I feel like you and I have similar Idea’s although I prefer the idea of starting civilisation and dealing with rival factions.
@Deathscoming1 I actually code using my phone, a Samsung Galaxy Y (That’s the only one I can afford XD). I use the app Droidedit, which is like a notepad on your phone. The only thing I can’t do is test my game, but other than that, it’s okay. Plus ChoiceScript is very easy to learn.
Now back on the topic…
I just really want something that pulls you in emotionally, something that makes me cry. I have tried doing that with my current wip, don’t really know if I’m successful XD
@Fiogan and @Marethyu
Those ideas sound fantastic!
I was actually thinking about a heist game, where you have the task of putting together a team, and planning and executing a heist. You would have the choice of several different NPCs for your team, and, while the game would fairly short, it would be extremely replayable, because you could build new teams and have a whole new dynamic every time. I’d make this game, but I have my hands full right now. Once I get my current WIP done, I might do this.
A life you play as santa, and you have the option to give children some coals or real gifts regardless of being good and bad.
@FieryGodfeather Samuel not only managed to learn ChoiseScript, he showed me how to do it. Well, when I see his code, it is much more advanced that the one I have :).
On the topic: I feel coming back to urban fantasy. I am not sure I know enough about the lore, though.
I am also thinking of a game about professional e-sportists - something like Unreal Tournament (for those old enough to remember it )
It’s not that hard to learn ChoiceScript @Dragonslayer Persevere and you shall succeed.
I would also like a game about life regarding ranching or farming.
Haha, lol. It came easier to my friend then to me. I think he was @Cahill99, don’t know.
idk what happend, he left town and never came back. I talked to him once , I guess.
I’ve been wanting to start something that I’ll eventually complete but I have a couple vague ideas milling about in my head and I’m not sure which one will stand the test of time and keep me interested…
1.) Something based around/involving Greek/Japanese mythological creatures/yōkai, mostly because I know a bit about them so further research isn’t really needed. On one hand I really want to make something where you play as something non-human, perhaps misunderstood as evil, but I’m wondering just how much writing that’d take, especially with how different every creature is… and how romance would work… :l
2.) Something around the concept of an academy where fighting ability matters most. I’m not sure how fantasy I want to go with this one… swords, bow and magic or knives, guns and tactics? Should it be a happy peace-keeper training academy where failure is rewarded with detention or a darker dog-eat-dog academy where failure equals death? Either way I kinda want to give the option for you to screw over your fellow classmates for better grades or some other benefits… I think that’d be fun. Arguably more fun if screwing them over leads to their death.
They’re just vague ideas at this point… when I actually pick one I’ll get to actually fleshing out the world and writing some sort of plot… probably.
@Aera I wrote your game! Santa Claus - The Game!!! Okay it’s just a silly super-short concept thing but still… Xmas in August!
@FairyGodfeather I didn’t think anyone would really make my request. I’m going to enjoy playing that game and besides it’s almost the ber-months so its advance Christmas. YAY!
You can try simple codes @Dragonslayer that way you would understand how to make the ChoiceScript. If you ever get confused the forum has some great people who will help you
@Dragonslayer it gets easier the more you use it. I used to suck like you, but after some trial and error work, I got the confidence I needed to keep doing it. And like @Aera said, if you need help, just ask
@ggkiller
Thanks! It was something that I really wanted to do but time was not on my side back then. Besides that I have a barely started game where you are an Asgardian.
It’s better to be an asgardian than an argonian
I just wanna put this idea down somewhere. I have it stored on my computer but I guess putting it here couldn’t hurt either.
One of the things that I’ve found fascinating in recent years, is what would happen if Rainbow actually existed.
Rainbow is a Tom Clancy franchise but just the premise of it, a Counter-Terrorism force tied to the UN that can resolve incidents and isn’t bound by nationality or borders. More than once I’ve heard a story or so on TV and have said “What would happen if Rainbow existed?”
But from this single idea, multiple stories could be formed. You could introduce some paranormal activity. Team Zero is a good example. You could play it straight and have the team go rouge.
Or you could even play it evil and have a villain facing off against such an organisation. You could introduce aliens and call it XCOM.
So many ways… I shall ponder this. Like I said, I just wanted the idea down.
I’m abit busy right now but I’d love to actually learn how to code choicescript. Not sure where I would start though.
I’ve got an idea:
- you can be one of the very first super villains. Super powered beings can be very rare (at the start of the game anyway) but the select few that are around are very powerful. You would have a few generic super powers like super strength, flight, speed and energy projection but you’d be able to mold how powerful they are. For example you could just improve your super strength and completely ignore every other power so technically you don’t even have them. Likewise you could spread them evenly but not excel at anyone thing.
The story would be more about the rise of superpowered beings. At the start you could be robbing banks easily, throwing around cops like nothing with tons of evil henchmen but as the story progresses more and more heroes try to stop you, starting with “weaker” heroes who don’t know how to use their powers properly and then eventually taking in the more experienced guys.
You could even be the reason a super hero team is formed. Tons of superheroes coming together to stop you.
The story would take place a couple of decades in the future, probably in an invented city similar to metropolis.
Of course this is only a very rough idea but maybe in the future I’d be able to make it.
is this still an active conversation or just ignore it
For non-WIP threads, if you want to talk about the subject of the thread, we prefer dusting off an old one to starting a new one.
So if you wanted to discuss “What type of games have you all wanted to be made?” using this thread, go right ahead. It’s not currently an active conversation, though, as the last post was August last year.

I’d love to see a game where you play as a god. Create life in your own image, be it three legs or four. Encourage their cultural development, make your own religious tenants, deal with atheists who refuse to believe you exist, smite people if all else fails. All good stuff.
A game where you play as a dictator would also be fun. Make your own banana republic, insane laws, bribes, dealing with political factions, exhaust the national fund to pay for your lavish monuments etc.
Im a little late to the party, but who cares, i like these ideas, mostly the first one, but after you make everything you play as a character in the world and live your life.
I would love to have a story about mermaids and mermen … or aomething like a story where the characters are not human, but animals : )
