I’m at nearly 24,000 words on my project! This was due to taking some days off my day job - unless I manage to clone myself, progress will be much slower as of now…

DAY 68 of Quarantine!!
Recent Additional Word Count : 5,172

I had a productive couple of days and my estimated completion date shrunk by an entire week.
I see the end of chapter 10. It’ll take me several day still, but I can SEE it. I have to finish the scene I’m on and write 2 smaller ones before I write a fairly large concluding scene.
After that, I move on to chapter 11. It’s a really big one, but after that is chapter 12 which will be the final chapter. It’ll be fairly large too, since it will contain the endings, each of which will need extra pieces strewn through the entire game to make them all tidy.
I would love to finish the rough copy by the end of June and then start alpha testing. I think beta may start in August. It’s moving forward!

I have done more than 10k in less than a week, in my hosted project. So I should have been proud. But I am feeling terrible and a failure, like everyone else will hate it.

I sympathize with the fear part, as I’m sure all the other authors do, too. But it’s commendable that you’ve written so many words despite the fear. Please try to be more forgiving with yourself (easier said than done, I know) and celebrate the little victories on the way.

Sometimes my fear is that people will read it and hate it. It’s up to us to conquer those fears every single time they raise their ugly heads, and remember why we write in the first place. Write for yourself, think about the audience later.

Write for yourself, but even so, people will want to read it.
I wrote my entire first game in silence for that reason. Even now, I don’t share with anyone due to that fear. I shared Lost Heir part way through, got discouraged, and wrote an entirely different book instead, before coming back to finish it.
And still, I like to hide my work until I’m done, and then hope people will enjoy it.
You’re doing great, Mara. And to think, you’re using a second language on top of it all. Very impressive!

Wrote two plays, a harry potter tabletop RPG system, and 20,000 40,000 words of my game TDUP during quarantine. Plus 20-odd pages of a game design document I’m working on. Feeling okay with my productivity.

Its been 26 days since I last posted on here and I finally got off my ass to write something down instead of watching YouTube videos and wallowing in self pity. Its only 1,447 words but its a full scene and I did it all in a few hours tonight. Now I have to put it in choicescript and actually edit it but that’ll wait until morning.
Is there a specific thread to link demos made on here or do I just post a link in another post?

DAY 75 of Quarantine!! Although things are starting to open here, for now. But I don’t go anywhere, so quarantine for me. We got to open the trailer for the year, so that will mean more quiet time for writing, which is awesome.

Every time I have some good days, it seems that something happens and I’m tied up for nearly a week after! I guess that’s life. Still moving forward. Estimated completion now says June 13th, which doesn’t seem too far away.
I finished a big section. I have 3 smaller scenes (still might take a day each!) and then 1 big scene to end this chapter. Of course, as I write, I often find myself taking care of another problem which has me adding/changing things through the whole game, so it’s hard to guess at how long things take.
Ever onward!

So I buckled down and got satisfying amounts written as well as ironed out some minor issues with the original direction alongside my writing partner. Of course, ironing out said issues revealed larger, much deeper issues that we will now have to think through, but I choose to keep an upbeat attitude. 
I have never stayed so motivated to forge ahead. It’s ride or die time! Hopefully, everyone else’s ventures are going swimmingly too.
