False Ancestry (WIP) [100K Words | Prologue Act 2]

I can’t see what you guys are replying too lol.

Lowkey, I forgot to make the Rachael solo event playable it seems. And the Rachael kiss is still the same as before,

@10narayanan You picked this option right? if so, then I don’t know why it isn’t selectable unless I broke the code.

I broke the code, will be pushing an update to fix said code.

Yes @Fraud_Writer - That’s the choice I picked.

Code is broken and will be fixed soon, I need to add a few other things anyway.

Thank you alot, and the Rachael kiss will be fixed soon. I will be dropping a big fix soon but thats about it for now.

Question: what is the ethnicity of mc..as they are considered black by npc. Why skintone passable as white..why cannot it be player choice ethnicity?

Because it’s a false ancestry, meta concept

The player character is African American. Their father is Caucasian and their mother is black. Meaning they are mixed and their skin tone can be more of a spectrum with those subgroups.

Because I wanted to explore the story from a poc perspective.

Thanks for adding the POV for the NPCs and fixing the kiss scene with Rachael. It’s great. There seems to be an issue with Skye’s POV in Act 2

Will fix, in a second. Along with some other issues I found.

Thanks for clearing. My stats showed John instead of Jane same with backstory

Also gender variable characters height is same between m/f ?:face_with_raised_eyebrow:

Because their name is John, it’s a bit complicated due to me not explaining it in the story. But John is Jane’s name that they chose for themselves, since they are presenting themselves as male.

Their “real” and original name is Jane.

I have to fix that, Irene and Irwin are different heights.

Hey Ive noticed that the MC race is for some reason being set to black. Now I know that is to add some racism in the plot, I would like to argue that you could add other too like the MC can choose to be a white if they just wanna play this as normal, or chose other backgrounds like Japanese? Mexican? South Asian? or even Indigenous! Something I can relate too. Because it feels like it is exclusively for African Americans while the opinions of other groups experiences are frowned upon and ignored. Either way I loved the story line, Characters and the POC updates! Keep it up!

I don’t think it’s accurate to say that playing like a white person is “playing as normal.” Maybe try rephrasing that?

Normal in a way that the MC isnt judged by their race or called some racial slurs like being called chinese when your asian or other slurs only being treated as an equal or even better make it mixed race where your race isnt even important or invisible.

The author had said, more than once, that the ethnicity of the player character is one they want to portray with hard specifics in the story.

We don’t ask to be a fairy in a game about being a dragon; why is a set ethnicity for the player character here in this story so problematic? The only right answer is that it isn’t, and everyone who’s asked about this needs to reevaluate what’s more important to them. If controlling the complexion of a player character you pilot as a reader matters to you, then this is not the game for you.

Have the decency to not repeatedly poke, prod, and pester about it. The answer was given at the beginning of this thread, and in the WIP demo’s forward preface.
