This was one of the first interactive fiction works I’ve ever read… and by now I count them in hundreds. This one will always be special to me. It made me feel so comfortable and safe in a rather turbulent time of my life (realizing I was autistic). Honestly, I’m almost crying at the news. Release so soon!!
Wow one of the OGs WIP actually releasing. I remember so many WIP in dashingdon was actually so close to being finished just never released.
Wow, congratulations! I confess I don’t remember much about what the book is about. But I’m sure I’ve read the demo at some point. Congratulations on the upcoming release.
Will there be a demo before release? Like the first 3 chapters?
On Monday, probably.
OOOOO! A lesson to everyone to never give up!
Both on writing and on crossing one’s fingers a favorite WIP may return from production hell, a hiatus or even a cancellation. It’s lovely to see.
holy! i vaguely remember this demo from years and years ago. Congrats on finally getting the full release!!! i cant wait to read it
Diaspora will be released this Thursday, August 6th. You can play the demo here for free today!
Super excited! August 6 is my birthday and this is a great gift lol, I’ve been waiting for years!
I’ve been waiting for this day for years!
I keep checking to see if I can buy it yet ![]()

I played the original version of the game the more or less complete one when it was all publicly available a few years back I’m really curious to see what, if anything, got changed from that
The game seems to be available on at least the Hosted App (unsure about other places). Can’t wait to start reading when home later.
Game is officially out
Yep, it’s out! I think it’ll be a little bit yet before we have a Steam demo specifically, but we’re working on that—everything else seems like it’s good to go.
Sincerely, we hope you all enjoy. ![]()
Congratulations ![]()
I’ll an immediate buy for me!
Congratulations on your release!!
Congratulations on the release! I hadn’t been following the game previously but it looked too good not to try, and I absolutely loved it (and blasted through it in about 1.5 days, what even is sleep).
I found it a really thought-provoking story with ideas pulling you in different directions (I think the best games don’t offer a clear right answer, and I definitely wrestled with some of my choices). The NPCs were also excellent, and all very distinctly and clearly drawn. And the world is so rich and interesting. I can imagine you might not want to jump back in after ten years (!) but I would love to read more stories in the world, if you felt like writing any.
Also, Sangarinus is a total babe. ![]()
I don’t know if this was meant to be an intended theme, but one I got out of it was moderation and keeping as many options as long as you can is a good thing, but only to a certain point. That’s what I did, I tried to balance everybody’s needs and wants, between prepping for war and assimilation, etc. etc. etc. and then it worked for 90% of the game and then chapter 11 happened, and at a certain point, no matter how much you try to compromise and you have to adapt or die, move, prepare, and fight back when required.
Yes, I had a similar experience of trying to be moderate/peaceful, and I thought the game did a really good job of forcing us into some kind of action in the end. You can only be a fence-sitter for so long, and it makes sense, given the stakes and what the other factions are trying to do.
