There is still a problem though. Even if they saw the MC being taken away how would they know what was going to happen to them, and even if they suspected that the MC wasn’t dead why would the know who they were under their new alias. It might work better if they were saved during the year spent after the MC finds out they were replaced.

I know but there are two many things that they would have to know if they were to figure out the MC’s identity. How would they know who they were if Crow is still trying to figure out who was brought back to life? I don’t think it can work because they would have been saved by Blackbird not who ever the MC becomes. For all anybody knows you are dead. Your current identity may as well be a different person for now.
