Guenevere (WIP)

Jean said that there will be multiple possible endings, including happy ones. I think you will have possibility to end up with Arthur and your kid and live happily ever after. That’s certainly ending i’ll be going for

@kitkat   Oh, thank you so much for all of your support, here and on tumblr!! I appreciate all the positive feedback more than I can say; it’s what keeps me writing as much as I can. I really hope the future installments will live up to all of your expectations!

I can’t believe no has asked that question yet! I mean, it’s a really, really, really good question, isn’t it? The sort of question that might have some relevance to the overall main plot of the series, even! The sort of question that people really ought to be wondering about! The sort of question I shouldn’t answer directly because anything I might say would be too much of a spoiler, but yeah, wow, what a good question.

@Fallaner Huh, Thalia is a name I use frequently for my video game characters. (For some reason I always give my RPG chars names that start with T). Anyway, your ThaliaGuen sounds lovely, and her plan for the second half of 2 seems solid. I can definitely picture her on the Camelot branch (as I’m writing it now), taking charge. Her approach and her skills will be useful there.

@Promethea That musical looks pretty cool – lots of stage fighting! I still think of you as the Guen soundtrack person because of that fantastic playlist you made. And thank you for writing about your Guens; they’re all useful! I’m glad to know that someone plans to ally with Grimald. It does seem appropriate for your unhappy / egotistical Guen. But all three of them sound really interesting, and should let you experience lots of different elements in the game.

@Mim Aw, thank you! I’m delighted that you’re enjoying the game that much! @Ponku is absolutely correct that Guen will have the option of living happily ever after with Arthur and their child and Fluffikins the Third… After all, what’s the point of interactive fiction if it doesn’t have lots of possible endings? (: That’s not to say the path will be easy, but it will be possible. And I expect that you should be able to get something along the lines of the reunion scene you’re describing. Thanks again!

@Owlet Yay, more Guens! I really will come back to this part of the thread more than once to check in with everybody’s different Guens and see if I have something for each of them. Your calculating/fun-loving combination sounds really unique and interesting, and like she could maybe have some character development as things progress.

Okay, out of time for replying to stuff, but thank you again, everybody who posted nice things! I’ve been having a rough time at work and with some other stuff, so it’s wonderful to read about all the different Guens and hear that people are enjoying them. (:

Thalia is a name I use often for girl characters, and is one of my many “presets” (read as: My main preset). She’s also frequently used as a backup name for accounts where I don’t want to use “Fallaner” or “Weyrleader”. For example, on Tumblr my username is ZeroThalia. (A combination of the anime character Zero from Code Geass and Thalia. And also a combination of my old RP character Zero and Thalia. No relation between the two characters, just felt like combining it and it’s stuck.)

Thalia will likely find defending Camelot to be a proper chance to test her skills, something she didn’t manage to really do in Book 1 other than allowing the signalwork (AKA the firework) to go off AND let Bretta Survive. I still think she should of died from pure blood loss… but eh, whatever.

Speaking of endings, where there be the ability to just keep ruling and help the nation forget about the problems with Mordred (Who i have decided my character will not hate, at least not at first, and also won’t hate anyone involved in his birth. Thalia really doesn’t mind if her husband sleeps with her best friend [In my preset, Thalia has a husband, and also a wife who is her best friend. her husband basically has two wives. And Thalia is just fine with that since she doesn’t play second fiddle at all.]) and then just… continue to rule afterwards? Its the sort of thing ThaliaGuen (and Thalia. Imma just say Thalia for ease of my brain) would do. Work for continued stability and general happiness, and helping everyone move on and forget about the whole problem with Mordred. Even after they forgot, she’d keep things running smoothly and efficiently with minimal problems. She’s a ruler and tactician at heart, really, and would hate to see the nation crumble or fall to inefficiency or corruption. Or to idiots. Its why she tries to fix all Arthur’s mistakes and calls him an idiot aplenty. (You CAN love someone and consider them an idiot. Their not separate folks!)

