Ah, that. I thought it would be a shame if they dropped off the radar altogether, even though I’m not working on them all that frequently anymore 
(I’m probably going to allow some of my older and thoroughly dead projects to slip into oblivion, though.)

He won’t even appear in half of all playthroughs… I guess my point is that I don’t (just) want Darius as an RO; I want him as an important gay character who’ll be gay and important no matter who’s playing the game and what choices they make, the way that Jason is an important, straight character no matter who’s playing the game and what choices they make.

Very interesting concept you have there. I’d prefer a bit more interaction between the characters and the MC though. Seems a bit lacking to me

The MC isn’t supposed to be all that sociable from the getgo, but yes, it could use some work. If I ever get past this point in the story I’m probably going to do a fair amount of re-writing on the first few chapters.

The romance (at least with Finn) feels really awkward. I think it might work better if you have responses to how he’s acting rather than how the puppet feels - I wanna jump his bones, He’s slutty but I’d still wanna do it after he says love ya, Don’t ever ever ever touch me - all lead to jarring responses at least to me. I just want to be his friend… doesn’t mean I don’t think he’s cute 
And flirting is fun, doesn’t mean you have to actually go with it. Dorian (Dragon Age) flirts with male and female but he’s gay.

For female MCs, yes. Doesn’t mean you have to stop trying when your MC is a guy, just ask @Lithophene…

Yes, that part is rather awkward… I never saw the appeal of people like that, so that might be part of the problem 
There is already a friendship path for Finn, by the way. It’s just a bit difficult to find. Did you get that yet?

Neither… but… I do play a lot of games and two that come to mind that are done well are Zevran (Dragon Age, again), and Jed (Coming Out on Top 
).

There are some more detailed mentions of that earlier in the thread, and it’s been a while, so my memories are a bit hazy. IIRC you need to not go straight for the flirting and physical stuff, and agree to go along with him on the tour.

I just wanted to say that this is one of the finest WiPs I have played. I really like the interactions with characters, and the perspectives from other characters provide an unique way of viewing the world (it reminds me of watching a TV series). The characters themselves are very interesting as well - I especially liked the Doc and her conversation with her child, and Jason is just that perfect image of a soldier. The MC is also very well-written - I like how you showed that they isn’t not in fact in full control of themselves. The setting remind some me of two of TV shows I really like - The Expanse with a touch of Blindspot (given the predicament MC is in). The only problem I have is that I really want to see what happens next! I hope you continue working on this game when you have time. Thanks again!
Oh, you probably know about that already, but there is an error (tabs and spaces in one line) that appears when MC helps with the battle planning but is not partaking in it. I had the Doc with child conversation on the page before.

Yes. That’s the end of the “middle autonomy” path right now. There’s a little bit more content for the high autonomy path, and that’s also the branch with the stuff I’ve been working on for the last update.

Yes and yes. You can’t stay out of the battle and save the pilot while still being allowed to wander around freely, though. I’ve got to make the middle ground interesting somehow

This WIP is fascinating! I like how intentionally railroading is part of the plot and not just because the writer is, for lack of a more appropriate term, lazy. Switching POVs and finding out new stuff you wouldn’t normally know if you don’t switch POV (like Finn sleeping w/ his teacher) is nice. I tried to vary my playthroughs as much as I can and it’s very fun. I tried to befriend/romance all characters with both genders. So far my favorite RO is Jason. The part with exchanging letters and both of them [MC and him] being like teenagers in their puppy love phase is so adorable! He’s honestly so… vanilla. But I like that about him so much

Romancing Jason as male is torture tho. I really can’t help but cringe during that kiss scene. Just… ugh. I impulsively restarted after skimming his reaction. I didn’t even finish reading the whole page lol. But anyway, I still tried to see this kind of route through. Him offering to be wingman is just awkwardly sad to both me and my MC [who still has feelings] 
As for the other characters…
Xena: I felt disheartened upon learning that Xena is straight. When I first read their descriptions in the stats, she’s the 2nd one I wanted to romance the most. And I also thought fem!MC and her are being so cool together. Still, being friendly rivals is interesting enough 
Trying to get close to her as male is also interesting. Looks like she’ll be the one to take the initiative lol
Finn: The one I felt like romancing the most based on descriptions alone is Finn. I like diplomat[ic] characters and him being a charmer is another plus. I ended up kinda disliking him tho 
On my first try w/ him, my MC has [had?] a relationship w/ him but got too nervous and backed out when they were about to do ‘it’. I got the epilogue of him still sleeping around so I tried again and slept w/ him this time around. But then, I still got the cheat ending asfdghdjkkl what the heck i hate him. It isn’t until I tried being friends w/ him [2nd option in the ‘attracted or nah’ question] that this hatred turned into fondness-ish. Long story short, he’s totally becoming my problematic fave in this game.
Ariel: Oh Ariel! When you described her as calm and composed, I totally expected for her to be the ice queen type. Man, was I so wrong. She’s cool-headed yeah but she’s much more enthusiastic and cheery compared to MC when they’re hanging out. It’s actually… cute? This whole gap moe and polar opposites thing? Yep it’s really cute and I live for it! I’m not gonna deny that I was squealing inside during their moments and when Ariel’s mom brought up ‘meeting someone’ and the first person on Ariel’s mind is MC. I tried playing her route first as a girl then a guy and actually enjoyed more when playing her w/ a girl. The cute girlfriends thing is, well, cute. But then, I think her noting that MC is a woman and by skimming through the forum, I think she’s supposed to be straight?? Please tell me she is at least bi-curious. Pwetty pwease??
Doc: Doc’s kid (Lily) is cool I was mostly neutral to Doc but warmed to her when I found out she has a kid and got to meet her. Doc’s crush (?) on fem!MC and talking about her w/ Lily is just adorbs! If it’s male!MC, the charm thing is funny haha. Lily is so overprotective of her mom. Now that I think about it, I am curious on what exactly happened with Doc and Lily’s dad. Even Brown brought it up and it seems to reallyyy affect Doc. So are they divorced? Guy left her preggers or sth? Turned out to be a terrorist or wanted criminal? Betrayed the group? Anyway, is there any chance that we’ll be finding this out later on?
Darius/Mylene: Don’t know much about them yet but I saved them in most of my playthroughs. I think the hero worship thing later on would be interesting. I don’t know them yet but rest assured that I already want to be at least friends w/ them

PS i think i got error messages when I tried to be less suspicious during Jason’s and Finn’s friend route? I’m sorry I can’t remember how exactly I got it but IIRC, I didn’t save the pilot and/or didn’t help with the bombing thing AT ALL. No plans, no help in battle.
