Thank you everyone for your support and patience with this project. After a long hiatus I am back working on this project. The dashingdon link hasn’t been playable for several months now. I’m addressing that now. I’ve uploaded new assets and the demo should be playable again.
Most of my time and attention is focused on the ending which isn’t easy because this project is a mess because I have been pantsing my way through this project for over a year.
I am going to divide my time on two things
*if writersblock = False
Work on Act 3
*if writersblock = True
Clean up Act 1 & 2
That’s my new bit of operational code for the time being. Here’s hoping it works.
So check out the link, the game will be evolving quite a bit over the coming weeks. Currently the beginning plays properly, I eliminated the heavy sandbox nature of it so you meet all the major characters no matter what but things like the Triad casino or other asides are optional.
There’s a super sandbox section written for Chapter 7 which hasn’t been “installed” yet but I’m hoping to have that installed and running this month.
Right now the game runs to Chapter 9 before crashing but there’s a number of non sequitur moments in the game. If you notice any weird transitions after you make a choice please copy and paste the first line of the new nonsensical scene and post it to this forum and I’ll track the offender down.
This game is inspired by Asian Action cinema. John Woo’s The Killer, Once a Thief are big inspirations. But Saviour of the Soul is also a big inspiration and there’s a big fantasy path to pursue in Hong Kong Blood opera along those lines. I’ve also been inspired by some of Johnnie Tso films like Election which explore the traditions and politics of Hong Kong’s underworld.
There’s a guns and gansters path, a kung fu path, a writer’s path (currently underdeveloped) and a supernatural arc.

The demo has some replayability.