Might as well talk about my Guen!

Guen went to the wedding with Arthur with a mix of hope that they would be good for each other and nervous that they wouldn’t do so, though she also missed her home too. With her Fae Cat Tristan though she quickly adjusted and found herself almost immediately attracted to Arthur when they first met. Kind and intelligent above all else, Guen is loyal and cares for her husband greatly, though his navity can irritate her.

Trained in the arts of Light Magic and able to plan strategy, Guen is nevertheless embarrassed that her combat skills are personally inept, but then she always preferred to talk than strike blindly. She considers Morgana a very close friend and feels comfortable sharing her thoughts and concerns with her, in particular her confusion over her physical contact issues with Lance. Guen loves Lance as a friend and ally to Arthur, which has made his apparent devotion to her somewhat awkward.

Guen’s capture by the Saxons was fairly short lived thanks to help from Morgana and Tristan, though Morgana remains their prisoner. She intends to help Arthur from entering a trap and destroy the evil sword whilst Lance goes back to Camelot to lead it’s defense.

I think my Guen is modelled on a combo of two of my favourite female characters in fiction, Nyssa of Traken from Doctor Who and Susan Richards of the Fantastic Four.

Wow, I can’t believe I never thought of that before. :open_mouth: If she has and will use that knowledge for her own benefit, it will certainly explain a lot. Like why in Book VI, Guen WILL be accused of infidelity, whether or not she was actually unfaithful to Arthur.

Maybe it depends if you was forthcoming in sharing knowledge with her or how you treated her?

Could we get some cheats later ? I mean like skill cheat and maybe even relationship cheat (setting skills like black magic etc To 10000 for example, and setting starting relations for lancelot to 100 for example) ironically enought im Learning I.T and to my knowlage it should be quite easy to set up, because you use round numbers , and not % or opposing stats like most of the games on this site.

@jeantown Thank you so much! You make me even more excited about the future development! But now you’re torturing me even more :anguished: , but I guess this means there’s a high possibility to have witness it… especially if you choose to go to talk to her and Lance and then “save” Lance from her company, she seems she’s already suspecting that something’s going on, even more if she indeed witnessed the kiss: she could put everything on fire. :worried:

I’m thinking that as long as you aren’t allies with Tilda, or if she doesn’t owe you a favor, whether or not Guen kissed and/or had sex with Lance wouldn’t matter that much in the whole infidelity accusation scene of things.

If Guen pushed Lance away, Tilda could always conveniently omit that part of the story. If Guen froze up, Tilda could still report a “kiss” (if she gets called out for it, she could always blame long distance observation errors). Not sure about claiming that sex happened - but it would be difficult to prove or disprove a claim like that. Especially since it happened so far from the kingdom.

Above all, it’s not as though the duchess has a camera or a video recorder. Whether or not she’s believed - I think - depends on the player’s existing reputation amongst the general public and with the crew.

Oh and quick questions. @Jeantown, how useful is Meli’s* sword going to be for a Guen with a high dark magic stat? Alternatively, how useful is that listening device should the player choose not to hand it over to Tilda?

* I named my fae pet Smelly-Meli just to spite the guy. I’m awfully mature. I know :yum:

I’ll join the Guen band-wagon.

My favorite Guen loves Arthur, but doesn’t always see eye-to-eye with him. While she wants peace, she wants Britain stronger, and while she wants Arthur to be happy, she does think him terribly idealistic, which is something she teases him about on occasion. She is based in tactics and healing magic (in that order), and is used to respect, and can be a bit ‘snarky’ at times, known to be smart and stubborn but kind.

She cultivates friendships for help along the way, but then actually started caring for Lance. His passion confuses her, and she doesn’t know if her feelings are due to magic (she spoke to Morgana), or if she actually wants him. But she will put Arthur foremost, and the kingdom first.

