@jeantown Thanks for the answer, hehehe I like the fact that this is a freaking good news!
And I do not know if this has already ben discussed, but now that my Guen decided to talk to Viviane during the banquet I must ask: do you know if you will make her go to Avalon (either alone or with the King) ?
@Tehani I’m trying to work Avalon into part 4… can’t promise for sure yet, but I would like to make it work. I’d like to have some of part 3 take place in Orkney and some of part 4 take place on Avalon, if I can.
If this is based on real life wouldn’t the roman-saxons attack from the south not the north? especially if they were coming from an old roman highway.
@TheCourier Definitely not supposed to be based on real life, just very loosely inspired by some historical elements (though geography is roughly the same). The Romano-Saxons are just made-up. They’re exiles from their respective cultures, so I imagined them, at the time of the story, being based in the northeast, somewhere in the parts of England that were occupied by Vikings around the time of the Danelaw. It’s my understanding that Roman roads networked their way all through Britannia, north and south. (Though every map I’ve seen seems to put the roads in different places.)
Can’t wait for chapter 2 , my mom will be happy when I stop whining about it
@shirette congrats, I think you got the 1000th post in the thread!
I’m working on part 2 every day. Scene 6 just keeps refusing to be finished; it feels like the more I work on it, the more there still is to write. But I’ll get there.
Oh my gosh this is some nice writing, looking forward to the next bits
Y’know I always considered myself to be straight, but Lancelot’s swearing fealty scene? Swoooon…!
Thanks, @Zanite! For some reason, and I have no idea why, Lancelot seems to be somewhat more popular with male readers than female ones. Glad you liked the game, and part 2 is very much in progress!
Is it me or do the ladies love Morgan and the guys love lance?
I (am female) prefer Lance! My MC is annoyed with him, but I like his combination of sincerity and goofiness. Morgana just seems… a bit dire and sardonic. Mind, fantasically dire and sardonic, but still.
I also quite enjoy Arthur; he seems alternately very fascinating and utterly boring. I can easily picture a Guen feeling a bit torn.
Well then I’m abnormal (but what else is new?), but then again I still picture her as Katie Mcgrath, but anyone who would rather picture Eva Green, well it’s hardly any skin off of my nose.
I’m straight, but Mara is bisexual. Yeah I know is confusing
Morgana is the only romance I could enjoy Barbie and Hippie are so sugar coated than give me stomach ache a :-& “Oh Guen you are the peach in my creampie …” if Hippie tries to put my Guen nicks like Sweetie, birdie, my sweet pea I would vomit in his throne i swear lol. So stupid emo crap they are :-&
Hey @jeantown, I was wondering… how high do you expect the stats to get? Both the skills and reputations. And is there any advantage to learning a third skill, or is it better to focus on the two we picked at the beginning? I imagine my Guen (the me-Guen, not the ditzy Guen) studying politics along with both kinds of magic because she’s a nerd who likes learning about everything.
@MarvelousMatty Mordred won’t share, so I’m afraid your Guen’s Lancelot may be in for a broken heart, not to mention a world of other trouble that Mordred will want to cause him.
@shirette There seem to be lots of exceptions and different interpretations, but yeah, overall, Morgana seems to have more female fans and Lancelot maybe slightly more male ones.
@stsword I never did watch that Camelot series with Eva Green… she does have the right look for Morgana, though… hm, it appears to be on Hulu!
@poison_mara I hate cutsie nicknames, so it’s unlikely that any of my characters will be using them, at least not much. Hippie and Barbie are both (perhaps disgustingly) nice people, but they’re not THAT saccharine. And @Scrivener, it makes total sense to me, too! I mean, why not?
@Mirabella Honestly, I have no idea how high the stats could be by the end of the whole thing. You get to add a +10 and a +5 to any two skills at the beginning of part 2, and that will most likely be the case for each book. There are also a number of opportunities to add extra skill and reputation points throughout part 2. Part 1 rewards specialization, since Bretta can die if Guen hasn’t maxed out one skill, and there’s no real advantage to diversifying in part 1. In part 2, on the other hand, diversification is rewarded, and skills can, to some extent, be used in combination with each other, so your nerdy Guen would have some advantages. I’ll need plenty of feedback from people to make sure the skills are appropriately balanced! As for reputation stats, I really don’t know. I’m still doing a lot to figure out what difference they make. They do make a difference at the end of part 2, and should matter even more in the future (I hope). No idea how high they’ll go.
@jeantown I love alter egos in video games and other stuff. That’s why I spend so much time creating my character, coming up with a name, and making sure the back story is set because that’s my character, possibly me as another version and if I don’t get it right it won’t be perfect.
@MarvelousMatty Absolutely, but don’t expect him to be happy about it.
Oh, and Mordred won’t mind at all if Guen has established some “influence” over Lance by the time Mordred comes into play. He just won’t want them living happily ever after.
@Scrivener I don’t understand how people can play games and NOT do that!
