Can’t get past this screen
Same thing on my end.
Likewise, stuck there.
I saw the author post this in the writers support thread: February 2026 Writer Support Thread - #285 by Dvalor53
To be honest, I didn’t think this many people were still playing this demo! Wow.
This is related. I was setting up to reduce it and left in some code, which broke the demo. Sorry about that. It should be fixed, but it stops after chapter 5 now.
This is such a fun setup honestly. The whole “world with no powers… until now” angle immediately pulled me in. Being the first real superhero must make every choice feel heavier, since there’s no blueprint to follow.
Also, that’s a huge amount of content for a demo. 150k words per run is kind of insane in the best way. I like that you can shape so much about your character too — it makes replaying feel worth it.
Ryker City sounds like the perfect place for everything to spiral. Definitely looking forward to seeing how this grows.
Welcome to the community!
Thank you for your kind words. I’m not really sure what most games’ average word count is per playthrough, but I wanted people to have an idea for my game. This demo link no longer demos the full game. Soon, I’ll patch in some more spelling and grammar corrections that are for the final submission before launch.
I really liked the game and the fact you listened to the readers and made changes, any idea when part 2 demo would be released because I can wait also any idea when it would be released
Hello everyone,
I’ve been meaning to do my end-of-month update for a bit, but I keep missing it, so I’m making this post now since there are major news updates!
Dawn of Heroes has a release date and is now available for Wishlist on Steam. The link will be at the bottom of this post and on the first post. The game is slated for release on April 2nd. I think this makes me the next Hosted Game release, but I’m not sure.
As for the future of this series, I’m well into the next story (Carousel Paradox) and the third (The War on Peace). A few weeks ago, I decided to work on both parts two and three at the same time. There are a few reasons for this, but the main one is dealing with the introduction of a second main character and setting up events between the two stories.
As for when those demos will be live, I’m not sure. I’ve had the demo kind of ready for over half a year, but I might wait a long time before releasing it, so that I can ensure consistent updates. Since I’m jumping between the two projects, there might be times when I’m working on part three and won’t have an update for part two for months. Part three, of course, won’t get a demo until after the release of part two, since there are major spoilers.
At this time, I still plan to write two other career routes for Dawn of Heroes: Mechanic and Police. I want to add a few other bits here and there; however, that is not my main focus right now. Dawn of Heroes has been a five-year passion project for me, and I’d like a little distance from it, so that I may return with fresh eyes. Also, getting into parts two and three might let me set up some events better when I go to add those additional career routes.
Congrats!
BOOM!!! Wishlisted!!![]()
Hello, I was playing the demo when I spotted a typo in Breaker’s path, when breaker thanks us for the help, I choose the flirting option (the dinner one) and it says:
- Breaker stops and her tracks to turn towards me.
I think you meant to say she stopped in her tracks.
Hi, I can’t get past the job selection screen on cogdemos. I’ve tried it with all three professions. No matter what I select, it just loads forever and doesn’t progress to the next scene. Maybe this is a bug?
That was on me. I was trying to clean up the files and got rid of the three for the jobs. My bad. Should be fixed.
Hello everyone!
Normally, I do the post in the morning, but I was busy waking up and writing this morning. The next thing I know, I have to get ready for work. There really isn’t much of an update, but since there is less than a week until the game launches, I wanted to post.
I wanted to thank everyone who has given me feedback! This game has been in development for several years, and there will be even more years until the series is done. I look forward to continue interacting with other reading and superhero fans as this series continues.
I have been struggling to figure out how I want to go about releasing future projects in this series.
The next story is such a shift from this one that I anticipate some loss of fans and complaints. However, I don’t plan on changing what the story is. It’s the story I want to write and sets up the sidekick’s story for the sequel.
My thought on how I’ll mitigate the potential backlash is to release part three relatively soon after part two. This is another reason why I’ve been writing both part two and part three at the same time. I haven’t worked out the details for the timing of anything, but it would make me want to delay the demo and testing for part two until I’m much further in both stories than I am now.
I enjoyed making semi-regular updates for Dawn of Heroes, and I would like to do something like that for Carousel Paradox. I guess part of it would depend on how often people would hope for updates.
A few months ago, I shared a group photo of the group in their hero uniforms. This is the second image I commissioned, which is all of the same characters out of costume. Like the first picture, there are some flaws to it and inacuracies to the some characters. Lugh’s muscles are too big, Kyra’s hair too long, and a couple of other things. Still, I love the image and think the artist did an amazing job. Enjoy!
Congrat ! for the release (yeah for me it already release, in my head
).
Just here to say that female in high heel are not a superhero thing - bonus photo. -
How hero that make no noise can wear those ? This things are feet dead trap.
Until next.
Oh whoops! Missed updating a file. Should be fixed.
Dawn of Heroes will be released this Thursday, April 2nd.
You can play the demo here for free today!
Criminal I can’t romance the Celtic god
