@Ponku Fair warning, I do intend to make that a tough choice (whether to comfort Arthur or Morgana first after It happens), at least for Guens who care about both of them.
You’ll have to try it both ways and see which one is less painful.
@Durxa haha, I do think it will be a shock for some people when they find out just how much of a tragedy Arthurian legend really is. It’s common for Arthurian stories to start out seeming happy and hopeful, and then descend into a mire of failure. I suspect that was initially to do with the medieval attitude that history is one long defeat, and the only real hope is in God, but writers since the Middle Ages have often used Arthurian legend to explore themes of failure, disappointment, and darkness. That’s part of why I thought it would make such a great interactive game – the reader gets to rewrite “canon” and give everyone a happy ending, or the reader can wallow in the traditional tragedy. Or both, or a custom-made mixture.
I wondered if anyone might confuse Lot and Lancelot at first. Arthurian names, argh! They only had like ten names to go around, and half the women are named Elaine, and there are multiple Borses, too, and don’t get me started on Galehaut vs. Galahad. Malory totally needed a better phonebook.
@buggygirl11 Morgana won’t get blamed in part 3, unless Guen chooses to hold her responsible. Mordred’s conception will be kept secret for a long time and only come out in part 6. So Morgana’s possible drift toward evil will be long and slow. But yes, being unjustly blamed for Mordred’s conception (in part 6) really could be the last straw.
@SaucyMinx Elaine has some unique magical powers that let her see specific events as they transpire – she can’t see into the future, but she sees a lot of things while they happen. (Hence Lancelot would have a difficult time hiding an extramarital affair from her, and he knows better than to try.) She didn’t absorb fae energy growing up like Morgana and Lancelot did, but she’ll feel very much at home at Avalon. Involvement in Galahad’s life… Some, mainly in part 5, I’d guess. More or less depending on how close Guen is to Elaine.
@FoxalypticWorld Yes, Guen will be able to tell Arthur if she’s involved with Morgana at the end of part 2. She should even be able to tell him if she’s had romantic and/or sexual involvements with both Lancelot and Morgana – can’t wait to write Arthur’s reaction to that.
