I found COG through Wayhaven!
I found it through choice of dragons and it just went on from there.
I was bored out of my mind looking for VNs on Google Play, (i played choices, romance club, and the likes) I stumbled upon Delight Games, text bases much like COG and I finally stumbled upon the Hosted Games Apps.
Saw TWC, didn’t think much of it since I only played the demo. Coincidentally, some blogs I follow on Tumblr started posting about TWC and I got back to it. Traced it back to the COg forum and voila
here I am. Lol
I was looking for games on my phone and came across The Vampire House. I loved it, I started looking at the other games they had to offer.
Three years later, here I am. I am in love with CoG and have recently built up the courage to make an account after years of lurking.
Played Choice of Dragons endlessly when it first came out and then other games started popping up.
First found it on steam with Choice of the Deathless in 2014 then Champion of the Gods a year later but I only started to really get into it with Neighbourhood Necromancer on the play store. A few years later and I now have 47 Choice of Games and 27 Hosted Games. Make that 48 soon, I think I’ll buy Mecha Ace soon
I found it when i was trying to find a zombie game that has a decision making mechanic using google and then i saw zombie exodus and played it enjoyed it and bought it. So that how i found out about COG wayback 2012 or 2013 i think.
I stumbled across Metahuman inc. on steam one day, and I’ve never stumbled away.
Great tournament the legend game i found cog
I can’t really remember anymore but I vaguely remember looking for games with LGBT+ inclusivity around 2015-2016, like I played Choice of the Dragon before that but I didn’t get that invested with CoG until a year or two years later.
After finding a list of CoG games with LGBT+ inclusivity, I found the forums then I tried out some demos like Guinevere, FAWR etc. and the rest is history.
Although I didn’t create account until less then a year ago lol I’ve been a longtime lurker :))
I was searching for something text based games related, Choice of the dragon is the first game I played. Searched for the company and found the website of course. So far there hasn’t been a game I didn’t enjoy.
My first game was “Choice of Robots”!
That Grand Academy for future Villains book was my first book.
I feel so stereotypical when I say this, but The Wayhaven Chronicles Book 1, like 3 months prior to book 2. I was really sad because my new work schedule basically made me quit my D&D games so I was searching for interactive text adventures on the play store and TWC, Unnatural S1, Zombie Exodus, and Werewolves 1 in that order were my read list and then I was hooked. I eventually found the hosted games app, then I figured out CoG was a thing, and then I found Seph’s tumblr which brought me to Dashingdon, which then brought me to the forums where I’ve been really enjoying myself.
I tend to specifically like CoG’s niche and haven’t found another publisher that has games that I like as much as the average HG/CoG game (sorry Heart’s Choice, I like spicy content just none of the stories are my jam atm!).
There was an event I joined (online) to create interactive novel. The moderator of the event recommend us to look at “The Parent Simulator” game by Matt Simpson (Hosted Game).
Since that, I binge-playing all of COG, IF, and HG games.
That is awesome. How did the interactive novel turn out?
It started with my first cyoa game the delight game library which i end up buying the premium library which is extremely expensive. The after finished all the story available i still cravings for more so i looked upon at PlayStore and found the great tournament and it was really good and the choice felt better than the delight game series (seriously, the hosted game offer a more branched storyline rather than an illusion of choices) so yeah i get hooked to cog and hg since then
My friend introduced me to Choice of the Dragon and Choice of Broadsides. Got hooked immediately.
I found it bcos of sabres of infinity and then I started finding around for its sequels and then I landed here…I am pretty happy I found this place
I stumbled onto the Heroes Rise games on Steam and was hooked. Then I realised there was a whole catalogue of Choice games.
