Hey now, not all the male options are bad. Garrus is awesome.
Yes, Garrus is awesome in rromance. But for my shep he is her brother, and I canāt see him like a romance for her. Their friendship is one of the best things I have seen in a video game. For the first time I felt you could have a real friendly bond with a character without romance him, I really get attached to him. I romanced Kaidan with my main femshep, and it was sweet and that, but for my renegade Mara shep the relationship feels out of place, it was totally pure paragon shep he addressed her like a goodie heroine and all that , out of character for Mara, moreover having in account I hardened him in Mass effect one. He was sexy, at least. But femshep male choices are bad lol
-Jacob, he just cheat her right away. (shep was only half year on earth) and he already pregnant, her so he started banging her like two days before her girlfriend got arrested and without break first.
-Thane a terminal guy he just dies after you. Great romance, but terrible tragedy.
-Garrus the only real great romance And he is a locust. Funny thing he almost looks attractive because how well written he is, I totally romance a locust or whatever if it is as awesome as him.But as I said since mass effect one Mara sees him as her brother no sex attraction for him.
-Kaiden a average typical romance. No character evolution or anything he is exactly the same he was at the beginning. He is better romance for male shep some scenes are better written.
And all maleshep romantic options are perfect, no any drama all are sexy and they had Tali and Jack, the romance I really wanted for Mara because both goes well with her personality
Hi, @jeantown. I just want to say that I think that youāre game is awesome, and I canāt wait for the next half of part two to come out!
Just one question- if we decide to go get Morgana will we a) still be able to either Frankmarch, Camelot, or Michealsmont (sorry, canāt spell it) and b) will that help or hurt our chances if we can go to those branches. Sorry if thatās unclear.
Again, this is an awesome game, and I hope that you donāt ever give up on it!
Yeah, itās hard to not romance Morgana. Fake-flirting to make Morgana jealous would be very interesting, but I donāt know if Morgana would put up with it. Based on how she reacts if Guen has any little feelings for Lance and admits it, Morgana probably wouldnāt want to pursue a Guen who tried to make her jealous. But, it would be quite amusing. Also to see Lance/Arthurās reactions to the fake-flirts.
@Kinruush Agreed ā given the CoG medium, I think I can avoid some of the problems of the Bioware romances. Theoretically it could be as easy as putting (flirt) in front of a dialogue option, though I might be able to avoid that. Thank goodness I donāt have to try to write dialogue-wheel blurbs. I always think it must be so strange to go to the effort of scripting a whole interactive conversation and then have to reduce one personās lines to 3-6 word summaries. What a strange (and doomed) writing challenge.
@blackrising I thought the Zevran one was pretty darn obvious, too, but with my Jacob ninjamance I was legitimately trying to avoid romance dialogue and it still happened⦠I guess different people have different ideas of what sounds like non-romantic friendship dialogue. Anyway, the extremely slow-burn romance would indeed be nice ā Iād like to make it possible for Guen to find herself falling for any one of the three later in their lives. Maybe she doesnāt like 20-year-old Lancelot, but heās going to change a lot by the time heās 35, and same for Arthur, and Morgana. Who knows if/how Iād really be able to implement that, but Iād really like to. As for Morgana, her current personality is such that she would indeed have zero tolerance for any attempts to make her jealous ā sheās just too proud for that ā but who knows how her personality will change over the years?
@Mirabella The one time I tried to romance Kaidan and just be friends with Liara, I somehow triggered the Liara romance and didnāt even get the dialogue where they tell you to choose between them⦠sigh!
@poison_mara I sooo wish I could romance Tali, Morrigan, and Cassandra with female PCs.
@Kinruush Gaaaaaarrrrrruuusss!!! I love how he and Tali werenāt originally intended as ROs, and it was basically the voice actors (at least, I think it was) who made them so appealing that fans demanded they be romanceable. And I find it fascinating that what is arguably the most popular female-PC f/m Bioware romance (sorry, Alistair) grew out of what was intended as a good friendship.
