Guenevere (WIP)

You are talking about a fictional character based in old legends. Ancient cultures believes incest carry the evilness and dom. But that doesn’t make it true. Many tribes though that if a handicapped baby born was or the demon or the fact mother had sex with bad creatures many women were sacrificied just for that. Incest doesn’t carry evilness and doom, just a bunch of possibilities of genetic illness , but the poor baby is not guilty of anything at all, is not half demon or whatever. Incest is terrible for evolution and I find it disturbing, but don’t make that people monsters or evil just because they born. It is like Aristotle said slaves were just animals without soul or morality That real people had to control.
In Spanish play Life is a dream by Calderon de la barca , talks about fate and destiny and education. the basic idea is if you believe your child would be bad and a demon and you treat it badly within love or confidence in him. Treating him differently he would end being a monster but no because fate or nature, no because you made of him a monster.

@jeantown Cool, can’t wait to interact with them. I also can’t wait to see how they interact with Morgana and how Mogana’s relationship with Guen is affected. :slight_smile:

Also, will Mordred look like Arthur? Like will some of the characters who didn’t know be able to kind of suspect? Is Mordred raised as on of Lot’s children? I’ll admit, I don’t know much about Arthurian legend.

Thanks for taking the time to answer my questions!

Oh crap i haven’t caught up on anything, why was Arthur having a baby with morgan.

:crying_cat_face:

In the middle of family Easter stuff, so I’m just going to jump in and say a few quick things (sorry for not replying to everyone individually).

Mordred will be evil. He won’t be kicking-kittens evil; he’ll be Machiavellian evil. Part of his evilness will stem from a pessimistic view of human nature: where Arthur believes that people are inherently good and can be trusted, Mordred will believe that people are inherently bad and cannot be trusted. Mordred will have some unique magic powers which he will use in evil ways. The source of his powers will be made clear in part 3.

A Machiavellian Guen will have the option of allying with Mordred; a different sort of Guen might attempt to pretend to ally with him and then betray him. Guen will always have the option of disapproving of him and fighting against him; the game will allow a lot of room for her to have a range of opinions.

Mordred will look more like Morgana than Arthur. People will think he’s Lot’s son, and he will be raised with Morgana’s other children. (That’s generally the case in most Arthurian stories.)

@anon48296871 Mordred’s parentage is a long-standing part of Arthurian legends. Check out the Wikipedia article on Mordred. In my version, neither Morgana nor Arthur will intend to conceive Mordred; it will be an unfortunate accident which they’ll both be extremely upset about.

@jeantown So will Mordred be attempting to seduce Guen for power? That’d be hilarious though. Trying to seduce his mother’s lover, who also happens to be his father’s wife XD
Have fun with the family stuff! :slight_smile:

@hishman13 Yep. Oh, the drama. I can’t wait. :smiling_imp:

Ah, sory my lack of knowledge, haven’t played this in a while (I swear the fact you can write about 3 novels in text and still make it intersesting and interactive is amazing) but why are Arthur and Morgana having incest? Did they bond or something?

@Cat_Raider In many versions, Morgause or Morgan tricks/seduces Arthur so that she can have his child, and then deliberately raises Mordred to undermine Arthur. Obviously my Morgana wouldn’t do that. So how/why does it happen? You’ll have to wait until part 3 to find out! (:

@Jeantown Obviously the option to actually do anything to Mordred (to prevent him from growing up) will fail, but do you intend for Guen to have the option to encourage Morgana and/or Arthur to do something like that?

It seems like it would be wrong to set up the idea that you can change fate when you specifically can’t because of the plot, but then the whole thing with Mordred involves fate (or at least script) anyway.

I’m not asking for it - just wondering how you intend to handle that angle.

Question how far will Queen Gueen be able to change artur and mordred i guess to
the http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/WellIntentionedExtremist
in case of Arthur
and in case of Mordred to the http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/TheAntiNihilist

Oh, Mordred will be so cute! :heart_eyes_cat: I just want ask if it would be possible a Guen like mine helping him to become even more evil?. Like showing him how everyone is a a fat liar the court and a bunch of hypocrites plotting for power. Something like she made a baron or a minor knight kill his true love for gain a title; something very Orlesian. That could help to him hate Arthur even more. I really believe my Guen could start being nice to Mordred to use him against Hippie and with years starting think him as a friend and with more time ending falling for him, against her own will. My Guen thinks in love as a weakness something to fear, an dangerous.

1)Will Lance find out about Arthur being Mordred’s father?
2a)How will he view Mordred?
b) How will Mordred view Lance?
3) Will Guen be able to influence thier relationship in any way?

@poison_mara

And yet you will claim that you are not evil , but merely ruthless.

@jeantown

Guen+Lance =Artur+morgana =Weird body magic ?

If you are loyal and loving and don’t cheat on Arthur will he still have a kid with morgana

Yes, they don’t have sex voluntarely. Mordred is a key character so his conception is a mayor fixed plot in the story.

Yes, but it’s entirely unintentional. @jeantown isn’t telling us how to keep it spoiler-free, but she’s made it clear that Arthur never ever intends to cheat on Guen, especially not with his half-sister.

Myself, I am a fine person that helps in a pet care association and I am a real peaceful person. Mara as a character is not me, she is just a funny way to relax burning the stress, and know new people. So please doesn’t mistake the real person and the role-playing character.
And about my Guen being evil or just ruthless is all matter of perspective. Discover than a baron could do everything to obtain power could be very helpful to avoid a future him of his troops rebel and ending raiding poor peasants. Or poisoning the king or his heir. For my girl the security of the kingdom comes from control the court, and keep the frontier strong defended. Showing other countries they can’t come and defeat us easily. And maybe, just conquer a new territory to make rich the kingdom and send our poor people to colonize it and make them prosperous peasants . To accomplish that, make Mordred fully aware of how people is in reality, how all that honey words nobles in court said are just another weapon, lies to cheat the foolish. Could be a major thing from my girl. For her is not evil, is the most moral thing she could do for the country. Of course, for other people perspective, she is just a evil bitch plotting for more power, or just for fun.

Well, that is certainly one ruthless Guen :slight_smile: Noone is inherently evil, there is always a reason, and many times the ones that are considered “evil” does not think like that of themselves. But that doesn’t make them any less evil overall. In a long run her vision doesn’t seem much more plausible than Arthur’s. They both want the best for england and do anything for it, but their views of what is best are soo far apart, that it is interesting to imagine how their conversation will look if they were honest with each other.

Exactly, I totally agree with you. But about our Hippie, my Guen is truly trying hardened him. So the interesting situation of Arthur agreeing with her in many things and She totally conflicted about Mordred or him could be a fact in my playthrough. All depends of how hard Arthur becomes or if helping one is really best for kingdom. I could imagine her just going against her heart for the sake of kingdom. That is reason I see her as ruthless and not evil. A evil Guen for me is just a selfish power hungry girl doesn’t care about anything in her way. I had play as evil guens too, but is not my main poison queen.
