Private games have a special link you use; it is located on the lower right of the UI control panel (if I remember correctly) … just be careful who you release the link to, and you will be fine.

You ‘private access’ link is always https://dashingdon.com/play/your-username/your-game-name/ (spaces are converted to dashes)

It is possible that someone could guess your link if they know your username and have an idea of your game name but adding a random string to the end of your game name (something like revolutionary-game-2BX744399A) will make it nearly impossible to guess.

Hi, been working on a choicescript project and lurking on these forums for guidance on and off for years but finally decided to make an account today. I was just trying to update some of my scene files on dashingdon but it keeps saying “0 files uploaded!” or something similar, which hasn’t ever happened to me before unless I had timed out of my session and needed to refresh and just log back in (which I’m sure isn’t the case now). Anyone else having a similar problem?

I’m having the same problem. I also can’t create a new game because of an error, while the one I deleted remains accessible (as in, the link is still working, even though the game is not even on my dashboard anymore).

This might be because Dashingdon was moved to a different service and server about 3 hours ago, and he’s hoping the issues have resolved after a fourth hour has passed, so it might just be a matter of patience.

Thank you everyone for your kind donations. I’ve moved the site to a different service (all accounts and games have been copied over) with an even better server than the previous upgrade. There is enough funds to run the site for several months so for now I will not create any sort of monthly membership. When the donations are nearly depleted I will reconsider it. Until the DNS propagates and the SSL resolves completely (i.e. all the interwebs comes to an agreement on the new home of dashingdon…

I’m looking into the issue with game creation and file uploading. Likely a permissions issue somewhere I missed after the transfer. If you message me the deleted game that is still showing up then I can take care of it manually.

Thank you! I’m not in any rush at all, just found it an odd occurrence. I’ll check back another day. I can’t even express how thankful I am that this community is still so active so many years after I first played Choice of the Dragon and decided to start experimenting with choicescript, and that @dashingdon is still working so hard to keep the site running for all of us. My game is almost ready for beta testing, can’t wait to share it with all of you!

Ok looks like it was a permissions issue. I made some changes and was able to upload new scene files and image files to a test game. Hopefully all good now.

I’m trying to upload my images, but it just keeps saying 0 files uploaded. I am pretty sure the file names and code correlation are correct, it just wont upload for whatever reason.

Quick question if a demo on the website is stuck loading when trying to access a file is that an issue with my file or with the website?

This actually might just be me being stupid I had a file named In_My_Head when the actual file that is checked for is in_my_head.

I’ve altered that so hopefully that’ll fix it.

EDIT: The file name was the issue it works now.

Hay. Trying to set up my demmo on Dashingdon, but it keeps saying failier to create game. Anyone else haveing this issue? Also has something about:
HTTP ERROR 500
Anyway. Yeah, was sort of looking forward to uploading it today, so I can get feedback. Anyway.