@Greytrap1 Thank you!
I certainly donāt see myself giving up on it. At this point Iām so emotionally invested in it, and Iāve put in so much planning, that even if I had some major life issue and had to take time off from writing, Iām sure Iād still come back to it as soon as I could.
If you decide to look for Morgana, you will ultimately find yourself on one of the other three branches. Which branch depends on where Morgana went, which depends on whether she escaped first or not. Although following her will limit which branch you can end up on, it will make success on that branch very likely, even if Guenās skills arenāt the best match for that particular branch. And there may be another small reward for following her.
@Jeantown Speaking of looking for (Morgana) or in this case not, thereās probably a more tactful way to say this, but I hope we have a chance at a āI knew you could take care of yourself out there.ā compliment to tell her.
Not just being glad sheās safe but expressing that Guen thinks highly of her and felt sure of her abilities (even without her magic supplies). Sheās a pretty awesome person whether you think of her romantically or not, in both this player and my Guenās view (which I should write up like others have done their 'This is my Guen").
@jeantown Huh, I didnāt consider how Morganaās personality might change as the years fly by. So it might be possible to tease/induce jealousy from an older Morganaā¦awesome
.
I do also like Elfwineās suggestion a lot, as it both fits a Guen that cares (platonic-ly or romantically)) for Morgana, and for the most part Morgana probably could take care of herself, or at least if she had escaped first.
I also had a question about Morganaās children, how much will Guen get to interact with them? Will we get opportunities to get to know and get closer to them, as they are very important parts of Morganaās life. I think it would be an interesting and realistic dynamic to add into Guenās relationship with Morgana, and also to see when they get older, if they learn of Guen and Morganaās relationship, how they would react (partially based on how much Guen interacts with them perhaps?). Also, will Morganaās husband ever really make any sort of appearance too? Oh my gods, this game has so many possible events and interactions-part of what makes it so amazing!
Anyways, as always, love your story and I hope you keep up the good work!
you understand him so well!
You think? Thank you so much! Itās just, I love to analyze/rant about my feels when I become attached to a character

!!!Ha! the plot thickens! So she is the mysterious woman with a present for Guenā¦now Iām wondering what kind of present it is (is it the mantle of the title?)ā¦now Iām even more excited about part 3
Poor Lanceā¦give him a break! (I know though, the situation for him will worsen more and more each book)
The slow-burn romance is one my favorites themes! It would be wonderful to be able to have the chance to make my Guen, even though earlier she claimed that she sees any of the three main characters only as friend, to make my Guen to realize slow and steady her romantic feelings for any of the three main character in later books.
About the jealousy, you said Morgana is too proud to show any sign of jealouslyā¦what about the other twoā¦do they easily get jealous? How jealous can they get? Will they show any trace of it in the future books, or they will have to reach their limits to show it? (I feel though, that Lance will feel, that he hasnāt any kind of right to feel jealousy, but this doesnāt mean he doesnāt feel)
I am here now! It was quite interesting reading everything that occurred while I was gone. However, I suck at progressing quickly in games (Im still in spring in Story of Seasons as of this typing) and thus I will be able to start responding as im no longer playing the game to the exclusion of everything else!
To interject with what everyone else is saying about romances, I went through all of DA:O (multiple times) without romancing anyone, even while being friendly (ā¦Though Iāve never liked Zevran. He was always dead at his little betrayal point.). Thus Iāve never encountered this thing known as āninjamancingā. ā¦Also, the Tali romance is awesome in Mass Effect. Tali and Garrus were always my favorite party members (and my favorite characters overall really, with only like 1 or 2 coming close.)
@Elfwine That ought to be possible. Thanks for mentioning it. I had planned a conversation that Guen and Morgana would have later, during the denoument scenes, if Guen chose to look for her first ā and if Guen didnāt choose to look for her, I could alternatively give Guen a chance to talk about the reasons why in the same spot.
