Guenevere (WIP)

Well, I’m waiting to see what possible basis Arthur would have to be unsure of that before trying to weigh how my Guen would see it.

Arthur has to at least acknowledge the possibility he’s wrong about her reliability, and I suspect a hardened Arthur is going to be more willing to overcorrect, although that may be more dialogue than the plot.

Pardon me if someone already asked, but will there be any other opitions for dating? I mean, will a 4th choice be added later in the game?

Mordred (Arthu’s evil-ish son with Morgana because evilmagicstuff (not from Morgana, of course)) will also be romanceable after he becomes an adult.

Well, yes, but… her relationships are the fun part, at least for a lot of people.

Silly. :stuck_out_tongue: By “everyone,” I mean all of the main characters, of course.

I know, I know… it’s killing me.

Let’s not leap to the conclusion that Arthur necessarily/always turns on Guen. She may not even end up a prisoner on some paths; I have to wait and see how part 6 develops.

That is the cutest rat I have ever seen.

@SwanMaiden Thanks. Reassurance is much appreciated.

@Nasdaxow Also much appreciated. I’ve likewise had the thought that releasing unfinished stuff is more work in the long run – like, if I were to release the Frankmarch and Camelot branches in the fall, then I’d end up spending another two months revising them, when I could be progressing with the Michaelsmount branch instead. If I hold out, the total amount of time before people get to play the end of part 2 will be less. In any case, I will take encouragement from the models of Martin and Rothfuss.

@valentineheart Just as @bomsasa says, Mordred will be an option. I also hope to layer in at least one other f/f option once I’ve completed the whole series.

LOL @jeantown so there is a powerful possibility than Poison queen won’t be jailed and accused? I mean she will do whatever it takes to have people and army to her side. She won’t bang other guy gal, or flirt. Except Mordred and nobody knows until end. She won’t have a child with other dude and she would be always sweet and caring except with enemies.

Also I could imagine poison instead do stuff for up her skills do stuff to up her fame and political image, kissing smelling peasant babies, sewing clothing for poor people. Creating as a light magic user a veteran and orfan hospital. … Always i have an option to say how much Poison does that for country and up her own power. Not because Hippie stuff Buuuu hippie :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes:

I agree with some of the others, it might be hard to wait longer for some of us but I would much rather have the three paths completed in their entirety and polished than a work in progress of some of them. It’ll be worth the wait I am certain.

First off, I have realized that it is far too much work to continue to refer to myself in the third person and so will stop. Lazy.

Secondly; @jeantown as an aspiring writer myself I must agree that you should take your time. Work on your writing until YOU feel it’s done, until you are happy with it/feel it’s perfect; then and only then should you disperse your work to the commoners at a time of your choosing.

Editing before I feel I’ve finished a project ALWAYS throws me off, I get mad at the mistakes I’ve made and then take like infinity more years rewriting what I had then I would have before I started the edit; the same goes for showing my work before I’m ready, in fact even more so.

Thirdly: Arthur? Spazing??? ON GUEN?!!! Noooooooooooooo! My Hawt can’t take the stress! I’ll be so saaad.

Fourthly: too many Guens and too much lazy to put how all my all Guens would respond to being potentially thrown in prison, so I’ll just put two for now.

PE Guen would likely be resoundingly surprised by her Arthur given jail sentence, She’d also be quite proud of him for making such harsh decision as she would think that would be something he would be incapable of but she’d also feel slighted that the dullard had moved against her; above all whatever the reason Arthur put her in jail, PE Guen would belong there.

Somewhere inside, A Guen would be hurt that Arthur decided to put her in jail but overall she would trust in Arthur’s decisions; if Arhtur thought she belonged in prison then she surely must have done something wrong. If Arthur wrongly accused her and threw her in jail for no reason, A Guen probably wouldn’t be too offended as not only would she be proud of him for suspecting regardless of who she was, A Guen would recall that Arthur couldn’t tell her apart from her clones even though they woke up in the same bed; in her mind that’s just how her soulmate is, it’s why she loves him .

If Lance stayed loyal/still loved A Guen regardless of her demeanor towards him and the multiple spurnings, then A Guen’s jail time would likely be quite the bonding experience for the two of them (much to A Guen’s chagrin).

@Jeantown, okay couple of questions.

1: Without spoiling anything, would making Meligaunt your servant make him a mindless tool or would he still have the ability to reason but be bound to serve? If the latter, would he be serving against his will and therefore hate the Guen that took control of him or would due to some magical reason (say a battle of wills) he actually consent and serve Guen of his volition?

2: If Fae crossbreeding is how Half-Fae/Fae Humans come about, how on earth do Fae Animals come about? Do the Fae turn into animals and “do the do” with a regular animal or do Fae just come in varying types, and those born in animal visage crossbreed with animals?

I had a third question but can’t remember at this moment and so will ask the question If I can remember it later.

@jeantown, just take all the time you need. Even in this early process your writing has been well written and extremely entertaining, so I’m sure waiting a little while longer for the update will be worth it.

If my guen would be jailed by Arthur she would plan his downfall.
My guen and arthur are in a neutral friendly relationship.
She would probably look into black magic curses.

@faewkless So if Arthur has what to all appearances is good reason to jail Guenevere, acting based on that would turn her into an open enemy?

No.
My guen already was going for the thrown.
She was just being friends with arthur cause she felt like it.
Now she feels like killing a king.

