Hello. Sorry again for the radio silence, but I badly needed to destress after some terrible stuff happened. If you havenāt been checking the blog, this post has the details. Iām mostly okay now, but it has made me reconsider my plans about the game. It was also my birthday last last week, if thatās something you care about.
Anyway, I just finished coding in the new Ancestry and Heritage Traits! I changed a lot of them to be a lot more thematic, so Iām mostly satisfied with the new trait effects. If there are any further changes, it will most likely just be number tuning.
Ancestry Traits
You can select an Ancestry Trait regardless of your chosen favorite genre. There are two versions of the Ancestry Traits. The enhanced version (indicated by the ā+ā symbol) is only unlocked if you choose High Fantasy as your favorite genre.

Notes:
Some Traits will improve your āMain Statā. The first attribute (Vigor/Grace/Knowledge/Charm) that you choose to increase during the prologue is considered your main stat.
Some Traits also grant [Enhanced Senses]. Having this trait gives you additional information on certain interactions, such as when eavesdropping and exploring in the dark.
[Diurnal/Nocturnal Focus] is the status effect you receive from [Morning Person/Night Owl] if itās your preferred time of day; [Sleepyhead] if itās the opposite.
I still need to edit the prologue with the new changes, but this is shaping up to be a fairly big update (since Iām also doing a quick editing pass on the whole game), so Iāll probably wait and release the changes along with the rest of the missing choices in Chapter 5.
Iām also going to change some parts of the prologue/diary so it mentions the job of MCās dad, but you probably already know that if youāve read IAC.
