Honor Bound: Creme de la Creme 4—Protect a boarding school as a military bodyguard! [OUT NOW]

you do know one can catch a cold no matter the season, right? lol even in a hot Summer lol

Oh I see! Now I’m the one misreading

At the moment, colds will be the least of the MC’s worries. Some of the other characters are going through various things too… Thankfully there can be some looking-after going on for an MC who wants to be looked after :sparkling_heart:

Came here looking for info/dates on the psychological effects being added to public demo and realize that earlier today I’d read that as “mycological effects” and spent the whole day wondering who in the school was dealing shrooms. So don’t feel bad LilliArch, it’s not just you who’s brain went silly on them.

And itch has also gone silly. I can’t access the game.

Oops, that was always going to end up happening… the dashingdon and itch versions have different save commands behind the scenes and I’d accidentally not changed it for the latest itch version. That’s corrected now!

Thanks! I find it’s so much easier to play on mobile on itch.

Important question, what’s the cosiest thing you would want to wear (that’s reasonably early-twentieth-century in flavour, and not too technology-heavy, so no electric blankets). This is what I currently have. Any suggestions for additions?

#Fleece-lined pants and a knitted cardigan.

#A long flannel shirt and leggings.

	#Linen pants and a cable-knit sweater.

	#A long dress with a thick dressing-gown.

#A large fleecy sweater that's more like a blanket.

considering most peoples don’t even know what peoples wore back then (I don’t, saying X Century mean Nada to me)…

So hm…yeah. (may misunderstood the question…I need :coffee:)

The historical “accuracy” is very loose, it’s more that the Creme de la Creme universe doesn’t have people wearing stuff as plasticky/loud as something like this, although purple is allowed

Fur coats aren’t desired any longer, but what about something like:

Here are more dress-style options too for inspiration:

that 1st pic, isn’t that the timeline of charlie Chaplin?

some more here…

Always thought peoples were overdressed back then lol nowdays, I think everyone need to put more clothes on

I would love a more tailored option. Flannel’s okay, but what about corduroy, tweed, moleskin. Something more structured, but still warm and comforting.

Something similar to this (but much more casual.) Bloomers - Wikipedia A corduroy or moleskin bloomers set (bloomers and open-front jacket or overshirt) that can be worn with a woolen sweater and knee socks.

A smoking jacket! I looove them, like a robe but short.

Bernadette Banner seems like great inspo, she even does pretty androgynous stuff, if you want something more loose in accuracy then maybe Rachel Maksy?

also forgot to say, the options you provided already seem great! but maybe reading the words leggings would take me out of the immersion a bit

“leggings” definitely feels too modern for the period

I can’t get it to run properly on itch.io, the screen looks like this on Firefox mobile

And it looks like this on Vivaldi mobile

Thanks for the clothing inspiration, everyone! I may use some of it for other outfit situations as well. “Leggings” is probably a bit too modern-sounding - I’ll tweak it. I’m happy with playing fast and loose with historicality - the kind of cosy loungewear I’m thinking about isn’t particularly accurate itself - but if the vibe doesn’t feel right it will get changed.

I am also craving a modern, real-world slanket myself, so if the PC can have one, I will get to enjoy it vicariously.

@S_Missions I’ve replied to you on itch too but in case you don’t see, I’ve tweaked the settings - can you let me know if it’s working now? I’m slightly in the dark because on my mobile browser (firefox on android) it’s working OK, but if it’s still not for you/others, I’ll keep at it.

Thanks, it scrolls down now, but Vivaldi is still stuck in landscape. Is it possible to change the font size or something so you don’t have to scroll down every page? It’s just kind of annoying to have to scroll down every page.

It’s weird because I’ve never had to scroll down on a game before, and the dashingdon version works perfectly on both.

I’ve now set the mobile orientation to “portrait” rather than “default” which it was before - does that behave better?

I can see it rotating now but it still goes back to landscape  I think somehow Vivaldi assumes full screen is always landscape, not sure if it has a full-screen mode in portrait.

Fairly sure the Vivaldi coders assumed that full screen always means landscape. Not sure if anyone can do anything about that, unless the full-screen can be turned off somehow.
