Strictly speaking it is probably set in a past time where marriage was likely to happen much younger since, you know, the average life expectancy was a tad shorter. Remember that movie also came with a delightful short with the adaptation of the Russian children’s story where a match seller freezes to death.
(Ok actually that was from 2006 maybe it was on the DVD but still)
Still, can’t be more problematic than the first movie where the day is saved thanks to platonic siblings instead of actual romance and a sizeable response from fandom seems to be ‘yeah no they should totally be an incestual couple cause we don’t understand what platonic or familial love actually is’…
And the mermaid end with Ursula or Someone that loves her. Poor mermaid in original story.

tbh i love the dresses. i see shiny dress i goes “preddy”
and the songs…i admit i’ve sang them enough to annoy anyone around me…but when youre stressed it feels so good to just scream LET IT GO or I AM MOANAAAA at the top of your lungs.
other than that…idk im just so tired of disney monopoly and the older i get disney princesses become less and less enjoyable and i found myself rolling my eyes at their life choices. like aurora pls have some self-preservation this man grabs you from behind and youre in the forest alone (birds dont count as people, sry), you should be running.
