Very true. To my knowledge the “Imaginary Friend” WIP is the first game here to specifically allow you to specify the MC’s physical appearance through his/her build (Adonis build woof!) and I’m curious to see how that’s going to turn out as that project develops further.
Couldn’t agree more, except that I don’t mind if the game lets me specify my mc’s hair and eye colour, since I always make up a picture of them in my mind anyway.
Ah…about that, since in your game the Demons have now destroyed everything my poor (literally) character used to own I had half a mind to go all Terminator on them and take a badass leather outfit by force, especially since I don’t fancy my mc having to spend the entire sequel in the same ratty outfit of presumably jeans sneakers and a t-shirt.
I bought it, like anybody else would. If only so that I could more easily explain to my in-laws what it is that I spent all that time writing.
I don’t know if there’s some sort of maker’s discount. I never asked. Of course, a percentage of what I paid comes back to me as royalties, so that’s kind of a discount.
Having an MC description in the stat page could be handy depending on the story.
NPC descriptions are also dependent. Knowing nothing about a “childhood friend” just isn’t right. They can still keep a few secrets for later of course.
I personally love having very specific NPC descriptions, especially for ROs, but I do like it when small details are left to the player’s imagination. It helps me get immersed and just feels more like a real person rather then some open-ended text on a screen. I also like being able to select a few things of my PC.

Well as long as my character’s eye or hair color is used in the story somewhere I don’t mind, but if it’s something I have to select every time I play only to never get used, then I’d rather it be left up to my imagination.
