I hope they don’t make a move, but I know I’m going to be on edge as long as Sidestep is bedridden
Fair, though no matter how much Sidestep will cry about it, I doubt they will bag and tag them from the rangers or their homes.
They want to be discreet. And again they will fail in capturing this regene, idiots.
That’s what happened with one of my MCs. At the start, they pretty much didn’t care about who would end up dead as long as they could reach their goals but it slowly changed in the second book. It’s actually quite interesting seeing how Step’s inner monologue changes depending on how much of a villain they’re willing to be.
For example, I have three MCs: one who hasn’t killed anyone yet and goes out of their way to ensure civilians don’t end up in danger. One who’s repenting and trying their best to make sure no one dies anymore. And one who is an unrepentant killer who doesn’t feel any remorse. It’s nice seeing the three of them reacting differently to the same events, even if it’s something small.
There’s a lot of reactivity to player choices, which is one of the many things that make this series so engaging.
So first of all I haven’t been keeping up with the 3rd book’s development at all, so this is my first taste of it. I just played one of the links from the top post and first got a scene where my car-crashed MC wakes up at Mortum’s after being broken out of hospital by Sky Raider.
With the puppet sitting next to him. And the scene played out almost as if it was the MC in puppet’s body, trying to figure out whe the hell was wearing the MC’s skin. But the MC is himself, so… Does it mean the MC’s personality could have copied itself into the puppet?Somehow? Because if yes, then I’m now dying to know what must be done in Rebirth/Retribution to get this outcome. My other 2 attempts to run this scenario got me a) possbly Ace awakened and very-very pissed at me b) something violent and deranged trying to kill the MC.
I’d very much prefer to deal with the non-violent puppet in my canon)))
You can choose Impostor in the character creator in Revelations for now. If I remember correctly, the diplomatic one was nr 4.
But this is temporary choice. We don’t know what determine puppet’s personality in Rebirth and Retribution.
Might have something to do with Puppet individuality. I think in Rebirth you had choices between feeling the puppet being a separateperson from you or making them feel more like you overwrote them.
I love how we can be afraid of Sidestep as the puppet. This story is so cool and I can’t wait for a replay of book 1 and 2 followed by book 3.
This is not any Sidestep
Thief will regret messing with Sidestep
Bad news, I was about to test my new demo, but CSIDE is throwing out bugs and is no longer accepting things that used to work before, it seems that implicit control no longer works. Apparently I am not alone in having these bigs, but hell if I know how to solve it. Will keep working at it, but the demo might take longer than anticipated. It is written though…
That’d be bizarre if it suddenly stopped being supported with no announcement to boot. I imagine you could, ahem, sidestep the issue for the time being by switching to Visual Studio Code with choicescript extension…?
I booted up my old computer with the broken keyboard and it works fine there… I wonder if it is a win11 issue. Or possibly an autoupdate issue, it won’t connect and I can’t update to the latest version on this one. Oh well, will test on the old one instead.
I suspect this is the case, CSIDE can be finicky. ICF is such a widely used thing that killing it would be insane in a CS update.
