Kohaku isn’t doing much these days. Besides, he’s pretty firmly working together with Hatch.
Thinking about checking out hearts choice more since its been awhile. My one hesitation is I’m concerned about the balance between romance and a good story. I checked one out two or so years back and it kinda was just smut with very little time to attach to a character. Is that common with most of them? I like smut an all but id like a plot not entirely related to it.
Most of the ones I’ve played to the end have a decent amount of plot (All World Pro Wrestling is the one I’ve played with the highest smut-to-plot ratio). I like Their Majesties’ Pleasure and Heart of Battle in particular for a great balance of smut and plotlines, and also both also allow you to play as whatever gender PC you’d like.
There’s no romance explicit scenes in it but my all time favorite game for romance is the keeper series, the third is still a WIP but the growth of it all and the characters feel so real and different ROs change the story. It’s the only game series I’ve hunted all achievements in. It’s phenomenal. I’ve seen some people say the first game had rushed writing but I love all of them and the third is inarguably the best so far. Plus it has like 10 ROs
Seconded. Alessa specifically is probably my favorite romance option out of every completed IF I have played
I second Heart of Battle! It was the second IF I played and I really enjoyed the balance between plot and romance. Setting is super interesting as well! I also loved A Pirate’s Pleasure (first IF I played) and thought it had the sweeping feel of a classic romance, but gave the player plenty to do outside of that as well.
If you like Greek mythology you might enjoy my Heart’s Choice title, Hearts in Hades: Divine Passion. The smut is skippable and there’s a fair few high-stakes plotlines and relationships beyond the romance. Like A Pirate’s Pleasure, its gender-locked though, which I realize isn’t everybody’s thing!
I just wanted to thank you for the links ![]()
