South America should be magic because the. Aztecs who lived there believes in magics of sorts
Its dead? Awww
That or its gonna be either very long or very awesomely made, maybe even both hopefully.
It makes me a sad panda that Norway doesn’t have a colour.
@Bikkje Your profile pic is Tudio (?) right?
@Shintaro Tulio*, and yes.
@Bikkje The Road to El Dorado was one of my favorite movies when I was about 5-7. It still is pretty awesome.
@Toa_Onarax
I know i’m a bit late to the party(I’m fairly new so I’m used to it by now)but I just had an idea. I’m Scottish and I noticed you’ve been referring to England-by which I’m guessing you mean the UK- so here’s the idea:
You’ve already made Ireland independent from the UK(for obvious reasons) but as Scotland is the second most vocal part of the British isles about patriotism/independence from the English and we have roots in all three cults you could say. Magic being Scottish folklore, Tech being the technological advancements we’ve made(TV,penicillin, light bulb-James Watt actually figured it out first-to name a few, more here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Scottish_inventions_and_discoveries) and Genetics well Scots make up only 9% of Team GB for the 2012 Olympics but so far we’re responsible for 50% of the medals won by the team.
If you think my ideas suck just say so, but I’d genuinely like to see this as part of a game that sounds as good as yours
I had an idea for australia, what if instead of tech is was split between genetics and magic. Australia was used by the english(genetics) as a place to dump outlaws and prisoners. The Changelings used australia as a test ground for trying to develope an isolated race of supermen. What the Changlings didnt know was that the magics had beat them there and recruited the natives (Aboriginals)
Is there a link?
Nope.
Is this game dead?
Yep.
Woah, I did not expect all these people saying they were interested in the game. It really is awesome to see, thanks you guys.
In terms of the game itself, well, lets just say real life hit hard. I’m in Freshman year now so that in itself has come with a lot of responsibilities and work, but I do hope to pick this game up again at some point. Hopefully it’ll live up to the expectations of you guys. Personally I feel that the earliest I’ll be able to start working on this in earnest will be in November, but from now on I’ll try and keep you guys updated.
Thanks for all the support guys, it really means a lot to me.
O.O IT’S ALIVE!!!
@Shintaro hopefully it’ll stay that way.
So, I’d like to start collecting a tally of things people would be interested in seeing in this game, so I’ll see if I can fit it in, so if you have any of idea for anything, please don’t hesitate to post it.
Also, as I’ve been gone for a while, is there anything major concerning CoG or CoG Game Development that I’ve missed. (Updates, new features, etc.)
me i like to see this game
Um…not really. Just some new games.
I personally would like to see an alternate story mode option
What do you mean? @Shintaro
Game Update:
So, I’ll be making some major changes to this game over the next few weeks, and will most likely start coding in November. While the premise and stuff will remain the same, much will change. I’m going to flush out factions, develop motivations, establish a stronger plot, create character profiles, etc.
Most of this stuff I’ll be posting here, so stay on the lookout.
With that out of the way, I’d like to move on to the first major update.
The Genetics faction has a much different history than previously created. A history that I consider to be far superior to my original idea:
The new history has the Genetics group splitting off from the Magic Faction as tech increased. They were originally a group of magicians who called themselves Shifters. Theses Shifters would use Magic to morph themselves into various forms, many of which were the inspiration for creatures and monsters of folklore, examples include Werewolves, Vampires, Ogres etc. However this practice was shunned by other Magicians as the concept of Magic was all about manipulating the natural order of the world. It was meant to allow a human to manipulate the world’s resources to their advantage. Not to manipulate themselves.
However the use of Magic left many impurities in the user, for one thing there was only a limited amount of time a bearer could remain transformed, the longer one was transformed the greater the chance to go Feral(In which they essentially became nothing more than a mindless beast). This was especially prevalent in the case of creatures like Dragons, something only a few Shifters could accomplish. Impurities also left behind a prevalence of weaknesses, that could not be eradicated, and the user’s mental state would often disintegrate from repeated transformations. Lastly the Shifters wanted to improve a the powers of a Human in order to create the ideal human, a Human with the powers of all creatures but the appearance of a regular Human. This ideal, codenamed Lucifer, was a goal just not possible via Magic.
As large advances in Tech continued to increase, the Shifters believed that they could use Technology to enhance humans, however this concept was still shunned by the other Tech groups, and thus they became their own independent faction. This is independent faction is the Modern Day Version of the Shifters.
These Shifters first strove to replicate the effects of Magical changes using technology, after many trials and errors, resulting in different abominations on the Earth. They were able to mimic a few of the more powerful creatures, including Vampires, Werewolves, etc. These creatures though were not as likely as before to succumb to going Feral. However the still possessed many impurities.
If a player chooses to follow the Genetics Path, they will start with the option to pick a base template for their character’s powers, for example Vampires would be the strength class, possessing the most raw strength out of any of the templates. At the same time they possess a variety of subpowers, such as draining a foe of blood to replenish energy. The player can, over time, unlock more of these powers.
Another template that will be offered is the Werewolf which would be the stealth and speed class. These Werewolves would be able to blend into nearly any darkness, and can move with blinding speed. They too possess subpowers, such as enhanced senses, which the player can unlock.
If the player so wishes it they can also attempt to remove the powers, or strive towards achieving Lucifer.
So thoughts on the changes to the Genetics Groups, suggestions on stuff to add or improve?
