@CJW More or less the same.
Already have my idea set in stone, I just need to plan out the sequence of events and which ones to keep if at all.
Erm, I just jumped into a project without much thought or actual planning.
In retrospect, probably not the best way to go about it…
Honestly, I’m more interested to see what kinds of games everyone else comes up with than my own, and I really hope we get a lot of eventually completed games out of this.
It took me a few days to come up with an idea that seems ‘cool’ and has a decent twist for a short game.
Then I created a short outline basically with about 2-3 lines of the starting scene, major scenes/conflicts and potential endings along with a few key NPCs and an antagonist.
With that said - All I’ve actually done is set up choicescript, made sure everything was working and created a super rough sketch of the first scene along with all the choices. Just need to go back and fill in everything. Then it’s on to the second scene.
I have no idea how I am going to finish this by the end of March…
Started with a small outline and just wrote in details from there. I’m doing pretty well so far but it’s definitely not finished.
I got a good start, but now I can’t seem to find the time needed to keep going on it.
I’m writing an open world game, it’s hard to say what I’ll end up with by March’s end, but we’ll see. I’ve drawn a cool map, and coded so you can go between many of the cities. Now I’m working on quests and stats, etc.
I haven’t entered the competition as I have too much on my plate right now. I am, however, very interested to see what everyone comes up with. Writing a game takes a lot of planning and a lot of time and dedication. Good luck to everyone - I hope you can all finish!
Well we are 13 days in, no stories yet. That leaves you all 48 days to go. Muwahahaha… I mean looking forward to some good reading.
Damn, I came too late to judge.
Hello and sign me up!
I’ve been lurking around for a while and this contest seems a good way to try my hand at this.
Did not make it back to hotel so no laptop tonight will have to add you to the scrolls tomorrow. Sorry @Dima
I’m a good 3/4 of the way through my game. I find that finishing the game is about halfway through the project. Playtesting/polishing/editing takes a long time. So, my timing looks good.
Oooh, I can’t believe I haven’t seen this before. I’d love to enter! I should have something presentable cranked out by the end of March thanks to spring break.
@seryou
cranking out work is not good because that means you forcefully took it out so that will reflect in incomplete or useless work.
it should bloom out
