Does anyone know why the last three choices are greyed out? I’m at the section where we go to confront the Gargoyle Family with Stillwater. Am I missing some stat for this?

That’s because I’ve been very lazy and never “finished” that part. Meaning, the scenes that should come from the choice don’t even exist, so I can’t allow you to choose those parts. The reason why they’re visible is because I wanted to let the player choose them once I had finished the parts, but I never did.

I’ll change those things once I re-edit those parts. My apologies.

(In short: It’s because Cyberpolice is a Work In Progress(WIP), so it isn’t complete or in the final form. :stuck_out_tongue: )

Is the fifth option intended to be like this or is it accidental. It’s from the kebab section.

It’s intended to be like that. (well, not really. It’s entirely meaningless at present since I did the effect of that choice in a different way both later and earlier in the scene. I should’ve removed all of that entirely to be honest)

That’s how I do things when I’m not satisfied with a choice, but intend to change it later to be better or if it’s obsolete. Normally I’d also comment why I’ve done it, so I remember the reason later, but this was done very early on so I didn’t do that yet.

The reason for why I’ve “commented it away” this time is that it’s being handled later on in a different way, which allows the scene to be smoother and much easier to write. If the player could instantly mention the tampering, it’d lead to a series of things I’d need to write and take into account which would ruin the scene.

Instead, since you’re “forced” to overlook it, the rest of the scene can play out normally and the personality evaluation Stillwater tests you on still happens. However, you’ll still be able to call him out on it in the later nodes.

Anyway, thanks for bringing it to my attention. It certainly could have been accidental. It’s very rare for that to happen, but it’s possible, and when it does happen it’s pretty hard to notice with how much text there is.

Plus you also have written code in a certain unknown language in many places so what’s up with that. I tried google translate but it didn’t work so I can’t figure out what language it is

Well, the reason why the “unknown language” is there is because the comments are meant for me first and foremost. I didn’t even know people could read them originally by accessing the raw files.

(the unknown language is usually a mixture of Finnish and English, with a heavy dose of shortenings and parts of my own made up vocabulary for things that relate to the game that I can easily understand, but might be tough to understand for anyone that doesn’t understand the context. That said, I’m surprised google translate doesn’t translate it. I would’ve guessed it could do it easily enough. Also, if it’s written in the “unknown language” there’s a high chance it includes story and character spoilers or obsolete information that isn’t true anymore, so translate it at your own risk. )

Removing the comments from the uploaded files is quite of a hassle, so I don’t want to do it, since I already work slowly enough. Although I’ll likely do something about them once I re-edit the start.

The way I see it, if someone wants to read the underlying code or the choices, they’re free to do so, but I won’t do extra work to make it easier, since when the game is released it’ll all be pointless.

In short: Don’t worry about it.

Yah i could see from the English parts that its just weird ramblings. Also uve put a few jokes here and there that are fun when they pop up randomly in middle of the code

Heh, really? It’s been years so maybe I’ve just forgotten, but I guess that’s possible(especially later when I realized people read the comments and like. Didn’t think it was that early).

You never put in comments to amuse yourself?

Honestly, I don’t remember. That’s why I put comments, so I don’t have remember.

I do make puns for myself at times, that much I know, but not sure about other jokes. :stuck_out_tongue:

Haha, that’s fair. I like to put in little stuff that makes me smile when I write comments to myself, because that improves my mood when I bring myself up to speed by reading them, and obviously I work better when I’m not being miserable.

A question, I’m at the part where I’m interrogating Cyberdick and there are two deals I can make with him that confuses me.

My question is are they not the same person? Or are they different?

They’re different people. I’ll make a note to take a look at the specifics at some point to make it more clear. I checked the parts quickly and I can understand the confusion given the similar context. The short version is that even Cyberdick doesn’t know who the mystery contact is, but he has met the Zarenheim contact in person.
