Guenevere (WIP)

Oops my bad.

My itchy fingers can’t wait to tap through more.

@Cecilia_Rosewood

@JLBH Best place to check for progress reports is my blog: newarcana.tumblr.com. Sadly, I’ve been having a rough time with both health and life, so I haven’t made much useful progress in a while. But I am still writing as much as I can, and I’m always hopeful for the future. :slight_smile:

I think you should put that explanation of the Gueneverse language in the FAQ. The reasoning behind stylistic choices like that fascinates me, and I’m sure other people find that kind of stuff interesting, too. :slight_smile:

Could Gun use reputation as some sort of shield ? afteall if she has reputation for kindness not many people would believe she is some dark black sorceress.

btw Jean hope you dont forget the cheats you promised me

Edit : Jean I hope you dont forget the cheats you promised me

without that I it sounded too threatening.

Would it be possible to get a bunch of Wootz Steel equipment for the military? (Primarily the knights and particularly distinguished soldiers or officers?)

I’m wondering because it has a legendary reputation (17th to 19th century English people [and some others] investigating it played a big part in modern metallurgy due to the use of high carbon alloys not yet being known) but it was exported to ancient Europe I hear so I was wondering if we could obtain some (sure it’d be massively expensive but Wootz Steel gear would be worth it in my opinion)

I’m still working on that master FAQ for you, @jeantown I’m about 2,000 posts in. (:

You’re less than halfway done! But good progress!

You’re going faster than I bet anyone else could of XD

I probably could go faster, I’m just too lazy to actually do it. :stuck_out_tongue:

Thanks dude I’ll make sure to check it out! @jeantown

I always kind of imagined Arther looking like an older version of the old animated movies. (: It’ll be really cool when casting comes out, I bet it influences what I think people look like!

@Mirabella Good idea! I’ll try to do that when I get a chance – or wait and see how @Shockbolt’s FAQ turns out.

Possibly? I have to wait and see how things play out. Certainly I would like people to notice – and maybe not believe it? – if Guen acts in a way that’s inconsistent with her reputation.

Hm, I don’t think I promised any specific cheats, just that I did intend to put some in someday.

Guen’s fantasy-universe is a loose amalgam of the European Middle Ages from about 400-1400, and even though it’s a fantasy world, I don’t want to include anything so specific (like with a brand name) as to feel jarringly out of place – Guen isn’t going to pull out a box of Band-Aids – that would just be too immersion-breaking for me. That isn’t to say that some special way of making steel could never come up, if it was relevant to the plot, just that it wouldn’t be Wootz Steel specifically.

@Shockbolt Wow!!! Kudos and thanks, and I can’t wait to see it! :smile: My Arthur and Merlin are definitely influenced by the Sword in the Stone. Seems like there’s a lot of new King Arthur stuff coming out soon! I suppose Arthurian stuff will be really passe by the time I finish my game. Oh, well.

NJG laughs :laughing::laughing:.

A first aid kit under her skirt? :laughing:.

@jeantown
Nope Your Game will be the Pinnacle Of Arthurian Gamebooks.
Just like Deus ex is The heir to the throne of Conspiracy.

Agreed. In fifty years, everyone will think all the King Arthur stories are just Guenevere fanfics. :slight_smile:

Nice to hear that coming from Fairy tale master such as Grimm. :smiley:

@jeantown if the people of Britain can be suspicious of Morgana because of her magic, can that also occur with Arthur if he becomes “hardened” and completely changes?

@NJG And no Neosporin, either. :smile:

@CaesarCzech @OtherGrimm awwww :blush:

Hardened Arthur may eventually come to dislike or distrust Morgana, but neither he nor Lancelot will ever believe that dark magic itself makes a person untrustworthy. Unlike most of the population, Arthur and Lancelot were both exposed to different kinds of magic during their childhoods, so they’re not subject to superstition or unfounded paranoia.

I really love this game so far, and was rather annoyed and gutted that it wasn’t finished:’) I was hoping if you knew an estimate date for the actual game to be finished, or just the second half of book 2. Will there be any more after book 2??

@jeantown

Yup. First aid kits and the like are waaaaay too modern.

Although I can’t get the image of Guen with a first aid kit in her skirt out if my mind. :laughing:.
