@rebelgirl, I totally understand being pulled in a thousand different directions! When I get the game submitted to Jason, I’m going to take a month off from writing and read some of the many releases I’ve missed and help anyone who needs any help on their project.

@CaballeroDeAndromeda, yeah I remember the “original” Iron Man armor. I can picture Wombat’s looking about 20% as good as that pile of crap. Oh and Uni is unfortunately not included on the image I’ve uploaded to the game link (which is now also my profile icon!) @Wire and I planned out the image in a lot of detail and we decided to go with the “Main Seven” from the Capture the Flag exercise plus Combat Wombat, since he gets included in the study groups. So that’s eight. I wanted to leave the center square open to represent the player so Uni was the one who had to be cut.

He IS boundary-crossing, at least slightly predatory, and potentially sociopathic. He just also has a fun sense of priorities, inhuman good looks, and some gorgeous suits. Let’s just say… he’s definitely my type.
I am already wondering how far Hedonist spreads around his affections… exactly how much time does he have in his day for seduction, and still be able to get a syllabus prepared and everything? If I’m thinking this hard about whether a character actually likes me and whether to be jealous of my classmates - I may be twisted, but that’s an excellent sign that you’ve written a character who invokes strong feelings all around. Not all of them negative.
Meanwhile I want none of what he’s selling. Note to self:buy pepper spray/tazer. I may need a lawyer for later on in the game so that harassment case could be made.
The only thing I don’t like is the conversation options… You have the charmer( a tool), a jokester (a Naruto), traditionalist (an uncool superman), then Brooder ( Batman). I’m usually not negative and I love this game and everything. I just don’t understand why you added these things Dx
@Razgriz You’ll be fine, just pay attention in HELL class. Surely harassment suits must be covered by someone’s insurance? (I am not positive - I flunked my first HELL test. I only got my hero upgrades because I had the hots for Hedonist and scored A’s on the other two.)
@HornHeadFan - I think Hedonist could be less creepy and more sleazy/perverted/libertine if he made sexual innuendos, waited for admirers to come to him, and didn’t put his hands on everything and everyone in his class with a pulse - or, had a better excuse for why he had to touch them, some story about his power and training methods?
Also, I think he is gonna be read as evil and potentially rape-y no matter what if he blatantly trades sex for grades in the first “test.” It would be different if I were failing and I was sleazy enough to hit on him, but I was doing fine in his class and had no way to prove myself before the proposition came. I just wanted to do well in my classes and also have extra-curricular activities with Hedonist, and didn’t want to turn down his pass in case that was the only excuse I got to get into his cough office.
By the way, fifteen minutes? Is that long enough if the student in question is enthusiastic? I’d love to have an option to steal his attention for longer if I’m charming enough, so whoever is after me in the exam schedule is seen late for their appointment and is automatically suspicious of our torrid affair. (And yeah, I think it would absolutely count as another secret of yours… unless you were completely open and blasé about it, or covered it up successfully.)

Some of your suggestions will likely be implemented. A while back on the thread, we had a similar discussion and I actually toned Hedonist down -a little bit- and took out some rather overt perverted things that he had said during class.
I anticipate going in the direction of making the first HELL test still a private affair in his office (which probably makes it somewhat creepy by itself) but having the test become more of a series of defense hypothetical questions that he poses to you, which again because of its subjectivity and the lack of records to memorialize your actual performance, against should be make it creepy but certainly less so than it is now. He might even weave in allusions to some of past adventures back in California during the testing process.
Then as you point out, it can end with a sly proposition for extra credit, coming perhaps in a veiled way from Hedonist or from the MC. And yes, it should probably be a secret for the MC.
I’ll leave the scene as is for beta, just because I have soooo many other things to fix that are actually broken, but I agree that the character would be interesting being more subtle and perhaps charming enough that more MCs might find themselves propositioning him.
@mika_ce, I’m always glad to get opinions from women on this. I’m glad his creepiness wasn’t totally off-putting as it stands now and perhaps I can make him more attractive with some tweaks.
thinks about Crook and Hedonist being slightly older and whether that is a factor in attractiveness…works on making Professor McCormick romanceable

Well at first I wasn’t hooked on Hedonist and his habit of touching student is really creepy. But when he’s asking a question and you have opportunity to raise your hand, I didn’t and he said something how he need to change my mind - I really like that scene.
And whatever you do with exam scene don’t cut those comments from his secretary about - being first who will have A - that was brilliant, I was smirking to myself after it. But it would be great to hear more about his past.
After his speech at the end when he was defending teachers I really thought that he’s charming.
And I can’t deny about having a thing for older guys - even my husband is older than me

I always thought the reason he made sure to have skin on skin contact with everyone was because his power was bending people’s minds to love him and do whatever he asked but he needed to touch them repeatedly to keep ‘control’ over them or something like that

@vampierkid222, I love the art @Wire did. I kept telling him that he made them come to life just as I had imagined. And it really helps me as a writer to have actual visuals of many of the characters, just because it reinforces their appearance and attitude in my head. The cover looks pretty damn good and there will be 3 other interior covers.
