Just finished my first playthrough. This is truly amazing. The funny thing is I wasn’t really into it during its release as the premise didn’t really seem attractive to me. Now probably my favourite game of the year alongside the WIP Archangel
I have a question
I tried many different options and I can’t get the following to work (game related not technical issue)
First time that you are fighting catafel, one of the option is " I’ll use my new magic, both to fight of demons and and light the way for my allies "[spoiler]. This option is greyed out. How do you get this ability?
You have to make enough peoples believe the lie you told three years ago.
Ooooh I love this game! The writing is wonderful and I am given so much freedom without being judged …! (And I replayed multiple times just to see what will happen in other branches. I even get a scene with the demon lord after I decide to rule the world with him! Normally other games will just give a simple bad ending but this one actually wraps up quite nicely. I must say that I love your work, and I look forward to future games if there are more
I’ve been playing this game for a few days now, but I’m having trouble with the “Soundtrack” achievement. Does anyone know when all of the times Min sings are? And what does “excluding the epilogue” mean? Is there some way to hear Min sing there?
Getting the Soundtrack achievement requires certain scenes with Min in Chapter 2 (not just the song you always hear from them, another verse based on a dialogue option), Chapter 4 (the whole song), Chapter 5 (there’s an opportunity if you hang out with them), Chapter 6 (there’s an opportunity if you decide to repair your reputation), and Chapter 9 (there’s an opportunity if you’re telling the truth).
The epilogue is not included because the only way to hear Min sing in the epilogue is if you die, and requiring that for the achievement seemed a little unfair.
We can die? I’m genuinely surprised. Since beating Cadafel didn’t seem that hard to do I suppose we’d have to mess up big time for that to happen.
Yes, you can, and there are a few different ways it can happen, not just fighting Cadafel. It might be another thing like going to prison where I set the difficulties a little lower than they really needed to be because I didn’t want it to catch anyone off-guard.
How do I romance letha?
Letha’s taken, alas. You can talk to her about the possibility of romance in more detail, but you can’t actually romance her.
Why choose when you can be both.
I’m loving the game so far, I was going to romance Evander but Min is stealing my heart fast.
I just played this game, and enjoyed it! It’s a super original take on prophecies.
The route I did was lies to truth. I actually ended up with a good ending except for that I lost my magic. I wasn’t sure which option meant what while in the portal, and what the required stats for each were. I’d love to see what would happen if I was able to keep that magic though.
Best CoG ever .
How do you get the wedding achievement? The one where you still manage to let the wedding happen, no matter what happens? I got it once and I still don’t know how I managed it
This is definitely one of my favorite CoGs so far. I really enjoyed it. Looking forward to other works by the same author.
If you haven’t seen it, they have a WIP on the forum, which is quite good: Stars Arisen Developer Diary
Just wanted to pop in and say I love this one, especially how the text mentions your personality and stats so much, it feels really responsive. And the characters were very interesting and developed a lot. I went from a Verity stan to romancing Meredith.
Not sure if this well get seen but is there a way to get alvis and verity together without inserting yourself into the relationship I ship these two hard
Unfortunately not, I was a bit leery of that level of complication with my first game. (It doesn’t do you any Alvis/Verity good, but for the record I am no longer leery of that level of complication with my in-progress next game, Stars Arisen.)
Authorial musing on things that are post-game/not in the text, feel free to disregard if you’re not into that:
My logic (aside from limiting code complexity) was that things between them were complicated enough that they probably wouldn’t get together during the events of the game without the PC inserting themself pretty directly to nudge them along. When the game is over and things are calmer, I could certainly see them getting together on their own time. Or not, depending on how things went during the game and whatever happens after!