She did return Lance’s kiss, but ended it there.

Grimald wise…I’m counting on her stating ‘working for peace’ doesn’t have to mean ‘working with him’. (Hahaha)

She is known for being loyal to her husband, and in her internal commentary, she says she has truly fallen in love with Arthur.

I am sending her to rescue Arthur, and get that sword away from Meligaunt, telling Tilda about the location of the thingie-majig, and Lance is off to Camelot to save them.

Hoping Fluffikins the Third will team up with me, or go find Morgana, but I’m really not too worried about her, she’s smart, and not above playing dirty.

How many people actually didn’t split Lance and Guen up to do stuff? Can’t remember a situation where I didn’t. Everything seems so pressing, and to choose one instead of two seems mortifying.

Once again, thank you @Jeantown. You’re great!

I just never thought about because I never kissed Barbie at all. And in the forced kiss I was totally against it shouting him. So I was more I could use her like witness to destroy him, accusing him of rape attempt. But if my girl gets mad and kiss him aggh :fearful: . She probably said Lance darling, make that her death looks like a poisonous accident and use it to cause the damn civil war.

I have always split them up for the same reasons everything seems important! I went with Guen going to help Arthur and destroy the sword and Lance going to defend Camelot for my first time since I reasoned that Morgana would be able to defend herself and would understand my motives, whilst Tilida I reasoned could be trusted with the castle and plans. Hope I don’t regret my decision!

 Thank you in general to everyone who’s been posting descriptions of their Guens! I love reading them. Kinda tired at the moment, but I’ll try to respond as much as I can… if I miss anything, let me know.

@Fallaner If Guen is able to overcome the challenges presented by Mordred once he grows up, she’ll definitely have the option of an ending where she continues to rule and everyone can forget about him. If you mean can she forget about the problem of his conception, that should be easy at first, since it will be a big secret that only she and the three mains will know about, so she can absolutely continue to rule as if nothing happened. Anyway, I clearly need more dialogue options that allow Guen to express her love for Arthur while considering/calling him an idiot. (:

@derekmetaltron Sounds like a well-rounded and well-considered Guen! If light magic is her high stat, she should do just fine on the Michaelsmount path, and in the longer term, she should have a chance to settle into a less awkward relationship with Lancelot.

@buggygirl11 Yep, in part 6 there will be just enough “evidence” – however tenuous – for people to leap to conclusions, even if those conclusion are completely wrong. And @Wolfsra and @Owlet I do intend for Guen’s history/relationship with Tilda, whatever it may be, to make some difference in the future. @kitkat Tilda does pick up on things pretty quickly, even when her information isn’t up to date. She’s a good ally, and a dangerous person to be on the wrong side of. And, @poison_mara, yes, it’s entirely possible that Tilda could come in handy if Guen wants to pressure Lancelot later on.

@CaesarCzech I’ve been planning for a while to incorporate some cheats and easter eggs, which will be triggered by giving the pet various unlikely names. I won’t be adding them for a while – maybe not until the commercial version – but I do have a few things in mind.

And @Owlet The sword should be very useful, but not game-breaking, if I can set things up the way I want. I’d like there to be some situations in which the sword provides an automatic success. As for the magic decoder device, its usefulness will depend on whether or not Guen has something she needs to decode, and what that thing might be. She absolutely will have the option of not handing it over to Tilda, but keeping it doesn’t guarantee she’ll have a reason to use it in the future – that depends on what else she manages to find and keep.

@Mim Okay, so I need to maintain some snarky-but-kind moments for your very likable-sounding Guen… (and now also @derekmetaltron) I’ve seen only one or two people say they won’t send Lancelot somewhere else, and I never expected that keeping him would be a popular choice. I imagine it’s the sort of thing someone might do on a second or third playthrough, just to see what difference it makes if he’s there. Taking him with you is almost a guarantee of success on whatever branch you choose, but sending him elsewhere is still probably going to be the most appealing option for most people… unless they’re playing an extreme-Lancelot-fangirl Guen for whom spending time with him is more important than anything else.

