So I tried this demo out the other day, first time I ever played and I did so completely blind. Didn’t read the thread, haven’t heard anyone discussing it so I thought, “Eh why not? It’s been commented on pretty frequently so chances are good the author won’t cease work on it (so getting invested won’t be a problem) and I don’t have any other C.o.Gs to play for awhile.”
Initial impressions of the game: [spoiler] Your set up options for character customization really had me enthralled during the beginning. Being able to pick a personality that feels very well written out really made me curious to read more. I chose the sarcastic little MC at first. Very rebellious about his circumstances. The fact that this personality choice has far reaching consequences in scenes later on is one of the most important things for me when I play one of these games. Choices that don’t affect things are boring but so far every choice has had a vastly unique effect on the gameplay.
Also the ability to not speak is a very interesting one indeed. I don’t think I’ve seen any other game besides an old PS2 title (Drakengard) have it be canon that the MC is physically unable to speak. Really added to the uniqueness factor.
Now about midway through right as I was about to be put to sleep/death(?) I was confronted by the pervy doctor, when he hit the MCs prime caretaker I desperately wanted the option to actually put him in his place. You gave me that option and while yes it wasn’t a very smart option, it was by far the most satisfying one.
After everything happened though and the poor MC was thrust out into the big mean world. I had two goals well three if you count finding the doctor. Find out why I was created,then rain absolute hell on anyone that tries to get in my way.[/spoiler]
Now I have a few questions which you may or may not be able to answer.
1:Is the MC a test tube baby or does he have parents somewhere out in the world?
2:How long do you intend to make this game/do you intend to make multiple of them?
3: If the answer to question 1 is that the MC does have actual parents then are they One Punch Man and Ciri from the Witcher? Because that is the type of MC that I have.
All in all, great work. I’ll be keeping tabs on this thread from now on.

I’m planning on six chapters total. Between prologue and chapter one there are 40,000words thus far that being the goal so the average chapter should be round about 20, 000- 40,000 words a chapter. The first two chapters will be left open to all to play. As per sequels I dunno yet THOUGH a title has been bouncing around my head “Freak: In the Dark Corners” images of a super powered prison colony lol BUT I’ve got tons of different stories and world’s I’d love to explore all of which hinge on how well this does after release. Wish me luck in that regard.
3.yeah… no… lol First’s secrets will be rather interesting. These ideas were the very FIRST things I decided. Lmao.

Haven’t a clue, to be honest. At times I can ‘blast out’ massive amounts of text in a short time (at the crippling cost of grammar and spelling as a few of the early watchers have seen.) BUT I’d like to get it done before the end of the year, but that depends on how life rolls along I spose.
Well First was partially inspired by protaganists from old PSONE characters. My favourite games where the main character doesn’t or barely speaks.

I definitely can understand you there. That rush of inspiration that has you writing faster than you can think up new words then once it’s run its course just a sea of nothing. Am I close to the mark there?
I never got to play any of those games besides Drakengard. I love that game. If you made his hair white I think that would be the sprite version of my MC.
You know I haven’t thought of it much but I wonder if First has siblings. I suppose it’s possible.
What does KRV stand for.
I assume when they made first they were doing it for weaponizing us or something.
Are they researching how to make freaks?
Are they planning to weaponize us and freaks?
I also assume lydia is quintessential in making us as they seem to want to catch her alive.
So what hand did she have in making us?
Does lydia have special DNA they used to make first?
Doesn’t her profile [spoiler]mention her being First’s surrogate mother? If there was shared DNA, even partially, to top it off she would be biological one, and she denied being their mother.
As for DNA ‘donor’ at the moment likeliest suspect seem to be Kreagan, due to characters themselves comparing first’s power level with them.
…On other hand might be red herring, and then I would suspect Emanuel Kravic. No evidence, just gut feeling.[/spoiler]
that’s her relationship with us though and they never mention her genetic relations even if we don’t share any genes with us it’s most likely she was a big player in making us since the KRV want her alive
I noticed on the stat page it updates your personality etc. and the way it’s writen makes it sound like the KRV is still watching you, so WHAT IF the KRV planned the whole escape and the whole thing with First being out in the city is a test aka phase 2! … They know he can’t escape since it’s an island surrounded by water and we know First isn’t fond of that.
Well can’t argue her importance either way: she worked for a project at least for 18 years of First’s life and who knows how long before after all. And again judging by her profile she is a brilliant scientist, would be a waste to kill her. Besides she can be used to attempt manipulating First.
Not so much concerned about conspiracies just yet first has to recuperate. I mean he died,fell out of a plane with no parachute and then had someone start digging through their mind. He needs a break, maybe a beer or two and lots and lots of aspirin.

You can’t deceive me I know I’m 98% positive that there is a 60% chance of being 80% off on everything except my mc’s hair which is obviously short and neon hot pink.

Oh and KRV stands for Kravic, Reinhold & Volsh. It’s a company under three shareholders Kravic runs the medical aspects of the company being a former doctor and brilliant bio geneticist aswell as a never seen recluse.
