Hey everyone, since we’re already off-topic: I just got back from the worst dentist experience ever. I had to have a root canal (already no fun), and it went really badly – among other things, my tooth bled excessively and the dentist “drilled” (technically filed) down too far into my jaw, guaranteeing me a world of pain as soon as the novocaine wears off… so it sucked, but then it was over, until I went to look in the bathroom mirror and saw that HE HAD DONE THE WRONG TOOTH!!! :frowning: He was totally mortified, and offered to do the correct one immediately. While I could have stormed out in a fury, the thought of waking up the next day with new jaw pain AND the pain from the tooth that needed the root canal was more than I could bear, so I went ahead with the second root canal. Fortunately, it went much better than the first, but I’ve just spent three straight hours having horrific things done to my teeth, and now I’m on some generic Vicodin thing, so I’m just going to back away from the fetish issue for the moment.

I’m grateful to @Havenstone for his insights, and I don’t think the discussion is necessarily irrelevant to the Guenevere game, or any game with same-sex relationships (or, I suppose, any game with sex). Maybe I’ll be able to come up with something more coherent to say when I’m no longer on generic Vicodin and plotting the untimely, painful demise of my soon-to-be-former dentist.

Sorry I had not noticed the author cared about the matter and on that note I apologize, but the point I was simply trying to make was that jaxx’s statement seemed to get more attention than necessary, no? I mean yeah I found what they said pretty unnecessary but really its just someone opinion online and I think after a well constructed reply the matter should end, no? (This is just of course my opinion, I understand that if the majority wants to talk about it I’ll keep my opinions to myself.)

YEOUCH. I’m so sorry for your pain and hope it ends soon! Wow, I really, really hope you don’t have to pay for the dentist messing up like that.

oh my gosh! I am so sorry for you! It sounds like a scene from some bad comedy flick, did not really think these things could actually happen. Wishing you a quick (and not too painful) recovery!

Oh my! I hope the pain won’t be too much anymore. Get well and take care of yourself!

@jeantown sorry to hear about you’re severe pain. It’s times like this you need your video game ninja training.

Get well soon, @jeantown!

I’ve never had quite that much difficulty with my dental work, but I have a front-tooth crown that took several weeks to get right because they accidentally got my crown mixed up with someone else’s. And before that, they had a problem with me getting extractions (wisdom teeth and a busted rear molar) because I got my medical files crossed with someone who had a heart condition and wasn’t up for sedation and multiple extractions - that got sorted out, but I still have one wisdom tooth left (and it’s staying where it is unless it becomes a problem).

@Elfwine @thesunfloweramazon @Viktor_Akse @Ponku @TheMeek @GloriaRose @Ramidel @Havenstone Thank you all for the sympathy and get-well wishes! They meant a lot to me as I struggled through work today. I let the painkillers wear off for a while this afternoon, just to see how bad it was, and my jaw does hurt, but only in an I-just-had-two-root-canals way and not in a something’s-terribly-wrong way, so I’m hoping it’s all on the mend.

@Ramidel Wow, your dentist has a serious record-keeping problem! It’s scary how much damage one little clerical error can cause in a medical situation. I understand now why people write “not this one” on their good knee when they go in for knee surgery.

And @Harian, many many thanks to you for getting the thread back where it’s supposed to be. I loved reading everything you had to say about the game, and now I’m feeling inspired to work on it instead of wallowing in my tooth issues. Your Guen sounds like a kind but sensible person. Things should eventually get less awkward between her and Lancelot (definitely no more surprise kisses unless Guen wants them, and Guen should be able to help him find happiness elsewhere if that’s what she wants). Merlin is entirely too much fun to write. He’ll have a much bigger role in part 3; I just hope I’ll be able to keep his character interesting when he’s doing more than being eccentric in the background. And yes, it’s probably sensible to stay on Morgana’s good side when possible. (: Arthur will mature, more or less depending on Guen’s influence. She’ll have a significant opportunity to influence his outlook at the end of part 2. Anyway, thanks again for playing and for writing so much about it!

And if anyone’s wondering, I’ve now gotten a solid start on writing the Camelot branch. Guen can return to the British coast under various circumstances and with various people, but I’ve written all of those variants, and no matter how, or with whom, she arrived, she’s now walking into the castle and starting to make plans for the Frankish attack. I had waaaay too much fun working out exactly what kind of units and how many of each are in the Frankish and British armies.

Fair enough. Fair enough.

Good to know! Regardless, it still hurts my head a lot whenever I play the game and try to choose just where I should head to.

Also, if we don’t choose to look for Morgana, when would be the soonest possible time we could see her?

I’m hoping this too and whish you to get better as soon as possible!

@Jaxx :smiling_imp: Mwahaha. It’s supposed to be a really tough choice. When and where Guen sees Morgana again will depend on who escaped from the boat first, and where Guen chose to go.

@WulfyK Thanks! It still seems to be getting better today, so I’m optimistic.

Just wanted to say how much I love the range of options right now, I realise that in the second half of Part 2 there must be a huge number of ways things can go between chosing whether to find Morgana, defend Camelot, rescue Arthur or sneak into the villain castle, as well as what you have Lancelot do and things like how you left Morgana or if you injured the villain. And to think there are five more parts to go! Keep up the good work!

Ouch. :hushed: :speak_no_evil:

Hope you feel much better very soon. :+1:

On track again – keep up the good work.

Well, when you’re trying to choose between saving a country’s people, (potential) ally, king or the what is probably the (second) most powerful mage is a very hard choice- especially when you’re the altruistic queen who wants to save all of the above, I guess that there won’t be a crueler choice…

And if you dare make a crueler choice in any of the future books due to this comment, don’t.
