Okay, we argued a lot about Kela, Aeron and such elementary school drama bullshit, but what about the whole Helena-Nrein situation? I’m really divided about it. On one side if Helena haven’t done this, she would have married that creepy dude from house noorga which is a HUGE no. Plus, the whole thing was probably her father’s machinations. On the other side though she kinda stole the husband of her bsf (and girlfriend) and ahem her dad did not put Helena and Karl in one bed and told them to fuck, she made a conscious choice to try and seduce him even, her dad couldn’t have done anything if she just failed.
I feel…mixed honestly. I like the change that Helena and Nrein do have this history with one another and from what is shown they obviously did care about one another and shared their feelings. But on the other hand Helena seems so obsessed with making her dad proud that she actively denied her own feelings and what she thought about her friend, plus if you play a character who does like the same sex than she straight up tells you to pray it away. She serves as a great warning for what this system can do to a person who actively fights against who they are in favor of pleasing others.

I think Helena is a jerk for sleeping with her BFF’s (and gf?) husband. But Nrein is worse because I’m pretty sure she’s doing whatever she can to get her kids to hate and manipulate their siblings. Which is not cool, the oldest of all the kids is only 12 or 13

I’m really disgusted by the fact that they both are making their children participants in this whole story. I understand if they just tried to groom the best heir and ensure that their children will sit on the throne but they are purposefully making children hate each other. The best mom tbh is Sonya because she doesn’t turn James against the other siblings and just wants peace.

If Helena is straight or bi, what about Nrein? Yes, she married dad but I always have this impression that she only did so out of duty and she, in my opinion, is a lesbian. After all, she looks happier with Helena than with Karl although, of course, we still haven’t seen any scenarios of Karl alone with Nrein. I don’t know anymore. (Oh, sorry if this makes lesbian readers uncomfortable. Sorry guys, not my intention)

My take on this is that no one was innocent.
Helena tricked Nrein. Befriended her and, maybe, made her fall in love with her (why maybe? Because I don’t know if it was intentional or not. Remember that their views on lgbt stuff are the same our ancient people viewed them. I don’t think she will resort to seduction especially if it’s a fellow woman that she will going to seduce). She then slept with Nrein’s husband and then married the guy.
Nrein cheated on Karl. I don’t know if it was out of love, lust or out of spite but she still cheated (or tried, I don’t know) on him with another woman. My best guess is that maybe she is really not happy with her marriage. I’m always thinking that she’s a lesbian and just married Karl because she needs to.
Karl is like Aegon IV. He’s unfaithful and currently my most hated character here, even more so than Aeron.
