Guenevere (WIP)

I say Mara is a cuddle monster covered by a layer of poison. Like those frogs who have poison secreting from their skin but on the inside they just want hugs man.

P.S. she’s a great source of inspiration for writing poison scenes. It’s how I wrote one in a oneshot I wrote a few weeks ago.

Well, we do now know about Mara’s weakness for cute kitties… But if the time comes for a poisoning in Guenevere, she will be the first person I ask for help.

Should we poison the kitties?

@Ramidel run fast and run far. Mara likes kitties

@Scrivener That’s exactly what I was about to say. @Ramidel I think you might be in trouble now. You probably shouldn’t eat or drink anything. Or sleep.

@jeantown great minds think alike.
@Ramidel or use anything that shows GPS location, talk to suspicious people, people who are kind/mean, small children, open spaces, enclosed spaces, parks, lakes, kitchens, fires, sharp objects, etc.

Nonsense! Mara loves me! She even gave me a glass of her special glowing green wine, wasn’t that nice of her?

@Ramidel RIP (rest in poison ) Die for wine no kitties cry for him .Funeral party tonight all kitties are invited

These would be my final stats.

As one might surmise from her reputation, my Guenevere is very well-educated, possessed of a sharp intellect, prim, and proper. She is very ambitious, since she approached the marriage with a calculating attitude, tempered by her also feeling dutiful for the sake of keeping her father and Cornwall safe. By the end of the chapter, she seems to have settled into a balance between the two aspects of herself, since she still intends to gain as much power as possible, but for the sake of helping the kingdom.

As mentioned before, she is aromantic and asexual though she acquiesces to Arthur, and only Arthur, in the marital bed out of duty as queen and wife. Arthur’s first time was also her first. Her thoughts about it every time are to go along with it for the sake of duty and get it over with. She does not derive pleasure from it, though she at least has the discretion to lie to Arthur about it being fantastic. My Guenevere is a rather goal-oriented, duty-focused sort. I thinks she is rather honest with herself about her heart having no place for romantic love. That being said, she does like Arthur and feels she will grow very fond of him in time, even though she will probably never love him.

There is the matter of Arthur’s vision. My Guenevere is too cynical and realistic to believe it could come to pass, though she does have a certain wistfulness in regretting that it cannot ever be realized. As such, while she will not be actively working towards it, neither will she be actively undermining it. She will go along with it when possible and work around it if she feels the need, such as when she had Hrothulf killed to make his people back off. Her ultimate goal is to make Britain as strong as possible, to become a queen respected for her responsible leadership.

My Guenevere is not unkind towards Lancelot, though she is trying to keep a certain distance, since she sensed his inappropriate feelings. Her thought when she detected the strange magic at work on her and Lancelot was literally, “Oh, no…”. She avoided talking about it with Lancelot, though she did confide in Morgana about it, and that it was strange since she is not attracted to Lancelot. When Lancelot indirectly broached the subject, she finally told him that she fully intends to be faithful to Arthur, and though she did not outright reject his pledge of devotion, her telling him that he may someday encounter another woman more worth of such was her subtle means of telling him that he needed to move on in time.

As one can expect, given her excellence in dark magic, she is very close to Morgana. She genuinely wants to be Morgana’s friend, though there is also the motivation of Morgana being a powerful ally.

Regarding the Mayday children being killed, I think I know my Guenevere well enough to predict that she will initially waver about killing innocent newborn children, but as always, she will remind herself of her duty as queen, and a queen must place the good of the kingdom over that of the few. She will regret only the necessity, seeing to the deed with a heavy heart, doing what she can for the families afterwards.

@Gadriel Wow, thank you!  This is incredibly helpful. When I hear exactly how someone is constructing their Guen, I can think through the whole game from that perspective and try to find anything that might seem inconsistent with that interpretation. I *think* that an aro/ace Guen who has sex with Arthur out of obligation should play out fairly consistently (it’s other kinds of aro/ace paths that are turning out to be a lot trickier). Let me know if you spotted anything that didn’t feel consistent with your character, and thanks again!

I am glad it helped, though as far as I can see, the narrative seems consistent enough for the Guenevere I have created.

For another aspect of her, I am pondering what my Guenevere will be like as a mother when she and Arthur finally beget a child. I think I know how it would go. An anachronistic reference, to be sure, but my Guenevere’s interactions with the child would most likely be of the Edwardian mode, immersing the youngling in an atmosphere of severe formality, treated as a little adult, empashizing and instilling discipline above all else.

