Wow! I really enjoyed this wip! But I’m not sure why everyone likes the stay path more than the leave path… (maybe I’m just too attached to Adrian and Mila). Anyway I wanted to ask since I chose the leave path, would romancing certain characters make the people I chose like me less or more? (Say my MC is a werewolf trying to make a legend of herself by joining the werewolves, if I chose for her to romance Adrian would the community respect her any differently?)

What a fantastic game! Honestly, usually when I see information pages like the ones describing the factions, I skim through and end up skipping most of it. I read every word of this. At first I was puzzled that mages were their own faction but you explained it well along with the reasoning behind all of the inter-faction conflicts. I bet tons of people have already told you this, but I didn’t read all the posts because whoa. I was so sure I was going to pick Werewolf or Human, but you made each sound so interesting I was really torn and I was actually relieved I had time to think it over.
So, sorry if you already got this question, but will our choice of faction affect Mila? She seemed to be pro-Werewolf faction, but I don’t know if I’m ready to go their my first play through. It would be cool to discuss how she feels about the male-dominated society in a future conversation regardless if you choose them or not.
Also the length. It’s just the first 2 chapters but it feels very bang for your buck. I won’t feel conflicted when it comes time to pay for the full thing because this seems to have a good amount of content and replayability. When we started nearing the Marked, I was momentarily afraid the story was coming to a close. Then I remembered that this was a demo and was relieved the story would keep going. I hope you’re able to finish and release the full game soon! I only just found the forum recently and am glad I did if only to go through this demo.

Each community will have members who will judge you on race or relationships, but it won’t affect your position because they need your presence to stave off spoilers. They will accept you or your significant other as long as you prove worthy.
@pyla8 You’re very kind! I’m happy to know that my descriptions captured your attention and I understand that reading over 500 posts is a lot to go through.
I want to thank you for your post as it reminded me to update my first post (I can’t figure out how to edit it yet though…) I’m sorry but it is outdated and in actuality the current link covers the first four chapters. I plan for 11-12 chapters in the final product so the game is far from over.
As to Mila, your choice of faction will affect her a great deal, but if certain choices are made than you can make things better/worse. Depending on your decisions she can continue to be a companion regardless of which faction you choose.

@reaper95 Completed chapters are the four in the demo. I’m more than halfway through chapter five.
How does a vampire compare to an illusionist?
@Dark_Stalker Vampires are the only people capable of illusion magic. The illusions mostly deal with tricking others mind/subconscious, getting them to believe everything is actually happening.

I really liked the story so far. To me it wasn’t confusing, it actually made the confused MC more believable. I like the characters so far (I stayed with the Division) and I lok forward to get to know them better. I played as a vampire and I love the amount of detail you put into their background. It seems that those bonds that were mentioned may become more important in the future (possibly leading to an uproar in the Division?). It was nice to see that although most of the cast is supernatural OR overly scared human, they still come alive through your writing. Example: Felton is this big guy that other people are afraid of but he’s clearly nice to the MC. This in turn makes the MC confused when people are afraid of Felton for he is amiable to the MC. It makes them more human and less of a robotic archetype.
Your chapters are also rather long, which I enjoy for it means there’s a lot of room for story development. Keep up the good work

He didn’t mind me coming to his room in the early morning and if he disliked having me hanging around he didn’t show it when he tried to teach me a game.

Vern and I have started getting to know one another. I don’t know much about him yet as he keeps trying to offer a sexual relationship. Though I have a feeling that my rejection doesn’t bother him and if I just wanted to talk with him he would oblige me.
@Claymore Thank you for reading! I’m especially happy that the beginning didn’t confuse you. I had a lot of trouble with that at first and it took a revision/feedback to get it to where it is. Also, yes, most of the cast are supernatural beings, though in this world none of them are considered abnormal (as to the overly scared human do you mean Yaella? She’s actually a Werewolf.)
Also a status update on my progress for chapter 5. (This time I decided to put it into percentages. See below)
I’ve scraped a few things, added other things and tweaked some things as well as having a character identity crisis…So that might change the beginning, but as of now I only need to finish the Human training (so many ifs) and then Mages (for the second time) before finally wrapping everything up.

Humans: 65(ish) %
Mages: 10%
Ending: 2%

Hello TwoSharp. How goes the project? Is Sylvia still in the game? Haven’t played in awhile so I’d be very sad if my guard disappeared.
Hmmm how long has it been since this started? Feels like just yesterday that you and your sister had just started your w.I.ps up.
@Razgriz It’s good to hear/read from you! Yes, Sylvie is still in the game though not in this next chapter. Chapter 5 is all about a training exercise and I keep wanting to bang my head against my computer with how many ifs I’ve given myself. (Labor of love though and the things I have done I’m very proud of, but my pace is another story.)
I don’t know the specific date but I started this in June. SharpOne followed shortly after if I recall correctly.

Yep and once I finish chapter 5 I’ll be doing additions to relationships so you’ll be getting new hanging out scenes with her too. (But this is a while away…Now I’m feeling old.

Tell me about it, way back then I was just a kid with a dream to make video games.
Now I’m a slightly older kid who still has that dream.
You have three games planned for the series right?
@Razgriz No, I still have a little more I need to do before being done with school.
This is planned as a three book series. I have the plot for the other two books all worked out, but it may take a really, really long time until release.

@TwoSharp perhaps it will take awhile but hey it’s better to have something to look back on and think, “I made that.” When it’s finally done. It really is something to be proud of when you finish your first game/book.
You know you should probably make a book out of the games once you’re done. The coding seems like it would be the hardest part in normal games so remove that and you’re set.
How’s SharpOne doing? Haven’t seen her on in awhile.
