Okay that whole scene with Zale sounds really weird out of context but I’m sure I’ll find it perfectly reasonable when reading, but since you explained why the others (Poly relationships) wouldn’t work. Why saz and Vera?, they seem really different.

Mm, I’ve always thought of Saz and Vera/o as different in obvious but superficial ways (gender, race, allegiance, appearance) but similar in bigger ways which are, perhaps, too large to see.

They’re both considerate to a fault. This is what allows them to be such effect seconds to their respective leaders, Dragonsworn and Dragonfall, respectively.

They’re both actually principled. This is why they each remain with their faction after their respective leaders swap factions. Octo/a and Zale are self-interested, but we don’t fault them bc of their charisma.

Because of 1 and 2, Saz and Vera/o are very conflicted but keep it held inside. That’s what makes side characters compelling to me: when you have to read between the lines bc they don’t say what they think, feel, or mean. Keeps things from being on the nose. And side characters are always the best ones. Octo/a and Zale think they’re the center—read to the end, and you’ll see that it’s Saz and Vera/o. (The MC is based on Forrest Gump!)

I find myself somewhat perplexed, as I am unable to locate the synopsis. Have I overlooked something in the original post?

Does the word “synopsis” sound more like:
- An eye disease that robots get?
- A white paper on bad behavior–sin opus?
- An ancient Greek word for “older sister”?
- A french delicacy involving infant squid?

NYMS takes place on an island-continent divided into 5 duchies by magical leylines, which make the duchy climates non-sensically different. Each duchy is ruled by a strange dragon, and the continent is divided by civil war between the Dragonsworn, who support and enforce the rule of dragons, and the Dragonfall, who are trying to overthrow the dragons. This is a silly but sometimes very serious game with many romantic options across a spectrum of fantasy races.

Just discovered this a couple of hours ago and I’m still playing through chapter 3, but I’m also reading through all the info in the front post. This definitely sounds like a great game, and I’m looking forward to playing it fully!
Though I am wondering about one thing, especially with games like this that have lots and lots of ROs, but is there gonna be a poly (Polyamory) route where you can romance multiple individuals at the same time? Because I’m getting the feeling that I’m probably gonna become fond with a lot of them, thus making me indecisive with my decisions on who to pick.
So it would actually be nice to know if a poly route even exists.
