I was just curious if it was possible to romance Ortega later on in the game even though you are friends in the past. I just started and I just wanted to know because I wanted to make sure romance was still an option.

You can romance them later on (book 2) even if you finish book 1 as friends.
Edit: yes, you can do it in book 1 too. Your relationship status doesn’t affect your chances.
