Guenevere (WIP)

@Jeantown everyone (Lance and Tilda) seem to know that my Guen is unhappy in her marriage and the other countries will probably know about Arthur being dumb with the sheep and letting his wife get captured and country be attacked. If Julia was part of the story, would all the tragedies (I feel like my cannon game is going to end like a Shakespearean tragedy with everyone dead) faced by Guen because of her marriage impact her feelings about Guen, because Julia could have gone through all of that if she married Arthur? Did we have the option to tell Lance to kill Meliguant and bring Guen a war trophy from him for us or to tell him to bring the sword and an alive Meliguant to us because we want to make him into our zombie? Does Lancelot getting married happen first or does Mordread happen first, because I’m ending the relationship with him when he’s married (How could he be cruel enough to force another women into an unhappy relationship where she has to cower and live in fear of the queen’s possible wrath? )? Would Arthur know if we had a relationship with Lance, but ended it before he found out? Since we know that the double gangers disappeared, would this make it easier for a Guen who returns to Britain to prove her identity and what would Arthur do when he finds no Guen at MichalsMount?

Wow 4k+ posts my head hurts. @jeantown I hope you been taking it easy and resting when you need to. I just have one question how do you get the dream scene for Mordard, yes for all this time it still eludes me.

Refuse to go with Arthur and Lance to Merlin’s tower. Then, when Morgana comes to check on you, tell her to go away.

Greetings from adulting hell… I’ve gotten even more sick, and I think my new house has mold. Also, the basement floor heaved up and cracked all over, and the washing machine broke. I’d like to get off this train, please.

Anyway…

Not a very military navy. Ships are mostly used for transport rather than battling at sea. Same for Frankmarch; they have enough ships to move an army across the channel, but nobody’s going to be having any massive ship-to-ship battles at this point.

She can if she likes, but slings are peasant weapons. How about some nice throwing daggers?

This isn’t an inventory-building game. But if you’d like to imagine your Guen killing a bear and taking trophies, or walking around with an arsenal of weapons under her skirt, go for it.

It’s about as high as Guen can achieve at this point in her life. It’s higher than your average castle guard for sure; maybe about the level of a less-experienced knight.

I have several different reactions for Arthur in mind, depending on the circumstances and his relationship with Guen. Asking what went wrong is almost certainly going to be one of them (as is simply not believing the accusation, if his relationship with Guen is strong).

I’d like to have one toward the end somehow, but at the moment I have no idea where I’d put it. Still, I’d say chances of eventual dragoning are high.

Hmm, that ought to be there. I want to rewrite that entire dialogue with Lancelot, so when I do, I’ll try to make sure that gets in somehow.

It’s there if Guen has indicated any romantic interest in Morgana.

That would be a major spoiler. All I can say is that for each branch, there will be long-term consequences of not choosing that branch.

Actually, Morgana unfortunately can’t end up at Michaelsmount. It doesn’t work with the timing and overall movement options, or with Morgana’s priorities.

Yeah, others have asked for an option to specify. When I wrote it, my intention was that (as @Elfwine says), rumor doesn’t distinguish between ā€œthe queen personally killed someoneā€ vs ā€œthe queen had one of her knights kill someone.ā€ But too many people have taken it for a continuity bug, so I’ll make it more specific when I revise.

Elaine isn’t really the flirty type, but Canon Guen will still be able to be jealous. Elaine’s presence in part 3 is really just a cameo, so Guen will be able to form an initial opinion of her, but not really become friends until part 4.

That’s a really interesting thought… that Julia is sitting somewhere thinking, ā€œwow, I really dodged an arrow on that one.ā€ (Or maybe she’s thinking that she and Arthur would have been much happier together than Arthur and Guen are, I don’t know.) I’ll keep that in mind if/when I bring Julia in and develop her some more.

I’m going to expand the options for what Guen can tell Lance to do. (Which doesn’t necessarily mean he’ll be able to do it, but Guen should be able to give more particular instructions.)

Mordred’s conception is in part 3; Lancelot marries Elaine in part 4.

Not immediately. Maybe someday.

She can make that exact point, but people may still have a hard time believing her.

Be confused and upset, and very worried about her.

Trying! @OtherGrimm answered your question correctly.

Oh, that seems a shame. I kind of expected the MC to order the Camelot navy to destroy the Frank ships while the army kills the Frank soldiers.

And developing the Camelot Navy with huge battleships is totally out of the question, is it not?

