luck with your book and do not have a date for the book?
It’s an idea that I’m floating of my head I haven’t put pen to paper yet. I’m a started Let It later tonight.
oh alright, best of the luck
Can I have you write for me. That was awesome
You could have your game positioned in a time of war. While the war won’t directly affect the MC it will affect their work, a member of the artisans guild might pain pictures depicting the struggles of war, a metal worker may be presented with the moral choice of making weapons for the army, maybe some one close to the MC will get conscripted during the story, etc.
Either way I think it could be interesting to read about how the people indirectly affected by the war interact with each other.
I also think that if the MC dose end up doing metal work of any form that at least semi-accurate smithing techniques and metallurgy should be incorporated,
that will be incredible, support that idea
You guys are awesome!!
The craft I think I shall choice to focus on will be shoe making in the late medieval period/early Modern! It one of the best example of life cycle of guilds men at same time perfectly middle class for it period, it wealthy enough to live comfortable but humble enough it produces that joyful yet honest pious of middle class try to aspired appear to be during this period. Maybe your character will stay with his craft and be happy at same time trying to survived a the rough and dangerous period a religious wars can bring. Maybe you will get caught up in fight and rise higher then evener you could thing possible at cost of your soul or was Divinely ordained? Maybe can swept up into your Sovereign splendor court and being going down the path of meistersinger start your own school for the “art”. Your day of wandering could divinely inspired you to point of true revelation with mystical vision filling soul you will write, preach and inspired down another path fuel flame wars angering the Orthodox faith and could get you martyred or make friend of most powerful of men that unintentional distracted you from your path.
You mean: Cobbler and not Farrier, right? Or do you mean the latter?
Yep Cobbler he work with some old Leather!
Hey thanks man. It was typed on my phone, so it came out better than expected.
And in a guild based game the hierarchy and power stuff might be important to consider too (do you want to get rid of guilds, become an influential figure?)
I want the guild path to be something very important real and influential on a character’s life. But depending where they are in life and what’s going on in the world and the choices they make and leave them into a very different direction. I mean the guilt I think it is very high maybe even become the Lord mayor.
So clearly you’ve got a huge enemy in the Cordwainers’ Guild, those jerks who think they are better, just because they work with new leather. But the Cordwainers’ guild was, I believe, more powerful. Might be more options if you set the MC in that guild.
I think you should have a scene where you and your guild perform a mystery play as part of the Corpus Christi festival. I can’t remember which one the cobblers did historically. The Cordwainers did the suffering of Christ, I think. But then you have the opportunity to have a play-within-a-game. My favorite.
Ooh the mystery play back when guilds where call the mysteries. you know I can’t whole whole magic realism game where this city is untouched but by War famine plague. Forever a place that feels like it exists out of time. And the reason is they’re so deep unknown balance is maintain and by the guilds with rites so old then none remember where they come from and patron saints that are guise as for something much older ancient and primordial.
