How did everyone find CoG?

I found the Hero Rise Trilogy through my recommendations in playstore and I checked it first and found that it was too boring at that time since its only words, then I remembered my whole library of CYOA books and checked it back again, and ever since then I got hooked and bought dozens, since I can never go back I decided to check the community as well, I got addicted to it eventually and even tried to write one but I got too lazy, but i learned how to mod them, though I’m too selfish to share my modsšŸ˜…

Played the game called Magium which is still ongoing and is completely free and then well I started looking around for games similar to it. Through reddit people recommended several series from cog and the rest is history.

I was browsing google playstore 5 years ago :joy:

I remember so clearly googling ā€œdragon gamesā€ as a 14 year old, playing choice of dragon, then getting hooked on choice of romance, and waiting what felt like an ETERNITY waiting for the 3rd instalment to be released

have been a longtime lurker of the forums for ages now and hardly ever post, but have been moved into breaking my silence by the nostalgia of typing ā€œdragon gamesā€ into a search engine a decade ago

That backstory definitely makes your username feel appropriate. Welcome back, Meetra Surik!

According to my purchase history, first were Vampire, Romance and the Hero Trilogy in autumn 2014. I think I was looking for a vampire game on the Appstore and fell in love with interactive fiction. Six and a half years and over a hundredšŸ˜‚ games later I’m so glad that I downloaded Choice of the Vampire on that dayšŸ˜‹.

I saw some fanart from someone I follow on tumblr for The Wayhaven Chronicles for Adam and the detective, so I tried it out.

Marine Raider I think it was called- yeah that’s the one I found on the App Store. That’s how I discovered it.

Was browsing App Store and came across the Community College Hero series and it just continued on from there

Choice of the Vampire is how I found it. I was probably looking for visual novel games, or choice based stuff, etc. and that was one that came up often for me, so I tried it. Strangely, I loved it way back when but now I find it so boringšŸ˜‚

I found COG through Wayhaven!

I found it through choice of dragons and it just went on from there.

I was bored out of my mind looking for VNs on Google Play, (i played choices, romance club, and the likes) I stumbled upon Delight Games, text bases much like COG and I finally stumbled upon the Hosted Games Apps.

Saw TWC, didn’t think much of it since I only played the demo. Coincidentally, some blogs I follow on Tumblr started posting about TWC and I got back to it. Traced it back to the COg forum and voila :joy: here I am. Lol

I was looking for games on my phone and came across The Vampire House. I loved it, I started looking at the other games they had to offer.

Three years later, here I am. I am in love with CoG and have recently built up the courage to make an account after years of lurking.

Played Choice of Dragons endlessly when it first came out and then other games started popping up.

First found it on steam with Choice of the Deathless in 2014 then Champion of the Gods a year later but I only started to really get into it with Neighbourhood Necromancer on the play store. A few years later and I now have 47 Choice of Games and 27 Hosted Games. Make that 48 soon, I think I’ll buy Mecha Ace soon

I found it when i was trying to find a zombie game that has a decision making mechanic using google and then i saw zombie exodus and played it enjoyed it and bought it. So that how i found out about COG wayback 2012 or 2013 i think.

I stumbled across Metahuman inc. on steam one day, and I’ve never stumbled away.

Great tournament the legend game i found cog

I can’t really remember anymore but I vaguely remember looking for games with LGBT+ inclusivity around 2015-2016, like I played Choice of the Dragon before that but I didn’t get that invested with CoG until a year or two years later.

After finding a list of CoG games with LGBT+ inclusivity, I found the forums then I tried out some demos like Guinevere, FAWR etc. and the rest is history.

Although I didn’t create account until less then a year ago lol I’ve been a longtime lurker :))
