hassle. Stable stats also allow for a lot more freedom.
I feel there no world building in this and its too fast pace where I don’t feel the tension in the fighting scenes. you just jump from one scene to another where it just dumps info on you and that’s really it, I wish we could take in more detail a little more with the action scenes and just taking in the world that your trying to build. I feel when you save Gabriela (is that how you spell her name?) that romance is a little to quick, I wish you had an option at the start of the game to pick what your attracted too instead of Gabriela just asking you to grab a drink with her for that to pop up. But I will say that this game has potential and I can’t wait to see where it goes.
I hope this is good feed back and please don’t take it the wrong way as I’m not trying to be rude at all.
Just to clarify, you can choose who you are attracted to, and you can also select to simply go out with her platonically. When you do it, the flirt options will be graded out.
@GrayCipher found another bug with the bombs. After checking the manhole cover, my countdown dropped from 5 to 3.
Yes I know, I’m just saying I wish it was at the beginning instead of right there when you save her it just feels off and to fast. maybe its just me though?
Not really. So far, it’s just flirting and nothing overly serious. At least in my opinion, it will only feel like a true romance once it becomes locked. Also, the author admitted that romance options will only be locked in later. This, at least to me, confirms that whatever is happening right now isn’t serious.
Found and fixed. Thank you!
It’s as @Denzil_Melgior_Nagel said. Right now, assuming you save Gabriella, she expresses interest, but it’s up to you whether to reciprocate. Either way, you’ll know if you’re actually starting a romance, and that’s in later chapters. For now, in C2, You will be able to go on dates without actually committing to any one relationship.
Major(ish) update to the demo!
Summary of the update!
You now get more flavor text during the training scene which expands on exactly what kind of hellish training your MC went through during the 3 months time skip, which is also affected by which background you pick! (Most obvious when you pick “That time I first met Chris and Jane.
”)
For now, the prologue and C1 will not be receiving any more updates (aside from bugs and errors) as I will be focusing on C2 and trying to get more content out in general. Actual update logs will be posted in my Discord server.

It did kind of feel like a “you’re hot and I almost died, let’s bang” offer.
To each their own I guess. For me, the option to keep things professional solidified my viewpoint.
