Loved playing the game, loved reading the novels. I need more ![]()
I need to go back and replay it. Its been a while.
I want to hate Charles again.
This story has some of the best characterization I’ve ever read across all media! I keep pondering the motivations, the subtext and implications and those Endings-! My goodness, what compelling characters. It makes for fantastic horror and not only that, the chemistry and dynamics between the vampires, between Lenore and every other combination, the mind games, Rich is such a Tsundere omg
The Apartment 311 ending was so funny (lmao poor Lenore she was losing her marbles for a hot sec), the BFF ending felt so satisfying (Paul you little shit I know he got caught on purpose, but I’ll forgive it cause going to the theaters with your Stockholm Syndrome besties is wholesome in a fucked up way), the ending with Lenore’s heartbeat lives rent free in my mind, I don’t even know how to articulate my feelings on that one. Obsessed with the ending where Rich can’t help eat Lenore and KEEPS HER EYES-
What silly yet monstrous beasts in human skin.
Charles is such a pathetic bastard and Paul’s creature, like he was Made into what he is and Paul is such a gaslighting Queen. Rich is right about his buddy being just as bad as he is with the psychological torture. Paul is such a hypocrite yet morbidly fascinating in his philosophy and how he views friendship/his dynamic with friends because he Does grow attached but that doesn’t stop him from being a POS. Truly what a Duo.
Peak fiction.
the heartbeat ending ![]()
Maybe one of my favorite story endings of all time!
@MeadowMellow
It means so much to me that you reached out. THANK YOU for playing the game, reading the novels, and taking the time to make it to the BFF epilogue (not easy to get).
@Jender & @Victoriya even after all this time, I always smile when I see your names pop up in this thread.
I think this is one of the best games on this platform, grossly under-rated probably because its not like the others. I have been playing it on and off for the last few years on my mobile, but forget to play it on my computer so I can read it properly, which is usually the reason I end up dead. Its like playing chess, its a challenge, but it has given me hours of pleasure trying to beat it, so thank you @Elena_H for a game that puts many AAAs to shame! I have the books too and promised myself I would not read them until I beat the game. Haha! ![]()
Thank you @barca1au!
Reading your post totally made my weekend. I hope you enjoy the books when you finally beat the game. ![]()
@Elena_H Are both the books back in print yet?
No, I’m the absolute worst. ![]()
I keep going back to re-edit Bait, and I’m never totally happy with it. I should probably just suck it up and put it back out there.
How different is the currently available edition of Donor from the original version?
Donor isn’t any different - with the exception of a grammar/spelling correction that the copy editor missed upon initial publication.
With Bait, it’s more complicated. I always felt like the story dragged in the middle – not an easy fix without introducing continuity issues. ![]()
Thanks for letting me know! Although I’ll probably end up re-buying Donor anyway if you ever make signed copies available!
I really enjoyed your game, one of the best here. If you don’t mind, I have a few questions and also some suggestions ![]()
Do you plan on expanding this universe? If so, which type of game do you enjoy writing more, a sequel or a prequel?
Have you considered making other games set in this universe, but with an MC from a different perspective or point of view? For example, a Vampire MC from the start, or a Hunter MC (they probably exist in this universe, right?).
Suggestion: Not gonna lie, I really enjoy games where we hunt monsters, but it’s not just that. You created some amazing characters in Donor. After playing it, I genuinely felt a craving to hunt down vampires, to make monsters like Richard (as I said, great job there, I hate Richard’s guts
) feel what it’s like to be in the shoes of the prey, to become their own Robert Neville legend.
I know there’s a gray line between being a monster and being a sentient being with a twisted nature, mixing parasitism and humanity, and that would allow room for some really interesting plots, much like I Am Legend does in the end. In a game like that, we could play as a vampire who hunts their own kind, or a human hunter raised Winchester-style, haha.
Thanks again for this amazing story/game.
All the best, always ![]()
