Guenevere (WIP)

I second that  Arguen to the win

I’m in favour of Guendragon. Like Pendragon but…Guen.

You get it, I don’t know why I’m explaining it.

Anyway, Morguen ftw and forever.

But that could be Guen/Arthur and Guen/Morgana and Guen/Mordred, right???

Not Morgana. She’s not a Pendragon.

Technically, ‘Morguen’ would work for Mordred/Guen, too…

Oh my. So many ships so little combinations.

All these Arthurian lit names sound alike. There’s like 5 different Elaines. And some people have several different names, like Vivien/Nimue. It makes shipping names… complicated.

Lance/Morgana would be like…Morgance!!

It’s difficult when two names don’t fit properly for ships. The best I could come up with was Lancelorgana.

It needs to flow; preferably with corresponding vowels and its so irritating when it doesn’t.

@bellamyb Lovely aesthetics! I got some genuine inspiration from those…

For ship names, I personally would vote for putting Guen first since she’s the MC:

Guengana
Guencelot
Guenthur

…but that’s just me.

I’m still sad that the way I’m writing Sir Erec and Sir Ector, no one is ever going to ship them together. They would literally have the best ship name ever.

I don’t know who would ship Lance/Elaine but their names are not incompatible as well. Like Lanceine?? Or Arthur/Lance being Larthur. Lancelot pretty much matches everyone. :relaxed:

Now this is my type of conversation.

@jeantown As long as they’re not related we can probably ship them too. :joy:

Holy cow I love your aesthetics, especially the Morana one. What apps did you use to make the aesthetics?

Thanks. I used pic collage, I think that’s the one. Now I’m thinking about making a Lance/Morgana and a Lance/Arthur but oh why good medieval pics are so hard to find??

Thanks! The Lance/Morgana one will make my fan girl heart so happy. But regarding the medieval pictures, I always get upset that there aren’t many high fantasy stories getting good adaptations. Have you tried getting pictures from The Shannara Chronicles? I haven’t seen the show but it has some cool costumes (armor-wise; I think they’re called gambesons?).

 Lol, i laughed so hard at “Erector” ship. Best ship name ever truly

Seeing the Myers-Briggs and Zodiacs being brought up reminded me I never did mine…or at least, not from what I can remember.

Canon Guen: Virgo. September. ESFJ.
Ace Guen: Scorpio. October. ENTJ.

Which means poor Morgana is the only introvert surrounded by these damn extroverts!

I also looked up zodiac compatibility for fun…and was surprised how on point they are for how I see their relationships.

Lance/Morgana (Gemini/Capricorn): “They each bring their own particular qualities to the relationship. Once they allow one another to be themselves — rather than measuring one another against impossible standards — they can blend well to make a whole. Theirs is a challenging relationship, but if they can learn from each other it’s definitely worth it!”

Arthur/Lance (Leo/Gemini): “Their youthful, even childlike view of the world. This couple can be a great success due to their optimism and explorative natures.”

Canon!Guen/Arthur (Virgo/Leo): “It’s their effectiveness as a couple. Metaphorically and literally, Leo commands attention and respect by showing people what they are made of socially, and following through on new ideas motivated only by fun and excitement. Virgo works hard behind the scenes, scheduling appointments and following up on details Leo has lost interest in. Their personalities, opposite in so many ways, makes theirs a highly complementary love match.”

Canon!Guen/Morgana (Virgo/Capricorn): “It’s their amazing dedication, and to similar goals. Both partners enjoy security and material objects, and work very well together to achieve their goals — especially if the goal involves shared resources. Their mutual interests make theirs a highly pleasant relationship.”

Ace!Guen/Arthur (Scorpio/Leo): “It’s their shared sense of dedication to one another and the projects they partake in. Both Signs have very powerful, yet strategically different, personalities. They are seen as a strong pair by others, and their dedication to fulfilling their desires makes theirs a strong love match.”

Ace!Guen/Lancelot (Scorpio/Gemini): “The strength they have when they function as a unit. They are both winners who refuse to give up, making theirs a relationship that never settles for second best.”

Oh my gosh, that’s terrible! Understandable though, that she needs/wants to feel powerful after being so dis-empowered via the forced marriage.

And now I understand the inner psychology behind why my little brother (who is somehow much more worldly and mature) can’t make it through a single conversation without insulting me! :triumph:
Morgana will probably break up with her if she did anything that could be construed as cheating. (Morgana did, after all, make Guen promise that nothing was going to happen with Lancelot.) But oh, if/when Guen tells romanced Morgana that Lance kissed her against her will… :boom:
Mmm…but the thing is, though Skanky Guen’s definitely one of my more selfish Guens, and she’s definitely not in love with Lance, I don’t think she’d throw him under the bus like that. Probably her most admirable moment was confessing that killing Hrthulf was her idea rather than let Bretta be exiled, and I don’t think that aspect of her has changed in the past 3 years. Unfortunately, I don’t think it’s going to be doing her any favors here. So…I guess it’s character development time!

On a side note,

Jerk Guen’s going to be laughing hysterically when that confrontation happens (she’s hated his guts ever since he kissed her against her will).

Eep!! :grinning: And now I am going to take a quantum leap and assume that Galehaut is the 5th character in the enchanted forest, and start deciding which Guen is going with whom!
I love how open you are to letting the parameters of the story create development for your Guens!
Thank you! Although realizing that a Skanky Guen/Morgana romance will not happen long term, I had to create a new Guen to compensate (it just wouldn’t be fair if Morgana found love less often than everyone else)…and then a second for the Lancelot/Morgana poly…and a third because I wanted to try to make Arthur have a mental breakdown and I was on a Guen-creating roll. So…THANKS A LOT!

(I posted character portraits for 2 of them in the old post 6345. Just click on the up arrow on the post number on the right and type that number in if anybody’s interested.)

I’d imagine she would have a few terse words with Guen too, if that happens. Though I do like the option as its a human (if still harmful) way to vent your frustrations towards something you can’t completely blame Lancelot for.

You shared yours, so I felt like I’d pitch in mine. ^.^

WhiteMage!Guen/Morgana (Cancer/Capricorn): “Their utter dedication to one another and their mutual commitments toward shared goals. Both are lovers of quality and of beautiful, luxurious things, and neither shirks at the idea of a little hard work if that’s what it takes (in fact, Capricorn would rather be working than almost anything!). Their shared passions, sense of responsibility and morality make theirs a highly compatible relationship.”

WhiteMage!Guen/Arthur (Cancer/Leo): “Their mutual commitment to a sincere relationship. Together this pair can share a supportive, positive and healthy vibe. People see them as a winning combination, and their mutual desire for a secure, loving relationship makes them strive for harmony.”

Edit!

I think I forgot to mention, but I do love the creativity Guinevere brings to light magic rather than using it purely in a reactive manner.
