Any exciting news on that front? How did you feel working as a (junior) writer on such a more traditional game development product as compared to your own CoG projects where you have nearly absolute creative freedom?

In my experience, writing for a more traditional game is more of a collaborative effort as equals, no matter the size of a writer’s role. The reason being is that the writing team must often come together as a team, responding to the other teams in the project.

ymmv.

If anything, the main issue I’m grappling with is the increased emphasis on procedure. Normally, when I write by my own, I can use whatever conventions I want, but when you’re working as part of a team, that isn’t a luxury you have anymore. If we want to maintain consistency in writing, we have to actually refer to a style guide and stick to it. As I go through my earlier scenarios and see just how bad I was at doing that (and correcting accordingly), that’s been hammered home more than ever.

you say your testing things for lords but i thought lords would not have as much massed combat or any combat other than duels

I refuse to answer on the grounds that it may incriminate me.

Quick update: with the likely release date less than three weeks away, I’ve taken down the WIP link and I’ll be removing the dev build from Dashingdon.

Important Update: Jason wants a list of testers for the acknowledgements page. If you’ve been part of the feedback process over these past few months and want to be credited, then post below, with the name you want to be credited under.

I pointed out 8 (or thereabouts) errors. If possible, I’d like to be credited as “Nathaniel Garcia”, please.

Thank you in advance.

Giving this another 24 hours. I’d leave it open longer, but release is in less than two weeks.