Throwing knives, eh? The MC can be an assassin?:grinning::grinning::grinning::grinning::grinning::grinning::grinning::grinning:. That would be nice. I think my MC (who is madly in love with Lance) could use that to eliminate Lancelot’s future wife (whose name escapes me).

Now back to the subject of slings, shouldn’t it depend on the quality of the sling? A peasant will probably have poor quality leather, while a queen would have very high quality leather, or possibly even silk.

:smiling_imp::smiling_imp::smiling_imp::smiling_imp::smiling_imp::smiling_imp::smiling_imp::smiling_imp::smiling_imp:. That ought to take other attackers by suprise!

If only the MC has that after Grimald cuts the MC’s ropes in the ship.

Ah. What sword skill should I need to challenge Arthur to a duel and win? What about Lancelot?

Also, how good is Mordred with a sword?

Edit:

Do Molotov cocktails exes in the Guenverse?

In that times there were commoners weapons and noble only weapons. You could be an ultra rich commoner like a sailing trader but you could never use legally a sword and shield. Nobles preferred death that picked a peasant weapon to defend themselves, because knights had to use a concrete type of weapons after a ritual . Before rituals they had to use empty clean shield. A hilarious explanation of all these rules are in the first Five chapters of The Quijote . When he tried to be named knight

@OtherGrimm thanks. I never sent Morg away lol.
Also remember nobility at this time had non useful weapons more like showcase gold blades with jewel studded hilts for get togethers or just to show off.
@jeantown where I am there is a heat wave. How I miss rain.

To the best of my knowledge, naval warfare in medieval Europe was limited in scope before the development of the cannon.

Naval warfare played a more prominent role in the ancient world, some of the decisive ancient battles like Salamis and Actium were naval battles. The vikings also had naval battles. Before the cannon was invented, navies used catapults, ramming and boarding.

I haven’t played this before, purely because the little annoying part of me HATES the name. But that’s my problem, not yours, especially considering I LOVE, not I dare say I am INFATUATED (yay big words) with this game, I love the setting and the characters. And Morgana.
If you would add anything, I’d like it to be more scenes with Morgana. Although there’s a good reason that you’re the author, seeing as if I could change the game I would make EVERY scene about Morgana,

I was familiar with the ancient use of naval force (Athens in particular was famous for it), which was why I specified medieval Europe. I’d forgotten about the vikings.

@jeantown if/when Guen has a baby will there be a option for her to try and keep the infant away from Arthur (or maybe Lance)? If asked why she could say that she doesn’t want her child to be incompetent like Arthur (or a womanizer like Lance).

@jeantown
On the topic of Guen’s child… if Guen sleeps with both Lance and Arthur will the child automatically always be one of theirs or will it be random?

I know it says you can only romance 3 people but it would be good if there was another girl romance

While I assume it’s unlikely to happen, if there had to be a fourth romance I would be ecstatic if it was a person of the Fae variety.

@skulls: Arthur isn’t incompetent, just insanely optimistic/boyish; in fact, if I recall it’s stated that he’s actually a very good king. Wouldn’t your child turning out to be a womanizer be fine if they turned out as caring, honorable and talented with the blade as Lance is? Also, it’s possible that your child could be a maneater even if influenced by uncle/daddy lance.

@NJG: you are oddly determined to achieve the presence of this sling. Why? If anybody was going to use slings it’d probably be the Saxons or some unforeseen enemy.

@Jeantown: peanut butter! Your house situation sounds like the blows. Hope it turns for the better soon.

I can’t remember my previous question still or what else I was going to ask - to the nine hells with forgetful mind, so I’m make u[p a new question on the spot!

righto. let’s see.

So thirty and forties in the four skills is basically mediocre at best or is that just the case with combat? If it’s the case with all the skills, me Guens have a long way ta go.

Off topic, have you seen the new Mad Max?

I wonder if there’s any chance that Arthur will get better at cough cough ā€œsexā€ . And will mordred be conceived first or will guen set the actions that lead to her getting pregnant first? Because I can’t imagine trying for a baby with Arthur after he’s gotten his half sister pregnant.

Definitely not! You can’t even trust what Lancelot says half the time, he has no type of honor, the only thing he has going for himself is his sword skills.

:unamused:, sure he is.

@skulls
What makes you think that about Lancelot?

He’s a complete hypocrite that contradicts himself all the time.

At the risk of sounding as dense as the Man of La Mancha and twice as obnoxious:

What is he hypocritical about? What does he contradict himself about?