@jeantown

Ah. Well, sometimes, the other characters have to remain in the background while the MC has to shine!

And, to be honest, I actually hoped for a scene in which the MC will shine. So naturally, when I saw the option to go to Camelot, I selected it.

Also, all this talk about getting jailed got me thinking, could this happen?

“Guards! Throw the queen in the dungeon!” shouts Arthur.

“Yes, your majesty.” says the guards as they escort me.

[A few minutes later, when the MC is in the dungeon]

The guards (including the guard captain) are arguing about something. Then they all nod to each other, and approach me.

The guard captain reaches into his pocket and takes out the keys. He then unlocks my cell.

He looks at me as he unlocks my handcuffs and says,

“Your majesty, I don’t believe these accusations of infidelity. So the guards and I think that we should release you. After all, you were there for us in our time of need and have proven your loyalty to Britain. What are your orders?”

Then a guard gives me a sword

What do you all think? If the MC has the support of the military, perhaps they will be useful allies?

Edit:

@jeantown, do slings exist in the Guenverse?

In another topic, Guen doesn’t seem to do much for her country. Maybe she won a war, but mostly because of personal reasons than the actual country’s need or feelings. So far, her adventure has focused a lot in her life, but barely in any changes her country suffered. Either by becoming stronger or weaker, will she ever do anything related to that?

@poison_mara Yeah, I don’t know exactly how things will work in part 6, but my suspicion is that some Guens will be imprisoned and some won’t. The Poison Queen will likely have gained so many supporters that she won’t be put in prison… but I do reserve the right to change how things work; part 6 is a long way off.

@derekmetaltron and and @skulls and @Lazarus Thanks! I certainly do hope to make it worth waiting for.

Well, I’m sure there will be many playthroughs in which that doesn’t happen.

This.

I reserve the right to change my mind about this later, but my current concept is that not only do the fae feel more of an affinity with animals than with humans, animals can cross more easily into the otherworld. So there’s been much more breeding between animals and fae over the centuries, and, as opposed to a few isolated half-blood humans, animals with fae blood have been prevalent enough to breed with each other. So to get back to your question, fae can take multiple forms to interact with the inhabitants of this world, though they don’t have infinite shape-shifting abilities – just some fluidity that varies from fae to fae.

Yep; that’s the point of the branches. If I can write them the way I want, Guen will get to shine on all of them (in different ways). As for the guard captain releasing Guen, something like that could indeed happen, in theory.

I can’t think why they wouldn’t, but I also don’t forsee them having any role in the story. Why do you ask?

We’ll get there. It’s going to be a long series.

@jeantown

Ah. That’s exactly the reason why my MC is doing everything to get the loyalty of the military. I knew drinking that cup of ale was important!

Speaking of which, does Camelot (or Britain) have a navy?

Um, perhaps the MC could be heavily-armed in case of unexpected situations?

I kind of expected a queen to have many weapons at her disposal to protect herself in case all her bodyguards are dead.

Speaking of which, could the MC get more weapons? Perhaps we can go hunting and kill a bear? Then take the hide and place it on our room as a trophy?

Edit:

Is having a 38 sword skill high?

I can actually imagine Guen imprisoned behind accusations of treason, however I can also imagine Arthur (being the softy that he is) standing there with her asking what went wrong between their marriage.

This might be slight off topic and very late, but my new head cannon for Lancolet’s apperence is from Night at the Museum III.

Is there going to be a fight with a dragon at some point? I really want sword!Gwen to be able to fight and kill a dragon to protect the kingdom! Or at least a mention of Lancelot fighting one and bringing Gwen a trophy.

Also is there an option for a Gwen not romancing Lance to appreciate the trophies? That always bugs me, that even though Nice!Gwen would totally understand why he wanted to be away from her and she would appreciate the gesture but there’s no positive reaction to them on any of my play throughs.

Also why is the butterfly option with Morgana at the fireworks there some times but not others?

Would it be too much of a spoiler to ask how badly things will be damaged if nobody goes to Michealsmount? Is there a situation where that’s where Morgana ends up?

@jeantown

I found something weird:

“Thank you,” he says, though he doesn’t look particularly grateful. “I’ve heard a great deal about you, your majesty. You made quite a name for yourself at the Battle of Badon Hill. Rumor has it that you executed Hrothulf the Saxon, against your husband’s wishes. Did his death have the effect you were hoping for?”

I didn’t execute Hrothulf. I ordered Sir Bretta to execute him, then I took his crest, then Sir Bretta spent 1 year on exile.

And this is located when you talk to Meligaunt.

@jeantown When Elaine first shows up in Book III, will she flirt with Lancelot? Just wondering because of Canon Guen’s jealousy problem.

Flirting with Canon Guen’s lover is THE fastest way to get on her bad side…which can be UGLY. (I started to show that side of her in Book II when Canon Guen gleefully let the sheep rip Tilda’s dresses to shreds.) :smiling_imp:

On the other hand, if Elaine’s not trying to steal her man in Book III, Canon Guen will probably be nice and polite and welcoming…at least until Elaine marries Lance in Book IV. :rage: (If it happens like this, I feel kind of bad for poor Elaine, having her new friend suddenly turn into her worst enemy.)

Thanks!

@NJG What’s weird about rumor assuming that Bretta had to have Guen’s approval?

“You ordered it” and “you did it with your own hands” aren’t that different.
