I have no problem reading the text, though I’m not to keen on the color scheme. And I agree with what @CJW basically said about it being too busy.

My job has been keeping me crazy busy, living out of hotel rooms for the time being. But I have found a little time to study, and my programming skills are getting better. Yet not were I need them to be yet. Along with other projects I am working on I have been tinkering around with the layout. So would like a little feedback on what you think. Its getting there, but feel its just not right yet. Of course I am never happy with my own work. lol. There is no changes to the game yet but if you could look at the layout that would be great. Thanks.

it’s really hard to read in a iPhone the black font in the grey background maybe another grey less dark? but look cooler than before live the orange background

Thanks @MaraJade will keep that in mind when I get a chance to code again.

@CJW This just a concept design at this point, I knew there was some problems with. So your feedback is very helpful, as well as yours @fantom. There is a lot going on in the game and want to capture it at a glance. Perhaps I do need to tone it down some. Something to ponder until I get a chance to work on it again.

Ok I have the next developmental stage up for the design. Your feedback was very helpful in this design so hope it is now more pleasing to the eye. Of course some of this will not function until I rewrite the code. Thanks

That’s considerably better! I’m still not sure if that all needs to be on that same page though, it’s the kind of information you’d want tucked away in a stats screen for reference ‘as and when’ isn’t it? Though it does remind of one of the old Might & Magic (not heroes) games somewhat, which I enjoyed thoroughly.

Thanks @CJW I removed what I felt could be found under the lapstone. I am staying away from the stat button in this game. I have always loved the games with lots on the screen for quick look see, so hench the design. I do like this a lot better myself, but still feel it might need more refinement. I am using a 30 row table design for the layout, which comes out to 1000 squares. I may tack another 500 squares to help refine it a little more.

I spent the last 5 hours redoing the layout. I can’t say that it is perfect, nonetheless I think it looks decent. Would like your all’s feedback thanks. Now on to some recoding so I can get back to the story development.

*edit Please do not forget to refresh

colors easy to read and good looking the page is almost impossible of play in a small phone screen I have to move the text constantly and is painfully

I have to agree with @MaraJade the layout makes it awkward to play on a mobile. Haven’t tried it on my pc or tablet yet tho.

Thank you @MaraJade and @Nocturnal_Stillness. I have put some thought into this and believe I will offer a stripped down version for phone size. Meaning it will just have the text area. I will be adding a button that will allow you to switch to striped down version quickly. It will add only a small amount of work as I will have to double the pages, one for full size and one for phone size. I really want to keep the large version as I play on my laptop more then my phone. Of course once I add the save file which ever format you choose, the save will only work for that setup.

I have put in 10 hours of design today so going to call it a day. Will add the strip down version on the next update and will then start the coding process. As always thanks for the awesome feedback.

You can use the media attribute on your css link, to apply seperate cascading style sheets based on screen resolution?

It’s not great on my Kindle Fire either - at present.

@CJW I will play around with the css and see what I can get, but it is a rather complex table design not sure if I can get the desired results. I do feel a stripped down version for small screen sizes will be ok. The game is first and for most a story so the rest is just adding to the players senses.

I managed to get my hands on a book for css design, may take me a few weeks to get through. Ican see an advantage to using css for the layout so will be worth my time.

cheers up you are doing a great job ! looking for the update

Thanks @MaraJade but this does not bring me down at all. been at this to long to let a little thing like not know how to do it stop me :D. I understand the basics of CSS, and with this book will in time have a greater understanding. For now will work on a little work around until my skill level reaches where I need it to be. lol my muse is having a fit because I have not been writing of late, she has taken to flooding my dreams. So write I must, and learn I will. Life’s Grand

i keep getting to the sneeze part and it crashes no error just pops up the normal click ok to send

Sorry @whocares916. Changing the design has made some of the, code not work. I am currently working on learning css to make the design smoother for smaller screens. Once I manage this will be fixing code and adding storyline.

With my job, family, and contest I have strayed from this project for a time. Now that I have a free min. I went and redesigned it, hopefully for the last time. It seems to me good on my laptop as well as my phone. But again would like some feedback. While I may not have had time to work on the game I have a months worth of notes. So as time permits I will be back to writing out the opening chapter. I also fleshed out a lot of the subplots as well. And have a strong ending. Still, tons more todo. Thanks all for the feedback.

Reminder to refresh and the game is broken until I get back to the coding.
