I honestly think that if a story is a good, the gender of the MC does not really matter and female-locked MC has worked very well so far. I’d personally like to see the story as it is carry on.
Just a little update on this, I did a full run of my latest build and this bug did not proc. Just in case I have added a setting to be included in the next public version of the game which will allow images to be totally disabled if they are causing problems.
It’s all coming together for the next chapter. I am so happy . Just played through the first half of the first half and I think I’m managing to capture the tone I’m going for, a sense of dread. The update is going to be around 70,000 new words.
Another day another update–I worked hard today on bugtesting and smoothing things out for the release. I have a list of seven key things I need to do before I can push this and I managed to do two and a half which felt good. That means I am mostly on schedule.
Total word-count stands at 368 000 now.
Been reading books on this forum for a while but wanted to post here, I’m glad to see that the poll is suggesting so far that the story remain as is and not sacrifice story quality, I’ve been reading this and I’ve really enjoyed it so far! And as far as I can tell, I don’t have a real big understanding of the 40k universe when it comes to the books so anyone correct me if I’m wrong but they all definitely seem very much male dominated, so it’s nice to see a change of pace! Even if it’s a fan novel ^^
Thanks @Autumn19 Glad you enjoyed it so far. Warhammer 40k is defiantly been rather male dominated–it also often tends to focus on space marines and battles while I wanted to use the setting to explore the every day of the Imperium. I’m working on this next update (slowly) so there is more coming soon.
I finally, finally fixed the damn armor bug

Have to say I really like the chapter, loads of things to do and opportunities to use skills, like blathering when challenging the captain or inquiring for rumours. Many options to spend your time researching as well. I was actually pleasantly surprised to not spot any bugs at least in my playthroughs so far, but then again there is a ton of things in this chapter so I will keep playing to see what I get.
That’s great to hear, thanks. If you see any instances where you felt you should have been able to use a skill and the option wasn’t there let me know.
The next part of the chapter is the auction proper and I wrote this months ago so I am going to spend some time sprucing it up, after a short break.
I actually think I found one now, if you trigger both the Drusilla and the Solaria romance, instead of getting only the combined line when talking about it with Mildred, you get all three instead (romance both, romance just Drusilla, romance just Solaria).
V 0.4.1 pushed
—Fixed equalities bug that resulted in multiple dialog lines triggering in conversation with Mildred in chapter 3.
—Spelling mistakes in Chapter 3 corrected
Is the Frenzy talent actually implemented in-game? Because even when I roll it, it doesn’t seem to appear in the talent section. Noticed this today and tried to get it a few times to no avail.
Ah, the frenzy talent - so initially I was going to implement two progression paths after rank 3, a physical combat focused path and a psychic powers focused path as per the Dark Heresy core rule progression path for psykers. Frenzy is rank 4 physical combat path only (Savant-Militant).
However I realized that this might work for pen a paper but would make writing the game even more complicated and possibly impossible since “combat focused” isn’t really what I’m going for, thought there is plenty of combat, so I decided to scrap the two paths and go with the psychic powers focused route only.
I think the only reference to frenzy is in the flagellant talent description? correct me if i am wrong.
edit: i found it again, granted in char creation your divination. hmm, I will have a think what to do with this, good spot
edit 2: I might make it an optional talent to purchase at rank 3 and write in some frenzy stuff since the talent description sounds quite fun
I believe Darkholders should still have the Void-Accustomed Trait, book says that the Void Born template’s Charmed Trait is replaced but makes no mention of doing it to Void-Accustomed. Wouldn’t make much sense for them not to have it fluff-wise either since you’re a Void Born with some Ghillam heritage in you.
I have to admit, I’m a bit disappointed you have always have to be a psyker.
I’ve never played any of the Warhammer games, but I’ve read some of the lore. This game is absolutely fantastic so far! The depth of the stat screen and your abilities/skills/characteristics is mind-boggling on scale. Please keep making this! Again, I absolutely love this
Hi all, thanks for the nice words. I am still working but it is a slow process and I took some time out over the past month. This game is my baby
Wow! I have to say I really enjoyed this. After watching Astartes, I’ve fallen back into the rabbit hole. And being a Psyker is awesome. I also really like how the paranoid stat is present throughout the whole thing, at least I think that’s what it is since I made the same character both times. I seriously look forward to anything involving this.