Nah (The word not the character. I feel the need to point that out these days.), my Guen won’t particularly be annoyed by how he was born, after all, she wouldn’t get annoyed if Arthur slept with her best friend. She’d sooner him have a kid with her best friend than some random person she didn’t know. If Mordred was born by him sleeping with someone she DIDN’T know, THEN there would be a slight problem. As it stands, she really couldn’t care less about the situation of his birth. She would only really be concerned over the possible political and/or social problems that could arise if the situation of his birth was made public, due to the fact that she really has no idea how to fix that sort of problem considering I doubt very many people would be as uncaring as she would be over the fact that Arthur had a kid with his half-sister.

Also YES, more dialogue choices to express this. Pretty much all my Guens (Both that currently exist and are going to eventually exist when i replay again in a non ThaliaGuen format) that love Arthur would also consider him an idiot. Because most of them are rather intelligent and do find his naivety in some things to be… stupidity. Like thinking he can put sheep in the castle (Did i ever mention how I always pick the “Because your brother has no grip on reality” line when telling Morgana how this happened?).

Also, thank you for making sure that the ending I want will be a thing (Even though it likely would of been anyway. Accept the compliment and thanks dang it!). Because thats awesome and gives me a reason to seek it out to no end (When its done.)! Even if this means 500 restarts in order to perfect what I shall now dub the ThaliaEnding.

Also, heads up for everyone if your starting to get used to my daily posts (No idea how lol.) I’ll be spending most of April 1st playing Story of Seasons. Amazon botched up my delivery (…AND A PRE-ORDERED OVER A MONTH IN ADVANCE AMAZON) and it doesn’t get delivered until the first (AKA tomorrow) So I may not show up! …I have yet to decide if I’ll play a guy character or a girl character, so if anyone responds here you can totally give me your vote on this if I haven’t started yet XD

so at the last book isnt guenvere supposed to be like 48?

Omg, I haven’t been on this topic since Book 2 came out, I feel so guilty. :frowning:

@jeantown I love every bit of (the part that’s already updated of) Book 2. The sheep thing cracked me up like crazy.

If I could point out one thing that really doesn’t bother me at all but could still have some work done to better suit my Guen, it’s that I want my Guen to be able to get angrier at Lance. Not for kissing her, though (the current options have a wide enough range as it is and my Guen doesn’t go berserk about that anyway), but for Lance being silly about how to deal with the ‘warm fuzzies’ we get from touching each other. I want my Guen to be able to say stuff like “Seriously? Giving me the silent treatment and travelling all around the world just to avoid me and sending a zillion trophies my way while still not talking to me??!! Yeah, wonderful solution. I suppose you have ruled out the idea of having a more in-depth talk about the issue with me, and maybe even people who might know a thing or two about this stuff, because your own brilliant idea to simply shut yourself away from me hoping that the problem will disappear on its own just because you want it to is just so spectacular that you came to conclude that it’s the only plan that could ever work. And of course, I’m just sitting here like a good queen should, not feeling guilty at all that you feel like having to torment yourself over having touched your best friend’s wife and not talking to her ever for fear of worsening the problem that you’re not at all fixing. Also, I don’t feel guilty at all that my husband is missing his best friend so badly just because said best friend refuses to get anywhere near his wife and deal with the problem said best friend has with her and that I have no power to talk said best friend out of his idiotic endeavour because said best friend won’t give me a chance to speak with him for more than two seconds. Brilliant, Lance. Absolutely brilliant.” (That was a bit longer than I expected.)

And this actually has already been mentioned by others before me, but I also want the chance to get crazy mad at Arthur in Michaelsmount for being a complete and utter idiot, but then probably break down in tears, hug him, and say things like “You’re so lucky I’m smart enough for the both of us, you dolt, else I would’ve lost you to your own pathological stupidity,” in between sobs. Overall, Book 2 is fantastic so far.

