anyways good luck

Hahaha, my game so far is about ten minutes. :P, no clue how I’ll hit 2 hours, guess I’ll lose those points, better make it the most enjoyable game in the world.

I am slowly plotting out a game. A competition deadline seems like a great way to force myself to actually start scripting and get it finished even if I missed the start-date. I have a small hope that posting here means I’ll actually follow through. I’ve never made a game in choicescript though so this might not be the best idea.

I have a question about the length category. Is that the length to play the game once or the length of the game as a whole? If it’s the length of a single playthrough from start to finish that would seem to encourage the creation of tree-like games overy bushy games.

One of the things I enjoy about Choice of Games is they can be extremely replayable and while you may take only a short time for the first playthrough you’ll want to try again and explore the other options with a different set of stats.

Take Choice of Romance, for instance, there’s three clear paths on it, two of them are far shorter than the third Monarch path, but really to get the most fun out of the game, to see everything there is you need at least 3 playthroughs. Do you count the length of time for all three playthroughs or just for the first?

And what if you’re a terrible person like I am whose eyes happen to glaze over at huge walls of text containing background or descriptive information and I start to skim so I can get to the dialogue and/or choice parts?

well I’m like a judge never go to skip test but a excessive wall of test could be voted negative if spoil the story about the two hours I think is a estimating point to a first playthrough but I could be wrong.

You must remember that the length score is just one category. I personally would rather play a 20 minute long game that was highly engaging rather one that was an hour long but boring as can be.

I assumed it just meant that the judges will spend 2 hours with it. One play they or five, that would depend on the story.

After midnight there is only 30 days left. Looking forward to seeing what happens.

good job @lordirishdas best of luck to you

Can’t wait to see you guys have come up with,I wish I could try them now but unfortunately I have to wait till your finished…

I’m in trouble, I started a second game instead of finishing the other one. Now I have one that is 80% and one that is 30% done. That’s just the first version, both will need a lot of testing and editing. 27 days to go. I might be in trouble.

@Lucid I’ve got two options too, the first has 60 lines of word/code and the other has 150.
I think you’ll be fine

I timed my story, I’m at about 5 minutes. Haha! and I’m 90% done with the writing

22 days left :open_mouth:

It’ll be a miracle if I submit anything even remotely complete.

@CJW haha Ikr

I am getting very hyped as we close in on the finish line. I just want to make sure I have everybody listed for the contest. Just review http://www.lordirish.com/contest.html and let me know if I missed anybody. Thanks.

@lordirishdas Have you had any submissions yet?

@CJW not yet, probably going to get them all at the last min. That is why the contest ends on a Saturday as I will most likely be up all night transferring all the submissions.

Just a reminder to all if you do not notify me by midnight GMT on the 30th, I will not except the submission.

*is hoping for an extension*