@hishman13 Part 3 will be set in Orkney, so weāll see a fair amount of Gawain, Gareth, and King Lot at the beginning, and again briefly at the end. None of them will be coming along for the trip through the enchanted forest, but theyāll be doing some significant stuff in the background ā stuff that will establish some of their roles/motivations for later in the series. ā¦and thank you!
@kitkat I look forward to hearing what you think of the future Lancelot backstory reveals.
Jealousy, hmm⦠not so much at this stage. As you say, Lancelot wouldnāt think he had any right to be jealous; heād just feel guilty. Maybe envious? But in a sad, helpless way, not in a way that might lead to effective teasing or anger. And Arthur, well, heās so innocent that I donāt think it would occur to him to be jealous ā if Guen tries to tell him she thinks Lancelotās interest in her is inappropriate, Arthur just brushes it off as a misunderstanding and genuinely forgets about it. Of course, things may change for all of them!
I have a question about mordreds physical appearance since he is a product of incest wonāt he be disfigured in some way?
The Habsburgs we know and mock had a jaw issue because one of their ancestors did (canāt remember off the top of my head which one), and they regularly married cousins. Iām not sure a one off thing between two reasonable looking people would be noticeable.
Incest does not always result in physical disfigurement. It does increase the likelihood that traits in that family will be expressed. This becomes more significant the more generations the incest continues.
@Illmaster My understanding is as @Elfwine and @Kinruush say, that it takes a few generations for incest to produce distinctive physical traits. Arthur and Morgana are also only half-siblings. So I donāt think Iāll be pushing plausibility, at least not on that count, if I model my own mental image of Mordred on an incredibly attractive young man I once saw playing him in a stage production of Camelot when I was a teenager.
In most portrayal Iāve seen Morderd is attractive, I donāt remember one which shows him as ugly. But maybe his evilness could be partially due to the incest, like the madness among the Targaryens.
Well evilness is not something you get in the gens. Maybe there is a violence, pre disposition, but all studies shown that evil as all morale principles are more influenced by education in early years that anything in gens. Evil is not an illness like porphiria or madness. Anyway, one only half incest doesnāt become your children the lake monster. It needs at least two or three generations of inbreeding . At least is what I watch in a Egyptian doc about mummies. And taking account that millennium of incests only caused life shortage and low deformities in feet and weird head in some of them. Mordred will be fine.
If mordred did look like a lake monster it would be much easier whenever he shows up, to not make my guen want him, but it seems like she is going to be a cougar
Oh, Think that way in the poor poison queen waiting for his hot king in dark armor appear Surrounding by a Hippie child with zero sense, a cheater gigolo that fakes being ultra loyal while trying to bang his queen. And Morgana that she is cool, but I had the sense my Guen doesnāt swing that way. Even if she could bang her or Anyone to achieve her goals. So I think my girl deserve a hot evil guy to romance. Being evil doesnāt automatically make people uggly in real live. This is not Fable
Apparently though, acceptance cannot change a naturally bad character, because Mordred, physically beautiful though he is, remains ugly due to his wickedness, enviousness and deceitfulness: this man was truly the devil (Lancelot-Grail III 109). There does not seem to be any reason for Mordreds character to be so very bad, except for the taint of his incestuous conception. Mordred works as a devilish character because his beauty and high birth make him a temptation; people will follow him, even though they should support the superior Arthur.http://vault.hanover.edu/~battles/arthur/mordred.htm this explanation of his character was very interesting considering his physical appearance and personality
I hope that in this game those Guens (like mine) who feel like that can treat Mordred as he merits - which is to say,if heās a villain, then heās going to be seen as a villain, whatever his looks.
Jean seems pretty good at not forcing reactions on Guen except in the sense of having to react, but I dislike the idea of a sympathetic Mordred if that Mordred is still betraying Arthur and so on - that kind of thing doesnāt indicate merely feeling unloved, that indicates being unconcerned with behaving honorably or decently.
