Christmas and new year are really close. It could be done, but I think Saint Valentine is better. Also, It would be good to know specific opinions. For example, one friend told me that I needed to add page breaks. XD that is the kind of advice that can be acted upon. And I think is really helpfull.
I would like to get that kind of help with this one, so I can apply it to the nexto one.

My advice is to try always your game on a phone before making it public. You will see graphically where you need a page_break. Never do more than two page_breaks without a choice. SERIOUSLY DON’T It will alienate players and destroy flow.

If you’re putting it together on a PC I did notice a option called “Popout” I think it was called? That brings up a much smaller screen with your text and choices on it which (at least to me) simulates a phone screen. Could be useful as Mara mentioned in testing before you submit work in future.

I am more blunt lol just make a Dashing private link and try in several devices Until something is more or less okay in all sizes.

Thank you, that would be useful. Although I admit that testing is one of my weak spots (I have several, but testing has to be one of the biggest XD).
It is because impatience and lack of time. Bad mix. Quick test help me to eliminate the dumps, but beyond that, I have problems testing because it requires time and attention. XD

Why can’t we just get things right first time round right? Going over work is always so much effort.

Absolutely. Why can’t the things in my head just turn out the way I imagine them? XDDD
Ah, well, step by step.

When you need a tester, send me a pm. However, I am really sincere so you have to think if you can handle my feedback or not.

I’m goint to take your word for it. I don’t mind blunt if it is precise/clear. I mean. If you tell me “this is shit”, is barely useful.
“This is shit because the plot is too messy” is slightly more useful. “This is shit because the plot is messy and you can fix it by adding more structure or giving more details” is really useful.
I mean, it is normal that the first reaction to blunt feedback is defensive. But once you think about it, you realize that there are things that need to be fixed or improved.
To be fair, I am stuborn, so not always I act on feedback. If I decided that something in the story must happen, I would try to make it work, but won’t remove it. So we might try once the jam is over
Or you could give me feedback from my jam story to see how I react to your bluntness. hahaha

I will but today is My relaxing day. No writing or reading. We deserve it after working hard in the Jam.

I was awful for that back at school. If my writing was criticised I was in tears a lot of the time, or on the verge of them. Embarrassing I know. There were exceptions, if it was friends, people I trusted giving helpful feedback and criticism I was OK with it. I did have a penchant for being stubborn though. Probably still do.

No rush. No one would expect inmediate (or the same day) feedback. The vote is two weeks, so I expected some feedback when you get to mine. I guess my work conditioned me to realistics timeline.

Thank you for the reviews, they are really useful and nice.
I’m trying to play all the games before voting. That is why I haven’t commented yet. But I must say that there are really good entries (and some good potential for full stories)

Same. I’m down to the last three now, and then I’ll make my pick.

I disappeared for about a month and missed the deadline. Unfortunately, I had to put my story on hold due to personal stuff though it’s a small project I’ll work on when I can. Would it be alright for us to save our WIPs and then just publish them as a free-to-read thing at a later date?
Congrats on the submissions - I will check them out shortly.

Don’t see why not, the stories aren’t property of the jam after all.
I didn’t make the deadline either, but I had some work done on a story, was probably planning on getting around to getting something done with it at some point and just posting it as a WIP short story.

You make a good point. The main thing is the jam sparked the beginning of these stories, and I’m sure when you can finish yours it’ll be worth that extra time you get for it. I think I’ll take the same mindset and just post it…at some point. Knowing me, probably next Halloween by the time it’s even remotely done!

Ugh… Story of my life right there. Deadlines are bad for me, because I ignore them, but then I ignore putting work in anyways. Chances are it will turn out to be less complex and of far worse quality than someone who finished a story in two months.