And now, jumping on the Introduce My Guen(s) bandwagon! xD

Me-Guen:

Me-Guen is pretty self-explanatory, it’s the Guen that bears the most resemblances to my own personality. She loves reading and learning and therefore has become skilled in dark magic, and her affinity for intellectual stimulation also leads her to become rather good at devising tactics and strategies, be they military or political. She’s glad she had her dad to talk about them with.
Me-Guen’s primary starting skill is Dark Magic and her secondary starting skill is Leadership.

Regarding her arranged marriage with Arthur, at first she only agreed to go through with it out of her sense of duty for her dad, her hometown and her kingdom in general, as well as the thought that as queen, she’d have a chance to make her kingdom better in more effective, influential ways (she knows that she’s smart, and that her clever decision-making makes her a good enough leader). She had no problem with this arrangement whatsoever. Even with Arthur, she had heard a great deal about him, and she thought at worst he would only be a good co-leader, and at best, he would be a wonderful co-leader AND a wonderful husband. Her only worries were probably missing her old home and friends and her chance to further her studies, but she told herself that she’d still be able to get all that as queen, if in different portions, perhaps.
Regarding being queen, Me-Guen feels primarily dutiful, and secondarily calculating.

The way she acts towards people is how a noble lady should. She is polite and appreciative, but she doesn’t fall for fake, backstabbing pleasantries. She is also calm and collected, even when she disagrees with someone’s opinion or tells someone off. In the worst of such cases, she usually talks the way she normally would, but her words drip with bitter sarcasm. She has good control over what she says and doesn’t, but she is unafraid to speak her mind, albeit with an amount of necessary subtlety. She talks freely to those close to her, though (the main three). To them, she’s open and honest and she even cracks jokes every now and then. She likes to please people and make them happy that way, but not too much to make herself gullible.
Me-Guen is cautious with her words, but always gets her point across.

About Morgana, Me-Guen loves her very much and is so very thankful that she has the chance to know her and be close to her. They are very compatible. They’re both intelligent, logical, rational, they both like and are good at dark magic, they both care deeply for their family and their kingdom, they both have a loose agreement that sometimes men can’t be trusted with their own brains, and neither gives a damn what other people think about them as long as they believe they’re doing the right thing. Me-Guen relies on Morgana a lot, and she thinks of Morgana as a surrogate big sister. Me-Guen likes to help Morgana with her dark magic, or with anything at all really, any chance she gets, because she believes Morgana would do - and has actually done - the same for her.

About Lance, Me-Guen isn’t actually into the goofing-around annoying type (her view is almost the same as Morgana’s in this matter), but she knows that Lance is a good guy at heart and he never screws up when it matters. She doesn’t mind a little humor every once in a while, either. She admits that he is a very good knight and a very good friend to Arthur. Me-Guen hopes that she and Lance can share the same friendship. When the ‘fuzzies’ came, Me-Guen’s resolve didn’t change. She still wants to be a good friend to Lance, vice-versa, and she still wants to remain faithful to Arthur (see below). She stated her planned course of action to just ignore the ‘fuzzies’ and get on with everything as if they didn’t exist to both Lance and Morgana. At first, she was glad that both she and Lance were on the same page in the matter… until book 2. After that, Me-Guen just feels like yelling the example sentence I typed waaay up there. Me-Guen just wants Lance and herself to be good friends, but nooo, Lance had to stay as far away from her as possible because he didn’t trust himself to not hurt her or Arthur. The way she sees it, Lance should just GET OVER IT. Okay, so far they haven’t found out any definite solution from any definite source. What in the name of the Goddess is so hard about just getting on with life normally for the time being until they actually do find a solution? Seriously. No need to make yourself a pathetic martyr just because you’re Sir Lancelot Knight-in-Shining-Armor du Lac.

