This is on the list of things I’d like to do as a fun add-on for the commercial release, starting with the possibilty of recruiting the fae wolf Guen can encounter in Frankmarch. Part 3 will have some more fae animals in the enchanted forest, so that would be a good time to get another one, too. The big question is, if Guen has more than one fae pet, will they get along with each other?

Oh, it’s not that they can’t use normal pigeons… it’s just that they don’t, only because there’s no plot reason to have messenger pigeons, at least not yet. (If this is about getting the Franks to call off their army before it destroys anything… could a pigeon fly across the Channel, and if so, how long would that take? And is it an African or European pigeon? )
Both of those would be really interesting and good to include. It’s all a question of how many variables I can juggle. So the answer is maybe? I’ll have to see.

Merlin is Guen’s main source of training, since he’s close at hand in Camelot. Guen can get to know Vivien better eventually, and Vivien may be willing to help her develop her skills even more. That will happen in part 4.
I think they’re kind of apples and oranges. There’s a strong chaotic element to Merlin’s magic, while Vivien’s is more practical and controlled. So it depends on what you want.

I don’t know. I want to be sensitive to the issue of forcing unwanted affection; I want the kiss from Lancelot to be the only time anyone ever touches Guen in a way she might not want; it’s meant to be a big problematic deal and only happen once in the entire series. So I’d need to be 100% sure that Guen was interested in Morgana that way if I were to write Morgana making the first move. I guess that could be done easily enough, though.
Ooooooh, I do have plans for this. Just because Lance has sworn to defend Guen’s honor doesn’t mean he won’t completely go off on her if pushed too far. I can’t wait to write some moments where both Arthur and Lance finally lose patience with Guen.