She would certainly arrange the child’s marriage to be the most politically advantageous one, and whether you consider it flaw or strength, if the child were to protest the match due to not loving the groom, unless it was clear the groom would ill-treat them, my Guenevere would not halt it or have any sympathy whatsoever for what she considers immature whining. She ascribes very much to the school of thought that as far as royals and nobles are concerned, love is a luxury that one can seldom afford, as love more often than not ruins the family’s standing or even the realm. That is one major reason she considers herself fortunate that she is free of the capacity and inclination for romantic love.

It was a failure play lol I tried romance 3 to manipulate them. And because my Guen is a nymphomaniac. All in vain Morgana has spy devices to know from her tent what I did with Lancelot in the other part of camp lol. It hasn’t got the sense I dont tell her i kiss Lancelot or i like him i only try to bang her. She gets pissed you say Lancelot whatever I DONT I only flirt with him in my TENT no sense

@Gadriel If I’m able to make everything go as planned, I think you’ll be able to follow through on those intentions. I do think it will be interesting for Guenevere to have to decide if she’ll put her child in the same kind of situation she was put in (and deal with a child who may not want to be in that situation).

@poison_mara Yes, Morgana has an uncanny ability to know what happens between Guen and Lancelot. It’s like she has a sixth sense or something. Or maybe she knows Lancelot so well that she can tell from the way he’s acting whether or not something’s going on. In any case, in Book II you may be able to convince her that she doesn’t have anything to worry about, but her trust level will need to be high for that. Morgana is happy to be friends with Guen if Guen is involved with Lancelot, but she’s very unwilling to share Guen romantically with anyone but Arthur… for now, at least.

Why, Mara! Don’t tell me that you were thinking of piling Lance, Guen and Morgana all into bed together!

@Ramidel Judging from the queries I get rather regularly, quite a lot of people are thinking of that. Though not as many as want to know if G/L/A will be possible.

@Ramidel it was a experiment lol it was the first time i try kiss Barbie. My canon play is better i don’t kiss him faking im troubled saying im in love someone i couldnt tell more. So i got 3 love of my guen

I have one play i did with Morgan as the romance and other one to stay true to Arthur. I have no wish to bother with Lancelot no matter what. Womanizer is all he is and don’t like that at all. The male slut can drink the poisoned wine I gave him.

Mordred would be a good test to see how that goes.

@jjc73 Exactly kill Barbie with poison. But I think my Guen is eviliest. She fake being nice and caring, theoretically, she gives Arthur a good support while poison not only his mind trying to tear apart his own dreams.
Realizing his only real supporters and friends, treason him willingly during the years… And worse, my guen doesn’t love any of them a little. Now she just don’t care about them, they are puppets she hates.
My guess is my Guen who in secret studied dark magic ,his father’s kingdom is against dark magic ( in my mind lol,not canon) so she did a rite than shows her dark love or his other half, Mordred.
And so she is promised by Hippie all contrary to Mordred, I could feel his hatred for the hippie world Camelot is. Without order and strength with a great army, but zero purpose for it. If she has that army lol firs she would kill Lot and conquest his kingdom. She want unify England under a real strong realm, if she couldn’t have her man, the one in her mind and dreams, she wants POWER like second prize.

The funny thing is she hates Camelot because She believes take away her chances of meeting Mordred in real life, when is exactly the place with Mordred will appear.

I think my Guen would pact to devil to kill Hippie and the other two, she is tired of them and only knows them from a week!

@jjc73 I was going to say that Mara would agree with you re: Lancelot, but she beat me to it. In part 2, Guen should have some opportunities to let him know just how much she doesn’t appreciate his attentions (if that’s what she wants to do).

@poison_mara oh my… such evil… but I think you could legitimately headcanon that your Guen had a vision of Mordred before marrying Arthur, for reasons that will be revealed later (if all goes according to plan).

@poison_mara Yes, your Guen is the villainous of ours. Besides, I’m learning from the mentor of the mistress of poison such as yourself. Im not evil enough yet and only able to be your follower. Teach me the ways of poison!

@jeantown That would be nice and definitely will tell him such. Hes annoying to me, which means you did great at having created characters that can be hated. Maybe should throw in Emma for mara to poison for pure fun. >:)