About Arthur, as stated above, at first Me-Guen didn’t expect a lot from their marriage, only as much as she was entitled to, but it changed once she actually met Arthur in person. Okay, Me-Guen thought Arthur was cute. Whether in looks, attitude or personality. From what she had already heard, she had known he was not only a good king, but also a good person overall. He was kind, sincere, honest and gentle, but he did not hesitate to be just aggressive enough to protect his people and his cause. She found out that all this was true, that he truly did care for his people, and any people in general, and that he would do anything for their well-being. His idealistic vision also interested her. Me-Guen is an idealist herself, she wants universal, everlasting justice and she wants every single person to get exactly what they deserve, be it happiness or punishment. Her goal as queen is to make Britain more peaceful after all, and she believes Arthur’s vision is a step in the right direction in working towards that goal. How could Me-Guen not love Arthur? And best of all, he actually loves her. They’d never met each other before in their lives, but lo and behold, Arthur is a wonderful, wonderful person and he loves her. Me-Guen thinks her marriage with Arthur and everything it entails is the best thing that’s ever happened to her, and she wouldn’t have it any other way (minus the ‘fuzzies’ thing, ugh). Sure, Arthur could be a bit naive and… to put it plainly, stupid. But hey, you couldn’t have everything. Besides, he has Me-Guen to knock some sense into him now. Arthur would do stuffs that irritate or even anger Me-Guen on rare occasions, but she could never love him less. She understands that said stuffs stem from his idealism, which in itself is a rare honorable trait, and she believes that no matter what he believes nor how strongly he believes in them, he would always listen to her, and that’s enough for Me-Guen. Her basic sense of duty and her love for Arthur keep Me-Guen from falling for the cursed ‘fuzzies’. Oh, and so does the fact that she really doesn’t want anything to do with Lance besides friendship. Eugh. Just no.

Regarding Me-Guen’s major decisions, in book 1 she decided to spare Hrothulf’s life in order to question him, and in book 2 she plans to go to Michaelsmount to save her utterly adorable yet at times witless husband, she tells Lance to go back to Camelot to deliver the warning about the invasion, and leaves Duchess Tilda to resolve whatever Frankmarch’s internal affair is (Me-Guen did tell her what she heard about the decoding device being in the kitchen, though).

Me-Guen’s skills in order of prominence:
1. Dark Magic
2. Leadership
3. Light Magic (close to 2nd)
4. Sword

Me-Guen’s reputations in order of prominence:
1. Intelligent (way above the ones below)
2. Responsible
3. Kind (close to 2nd)
4. Brave
5. Convivial (close to 4th)
6. Stubborn (0)

OH, and Me-Guen loooves animals, especially cats. She loves the fae cat Morgana gave her on her wedding day (she calls him Thomas). When Meligaunt attacked him, Me-Guen yelled, “NOBODY HURTS MY CAT!!!” and enfeebled the crap out of Meligaunt with her badass dark magic skills and the might of her immense wrath and hatred for the son of a bi… big giant who dared to hurt her beloved cat. Me-Guen has no intention to show Meligaunt any mercy for what he’d planned to do with Thomas.

Er… I think Me-Guen will be the only Guen persona I elaborate. This post is already long enough as it is. :’) My other Guen personas are pretty random, and for each of them I just choose the options that make up for a certain Guen stereotype (yeah, I don’t get what I’m saying either). Hope your eyes didn’t melt from how repulsively long this text post is, and I hope my comments help (somehow, I don’t know how)!

Thanks, and best of luck with everything! Stay amazingly awesome. ;D

Okay, I recently replayed this again (…like, five times) and I remembered something that has been bothering me for a while. (Well, by ‘bothering’ I mean ‘I would have preferred otherwise’, so feel free to ignore me.)

