Thanks for that, just glancing at her Wikipedia entry shows how much material there is on her and her relationship with Arthur, Guen and the rest of the Arthurian mythology. Should have a more detailed look later on.
Be careful! Its a very slippery slope that I avoid for a reason. Reading the Fate series versions is good enough for me, thank you very much!
Ignorance is a flaw.
But flaws arenāt inherently bad.
But you should try to get rid of flaws to be as perfect as possible.
But being perfect is impossible and subjective
Thats why iām biased against ignorance.
Its me attempting to make the world a little more perfect.
But realizing this about perfection can make you more flawed as you realize fighting for perfection is in some ways futile.
By this logic I am more ignorant than most and I realize it so I attempt to fight it which may or may not work.
This my mindset.
(Ask questions if more information is needed)
Your logic is very⦠scattered and, might I just say⦠broken⦠No offense intended, but while perfection is impossible, KNOWING something is impossible doesnāt make you flawed. Most people donāt try to work towards perfection, or they do KNOWING its impossible because it is honestly something to work towards, even if its impossible.
Scattered and confusing.
So itās a flaw, but itās not a bad thing, because . . .perfection is subjective anyway.
I am confused on multiple levels.
Thats my mindset because I hate working towards impossible goals and iām naturally apathetic.
So if you told me to work towards world peace.
I wouldnāt because thats impossible.
(Basically)
And I know about others who work towards impossible goals. I just didnāt bother to write it
Sorry @Elfwine my mind is a paradox you may never understand my logic or reasoning.
World Peace IS a good goal, even if impossible. However, thatās not something that can be definitively said to be impossible. There are a number of, no doubt immoral, methods that havenāt been tried yet but could be possible in the next few decades considering how technology is advancing, such as implanting everyone in the world with some sort of control device.
Or, humanity will end up being enlightened and obtaining world peace without such methods. Itās far from impossible, its simply improbable.
It is a good goal.
But I still feel that its impossible.
There wonāt be an end to wars just temporary breaks. And we call those breaks peace.
Can we not talk about world peace?
I donāt really care about it.
Wow⦠May I ask what is really with you? Why would you not care about such a thing? If a legitimate world peace could be obtained, the senseless death caused by such war would stop. I know thats hopelessly idealistic, but itās still something you could work towards!
Can you guys please take it to PMs? None of this has to do with the game, and people arenāt going to want to read through the last 50 or so posts of you guys debating about stuff.
Not meaning to be rude, but Iād like the thread to stop getting derailedā¦
Well, in equal candor, if you have something you want to talk about as relates to the game instead, Iām all ears.
One thing Iād like to mention:
āSome people have inspired whole countries to great deeds because of the power of their vision. And so could he. Not because he dreams about marching hordes, or world domination, or an empire of a thousand years. Just because he thinks that everyoneās really decent underneath and would get along just fine if only they made the effort, and he believes that so strongly it burns like a flame which is bigger than he is. Heās got a dream and weāre all part of it, so that it shapes the world around him. And the weird thing is that no one wants to disappoint him. Itād be like kicking the biggest puppy in the universe. Itās a kind of magic.ā
ā Terry Pratchett, Men at Arms
Anyone else thinking Jean is referencing this with Arthur? Intentionally or otherwise.
Arthur and Carrot feel very like minded.
Iām not sure itās intentional but yes that sounds very much like arthur.
Extremely idealistic but he doesnāt desire ruling the world or an everlasting empire.
He just wants people to try to get along and wants them to stop fighting.
This fits arthur very well.
Like a finely tailored suit
And many politicians had a dream in s XX and being extremely idealistic about their utopias. About the great golden camelot they will create that will survive 1000 years. Hitler, Mao, Stalin, Pol Pot⦠Robespierre. Huxley and George Orwell even HG Wells had written good examples about the dangers of idealistic leaders their dreams often ended in a bloody paranoia
Hitler, Mao, Stalin, Pol Pot, Robespierre etc. are not exactly people Iād list as convinced āeveryone is all really decent underneath and would get along just fine if they made the effortā, though.
And certainly not the people responsible for the fictional dystopias (maybe not in H.G. Wells, Iām less familiar with his stuff).
Never mention Hitler.
It might end badly here.
(Erring on the side of caution)
Also didnāt hitler have some ideals?
āSome idealsā and an optimistic view of human nature do not mean the same thing, though.
Carrot and Arthur have both, but the US Founding Fathers had the former without any particular disposition towards the latter.
i never wrote ideals = dangerous leaders. I just trying to imply idealistic leaderships arenāt just because ideas the best outcome possible for humanity. There were tons of examples of not idealistic leaders being terrible too.
You misunderstand.
You said Hitler didnāt agree with idealistic leaders.
I said that Hitler was an idealistic leader.
I never said you said idealistic leaders are dangerous.
What I mean is
Hitler is a hypocrite.
And lets shut up about hitler before a mod breaks my ribs with their banhammers.
