Guenevere (WIP)

I play a Guin who genuinely likes and is loyal to Arthur, but will have Morgan on the side, well her duties as a political wife have nothing to do with her private personal life, and not as idealistic as Arthur.

So if people prove unreasonable, Camelot might end up loving their king, and fearing their queen, I’m sure Machiavelli would approve.

@poison_mara I do feel better knowing that I will have you as my consultant for all things evil.

@shirette and @stsword This is really helpful to me, since I could never anticipate all of the different interpretations of Guen’s personality that people might come up with. Hearing about different Guens helps me think of options that will help everyone play their Guen as consistently as possible. Thanks!

My biggest dilemma is making her mean, it just feels unnatural. I just get worried about Morgan or whoever her lover is (if it’s not Arthur) . How will they take her having a baby? Could it be someone else’s baby

Magical same sex baby ooo

@shirette No magical same-sex babies. It’s a great concept, but too far outside the parameters of what I want to do with Arthurian stuff and the heir-to-the-throne issue. (Also, after Mordred, Morgana isn’t going to want to have any more children.) If Guen does manage to have a baby, it will be because she made some hard choices and gave up some other things. In general, the other characters will be supportive if it happens. Morgana loves her sons, and she would never fault Guen for wanting children. Lancelot wouldn’t expect Guen to refuse to have babies just because she’s in some kind of romance with him. Producing an heir is just too integral to what queens are supposed to do.

Of course, Guen will have to decide how she feels about Morgana having Mordred, and how she feels about Lancelot having [spoilers spoilers spoilers but if you know your Arthurian legend, you can make a good guess].

@shirette My Guen aka Poison queen is evil and manipulative, but she is not mean she fake being nice to control the realm. You could be cute and evil also is a funny lie to all like to say Arthur you love him and .Tell the others the fact is an illusion

Also, could I Guen sacrifices criminals to evil gods…? Like to kill saxons of course need evil dark magic

Wow evil guns is intense. What are the poison queens strengths? Fighting and politics?

I mean Guen. Stupid auto correct

No political and dark magic, the perfect combo strategic poisoning , curses, verita potions etc… United with the subterfuge and charming seduction in an analytical ruthless strategician. My Guen will be the deadliest hurricane who wipes Hippie from history, becoming the strong leader a united Britannia needs.
Vote to Poison Queen to be the new Supreme ruler ! >:-)

@poison_mara I can now say that I have figured out exactly how you will accomplish each of those goals, particularly the hippie-destruction. It’s going to take a long time, though, so I hope you’re patient. In the more immediate future, you may have a difficult time choosing which is the greater of two evils in part 2. I can’t wait to see which one you pick.

@shirette I do like to play Guen as a wary newcomer. She is the queen and she has been raised to face this eventuality but she does not see it as an opportunity, more like a burden. So she gives the cold shoulder to Arthur and decides to slowly befriend Lancelot and Morgana. She does not really care for the kingdom yet. I hope to have the chance to make her grow in many different ways ! (more of a fighter)
Other playthroughs : the queen lives for her family and her kingdom and wants to warm up to Arthur, but at her pace. I guess she has the same ideal as him. (she uses magic : dark or light, but is useless in strategy or with weapons) // the queen wants to live an adventure and is good with the military life. She does not see the world in Arthur’s way and is more short tempered in front of a treacherous situation (I mean she does not plan ahead). (fighter/strategy)
Well these are the playthroughs that were in my mind right now, but I am pretty sure I was able to play other ones too. Hehehe, after this, I want to go back and play again.

@poison_mara Oh my, if your Guen is able to do all of this, she sure is worthy to have her kingdom. Not sure what she will do with it afterwards. I guess she will aim for the world.
And as I am here, I have a question for you. When I read you I often see the word “evil” (okay, less than “poison” hehehe) but I’m not a native English speaker and I do not really understand the meaning you put in it. Do you imply evil as in Evil vs. Good? Or simply ruthless? Or a cold-hearted “beach” (funny to play in RPGs)?

@jeantown And I have a question for you too of course. Do you think you are going to write some plot-twists where Guen can “fail”? Well I did not want to use this word, but nothing else came to my mind. I mean, as this game is based on relationships, if Guen is willing to trust someone is there a chance to see him/her be a traitor? Same if she wants to kill someone and it appears to be a really bad idea. Or if she has this brilliant strategy but in fact even if her stats should keep her safe, there is the will of others and the randomness of some situations that will have an influence on the outcome.
In fact I do not really want an answer, I am just giving some thoughts.

Link please?

@Tehani I’m not a native too, so maybe I use the world in meanings natives don’t.
I’m Spanish and our evil is quite stronger word in the sense of the demoniac . But here I use it in rpg dungeons and dragons karma meter…

Mara the bard character is basically neutral evil with tendency to end in chaotical evil.

if you aren’t a d&d player i would try to explain Imagine Dark Vader he is lawful evil. Due he follows metodic paths and a code . Han Solo is Chaotic good like most of rogues.

My Mara just don’t cares rest of the universe, and follow her pure gain and discovers love manipulate people haven’t any issue to kill people, but not like a psycho she has to gain something, if she falls in love she is dominant and protective and would include that person in the equation like if were herself. Both tend to cheat and go bed with everyone pretty.

My Guen though, she is more like Palpatine so lawful evil. She decided that if she had to marry a king well, She would rule the kingdom , Hippie is all she hates childish, blind and idealist.

Also she is falling in love with a man Mordred, she has been seeing in her dreams since she was a kid, so she was frustrated in love ,

How do you get this dream guy

Don’t respond to the three love interest in any positive way

@poison_mara Hehehe I like how you explain. All the people willing to learn the “D&D karma meter” should read your post.
I get it, I was confused because for me “evil” alone is also linked to the demons and my brain did not know what to add with this (all the lawful/neutral/chaotic part). Thanks for sharing! My only conclusion is that I would not want to be in their “not useful” list!

Even if your “useful” lawful evil will kill you if you break their code or law. Neutral evil wont because you are still needed. Chaotic evil may kill you because it is Friday or he woke up in the wrong side of the bed.

@Pepper Oh my so this means 2/3 chances to die a gruesome death, this is epic! Hehehe I do not know if I should thank you for this precision.

Just like in real life showing that you are indispensable , useful and that your loss will result in a bigger headache to your master, boss and/or ally. Having initiative also helps. Chaotic evil may be psychopaths but they are not always stupid

@jeantown I cant wait for Mordred to come!