In order to signal interest in Morgana, Gwen has to be very straight-forward about it (unless I missed something). She has to tell her ‘hey, I’m into women and also you’re hot’, which isn’t bad or anything, but if you play a Gwen that is very conscious of her duty to Arthur and the kingdom, but feels attracted to Morgana anyway, it comes off as rather odd.
I would have liked a less direct approach. Something a bit less ‘helllooooo lady’ /wriggles eyebrows/ and more ‘oh dear’ /sweats profusely/.
In fact, I’d be happy if there was an option to just show your attraction instead of bluntly explaining it. (Having the option of giving her a meaningful look or touching her hand or even averting your eyes shyly during the conversation in the tent, something like that. For many of my Gwens coming right out and saying that she’s attracted to someone who is not her husband and who she hasn’t known all that long was very out of character, but I can’t NOT romance Morgana, you feel me?

Mmm, I personally love the way the main characters have been described and behaved; I completely understand their situations and how they feel and sympathize with them, so I find it impossible to hate them, even simply dislike them. So, I love how naïve, childish and awkward Arthur can be; I love how ridiculously and unrealistically (and really admirably) optimistic is and have faith in his high ideals and for a prefect world, to the point many people misinterpret him as dumb; he’s still so young and unexperienced in so many matters, expect probably war cases, but he’s still a lot to learn and deal with. And then there’s Lance whom not simply love, but I adoree. I love his character so much; yes, you can describe him as “ladies’ man” (or was, but still a charmer and a tease), he’s outgoing, not a very formal guy and charismatic; some will considered him as “way too perfect” if they hate/want to hate him probably (and it’s totally cool; nobody has the same preferences); but for me, he’s the most imperfect of the three, because under the surface he’s unexpectedly romantic and sensitive despite his ‘flirty’ character; I also have a weakness in characters like him who hide their anguish, pain behind fake smiles. So, he becomes really weak and vulnerable and careless when it comes to Guen; he let his feelings for her to conquer him sometimes to the point making it obvious to Morgana and making Tilda suspicious at the very least. As I remember, Jean told us (correct me if I’m wrong), that Lance is a really romantic person, who no matter how many people consider him a womanizer, he actually wants to love; I think he had fall in love when he was younger, but it didn’t end well; so the second time he actually he falls in love, is with his best friend’s wife and this wrong, really wrong; and of course he feels guilty towards Arthur, hating himself, only with the thought of her, looking at her, imagine IF something more happened; he wants to protect not only Arthur and Guen from his selfish feelings and possible actions, but himself too. So what how he deals with it? Helplessly weakly but completely humanly; he avoids her and him, scared and not trusting himself next to her, how he’ll act, probably expecting his feelings to fade, hoping that way he’ll be atoned for his thoughts and feelings for her and from the guilt he feels towards Arthur. It’s his way to deal with the problem (in which he miserably failed thus the spontaneous kiss which was wrong but I loveeed it because it showed how worried, desperate he was to find her and overwhelmed by a moment of weakness he kissed her, which the moment after he felt extremely guilty for especially if the feelings aren’t mutual), probably scared about Guen’s feelings for him, a quite immature way to deal with, but it’s his way to protect himself and the people he mostly cares. Lol look at me, getting again emotional over fictional characters and writing wall of texts, I’m extremely sorry; I just had the strong need to defend Lance; he’s not perfect, he’s flawed, weak, selfish, but at the same so devoted to Arthur and Guen and struggles between these two. So I really want to say how much I love the way you’re writing his character and please keep writing his character so imperfectly perfectly and I hope he’ll be able too, like Arthur, to change/harden/mature under Guen’s positive or negative influence.

By the way @jeantown, I’m really excited about Tilda and her personal motives and how are going to affect Guen (and Lance), but please don’t push yourself, take care of yourself! :worried: Also, count me on one of these people who decided in the first gameplay to not send Lance somewhere else (the hard shipper in me couldn’t break them again, especially after they finally united)

@jeantown I’ve been wondering about this for a while. In the final battle between Arthur vs. Mordred, which side will Morgana take?
