Sounds fun to destroy the block. It helps me as well with it just put a random generator two pick to words and I have to write with them a small something. It is fun and helps to write again

I’ve decided I’m going to write a story for the game jam this year because I would love a break from Wonderland, but not my initial idea. I thought of one that fits the theme better. It’s nice to see all the creativity in this thread.

I think it’s probably around two thirds done, but I’ve been too busy to work on it lately. But that will hopefully just mean I come back to it with a bit of distance.

It’s been going pretty good! Still messing around with my code skeleton to try and keep it manageable, but I feel happy with the idea overall.

i got around 1,500 words written, then started feeling horrific for not doing any work on my main project (not just from working on this jam, but also just general progress being so lackluster the past several months), and i haven’t picked it up for a week or two. but i bet i can hit that 2,000 word mark in a day or so’s work, so i might try to do that tomorrow!
it won’t be good, but by god it’ll be DONE at least. i could really use the motivation/encouragement/self-assurance of saying “hey, at least i know it’s possible to finish a choicescript project!”
…this medium is so hard. good lord. but i do like what i’ve written so far for this jam in theory. it’s pretty ridiculous, which i enjoy.

Well, sounds like we got a little bit of everything here!
For my part, I’ve loved the break from Wonderland Noir. I’ve put so much time into refining the prose and emotional evocation for that project, and it feels nice to work on something that isn’t so close to me and with less ‘baggage’ surrounding it. If that makes sense.
I’m closing in on 10k words. This will definitely be my most accessible story by a huge margin, though still very weird. I just wrote a really fun scene where an AI celebrates you becoming employee of the month by dressing as an archpriest in company colors and throwing confetti made from final notices and legal pads everywhere. And it got you a cake. (You’re the last human still walking on earth. Everyone else has entered a full dive vr world)

remember everyone that there is time and the minimum is 2k many times doing a limit so small is a challenge so maybe people can try to beat it like A 24 hours 2k game doable but a challenge

i’m like 30 words away from the 2k minimum (WOOOO~!) and im wanting to get back to working on this project since i’ve been doing just Deux stuff (my main, big project) recently. i think tomorrow i’ll spend some good time cranking out words for this jam! i’ve been really enjoying writing for it, it’s so fun

I have been sick for the entirety of September so far, it’s basically ruined my writing plans 
I’m unlikely to submit anything at this stage. I’m still at least using the opportunity to learn Choice Script!! I’ll stick around to read the entries the jam does get tho

Congrats! I misread that at first and thought you were 30k words away from the 20k minimum and sat there wondering where I’d gotten my math wrong!

My project has suffered from me only having a clear beginning and ending scene in mind. It started as a corpo post apocalyptic horror, then got a bit romancey, and now it’s some sort of Americana road trip thing.
Also we’re coming up on 22k words and I’ve just now got to the scene that I envisioned being the start of the story, so certain things might end up compressing.
As usual, hope everyone else is doing well and I’m very much looking forward to what everyone else has written. It’s a bit of a shame to see so few returning writers from last year.
